Battleship is cool as hell. And it had Thunderstruck playing while they set up a museum to be a fighting machine again. It has the museum doing a Toyko drift before blasting the fuck out of aliens and it had Liam Neeson.

Also Speed Racer for a generic answer. And also Independence Day is still one of the best summer blockbusters out there. Don't care what anyone says. *Too bad the sequel sucked hard*

And any and almost all disaster movies...they are all a guilty pleasure, especially 2012. I blasted Armaggedon for being stupid, but i still love it as a guilty pleasure. I know they have no plot and all just special effect show off films, but who cares?

Oh one last thing: Jurassic World is awesome. It isn't the original, but i don't think anyone can make as good of a dino movie as Spielberg can...not even Spielberg himself. As a dino wreck shit up movie, it passes its job with flying colors.

I enjoyed last year's Ghostbusters movie.

I also love the shit out of Sahara and always wish they made more.

Watchmen: Director's Cut is the best version of the movie, and the movie is a great adaptation of the sourcework.

I love Watchmen I love Watchmen the movie. People are fucking nuts if they think it is a bad adaptation, the only way to do a more proper adaptation would be a 12 episode series on Netflix or HBO.

I pretty much agree, though I'm not sure I love it - and I agree it was about the best we could have hoped for short of a series.

My pick is Marie Antoinette.

Clash & Wrath of the Titans.

Until any one of you fuckers gives me a better big-budget Hollywood blockbuster about greek mythology, I'll take one can't get thank you very much.

Equilibrium. It's so stupid but I just find it endlessly appealing for some reason.

Bobby Roberts hates The Transformers: The Movie for some reason.

I own five different versions of it and have the poster on my wall, and even I will freely admit it's a pretty bad movie.

The Pest. KFC in Kuwait used to give VHS movies as the 'toy' with some meals and this was one of them. It's a dumb movie but the nostalgia makes it a winner for me. Plus John Leguizamo put his soul into that role. It's so badly rated online!

I watched Speed Racer on Saturday and loved almost every second of it, and i found the original anime to be dull as dishwater when it was on Cartoon Network back in the day, so i was actually biased against it going in. I know everybody hates technicolor and family-friendly action movies these days, but seriously.

The Star Wars Prequels.

I know deep down they're objectively garbage but I can still manage to wring some enjoyment out of the entire bunch.

Also Tron Legacy.

I've seen it twice. And I have to admit I like it enough to see it a third time.

I will defend Super Mario Bros. till my dying breath.

Did it make a lick of sense? No.

Was it even remotely related to the games? Hell no.

Was it a good movie? Fuck no!

Still enjoyed every last second of its random insanity.

The Hobbit 1+2 (3 can get lost)
Prometheus
Skyfall -- Seriously, the hate that it gets is a little overblown. I found it really really enjoyable
The Dark Knight Rises -- Heavily flawed, yes, but I still like the ambition of the story.

I heard some people aren't fans of Eddie Murphy's best movie, Norbit. I'm not sure it's a valid answer for this thread though since by and large most people accept it as his best work.

Short Circuit 2. It's so unabashedly Toronto, through and through.
People don't like sc2? That climax with "I need a hero" playing while Johnny 5 is on his way to fuck some people up is iconic. I'm sure those Melissa McCarthy commercials used it as inspirado.

Haha, this works. I too loved how bizarre it was.

I liked After Earth quite a bit. Have seen it 3-4 times. Really liked the sci-fi and loneliness aspect and coming back to an Earth long since forgotten by humanity. Some cheesy issues and wooden Jaden Smith acting aside was a good film.

TRON Legacy.

I bloody love this film. First time I watched it at home on my TV, headphones on, volume up, was a fantastic experience. The music was a huge part of it, loved the Daft Punk soundtrack, and it was just a cool fun film. I'd not even really seen the original properly but this still worked for me.

I see quite a few people dismissing this film but I just don't get it. Didn't have the greatest last act, but the first two were awesome.

The Day after Tomorrow, I thought it was dumb fun but Most people I know hate it.

Rocky V, Its terrible but I just really love that press conference scene

jonathon glazer's birth was pretty ravaged on release. it's sitting at a low 38% on rottentomatoes and a modest 50 on metacritic. after seeing it for the first time this past year i genuinely think it's a pretty amazing film. it has a beautifully haunting score as well.

count me in for tron legacy too, although i think the general consensus was less hate and more apathy. i can acknowledge that the film's plot is pretty iffy but it's never so distractingly bad as to take away from the amazing aesthetics, music and general atmosphere. even the opening real world bike chase is stylish as all hell. i think the series has a lot of potential.
