2017 PC Screenshot Thread

Sorry to pull you up on this, but this is backwards. The point of these threads has always been, quite simply, to show what PC games look like for the benefit of anyone who might be interested. I know this because, god knows how many years ago, I set up a separate thread for 'artshots' so as not to subvert this one. It failed, and rather than flood the PC screenshot thread with HUD-less wank that few people wanted to see, I set up a website and put my HUD-less wank over there.

Point being that it is simply wrong to suggest that 'the whole point of these threads is to create art'. That is in fact missing the point of these threads completely. Might I suggest revisiting the idea of a dedicated thread where your rules can actually apply?

EDIT: It was seven years ago: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=399625

Dude!

I remember your obscene Crysis tiled shots! Loved them!

I logged into steam after months of not using it. Looked at the games available and was thinking dam we don't get many exclusives these days or new multiplatform games that really push PCs. Then I took a look at this thread and remembered how truly great PCs are at pulling the best out of games. I'm truly behind the times in terms of spec

IIRC there was an opposite argument YEARS ago. People were complaining about screens that were doctored in photoshop and cropped, etc.
That's when an "art screenshot" thread was made.

People can post what they want as long as they follow the rules. Get off your high horse.

I'm a little surprised to say this, but I got a report about low level drama in here. Please discontinue that.

The OP has a set of guidelines that I think are more than sufficient to shape what can and can't be posted in the thread. People don't need to chime in every time they see a shot posted that they wish weren't here sullying their pristine space.

Let's do it this way:
- If you see a screenshot you think should not be here, PM Stallion Free.
- If Stallion agrees and PMs me, I will look into it. I have no problem trusting him to make decisions in this regard.
- If you see someone posting a complaint about another user's post, PM me directly and I will delete it and issue a short ban.

Please don't reply to or quote this post; my intention is to end this derail, not cause a further derail. If you feel that the rules are no good, oh well. Our primary interest here is to stop argument, not to make this the Garden of Eden.

Loving the Zelda shots. Part of me wants to try and find the camera in CEMU but then I remember how much of a pain it was just to get durability :(

Btw, are you using the graphics pack to disable the in-game AA?

Thanks! Yeah just the AA removal pack and 4xAA through the Nvidia panel. Even with that and the 12k graphics pack I still see a bit of aliasing in some of my shots.

I just can't get over the "There is always a light fog over everything" look of BotW. :-(

Yeah there is..I think a bit more contrast makes the game look a whole lot better, although I don't really notice the fog when I'm playing because all the assets and art style seem to gel together and the animation is lovely.

Having said that I'm testing some Reshade on it right now and have some settings I like. I have a feeling I'm gonna get lambasted when I post the shots..

Edit: Not sure what you guys think of this. It changes the aesthetics of the game quite a bit but I like it. It's just a simple filmic pass with some tonemapping to take out the semi-cartoon look and especially the fog. (I took a similar shot in my previous post for comparison), I don't know how it looks in other areas but evening and nights looks better than the original which is too bright for my liking. Dunno, I'm kind of torn between the two, I love the soft painterly look of the original too. I feel this looks more like a Twilight Princess engine update. Btw reshade is making the game almost unplayable at times anyhow...getting 15 ~ 30 fps on fraps and that's with speedhack enabled.

This forum wants to be taken seriously and throws parties when big names mention they visit, yet blatantly allow piracy with all these Zelda emu pics.

You people should be required to post your physical copy as evidence you own the game, otherwise you're just giving this place a bad name.

Zelda BOTW, Cemu, reshade.

I decided to go with pastel colors instead. I'm really liking Reshade 3.0, it's so much easier to do stuff.

At times it feels like you've stepped into a Studio Ghibli movie.

Man someone needs to find a way to make this:

Look like this:

That's all I really want.

Go in your graphics card drivers control panel and turn the vibrance up, maybe the contrast a smidge as well. That's all you really need. Alternatively, you can do reshade if you're one of the lucky few that doesn't get a big performance hit off it.
