Terminator Salvation was a good starting point for a new trilogy and the best Terminator thing after T2. I really, really can't see what's supposed to be shit about that movie.
I thought Fire In The Sky was pretty brilliant. The part where the aliens cover him in that sheet was pretty spoopy I thought too. I liked Riddick too.

I also enjoyed Terminator 3 quite a bit and rewatched it multiple times. The action was really spectacular with the crane/chase scene, and the terminator hand-to-hand fights having a real sense of tons of weight to them.
The story was solid and I appreciated the new Terminator's ability to control other machines, as well as the reset back to the inevitability of Skynet and Judgement Day. I mostly just didn't respond to the two bland lead actors.
If only after this movie Kristanna Loken hadn't fallen into the hands of Uwe Boll for her shot at top billing...

Yeah it had at least original set pieces and spectacle. I remember the crane chase. I remember the giant collider too - a great idea for killing the unstoppable machine.
I couldn't tell you one thing that happened in Salvation, except that it was 'grey and gritty'.
I had 0 expectation, i saw the horrible trailer... this is far from what i thought the movie would be. Like the dialogue, like the character, the music, the tone. I thought it was really well done, also the light. Yeah i understand why it bomb so hard, selling as a teen movie and it's way far from that kind of movie.
I'm fully aware of the flaws in each of these films, and it's the reason why I'm drawn to them so much I like the groundwork they have, just bad direction, studio interference, and a sub par writing really prevented these films from becoming masterpieces, I like them for their potential. They had their lows but their highs were ridiculously high imo.
I wouldn't say Alien 3 is hated, it's just a bit of a drop from the greatness of Alien and Aliens. After seeing Resurrection it's a lot easier to appreciate it
On a similar note I came in to say Promethius but after seeing all the turds posted in this thread I don't think that would be fair either
