April Wrasslin' |OT 2| I'M NOT FINISHED WITH YOU!

RVD's explanation of the 420 dropkick (or whatever) to Vince is still the best.

"Nah man, it's cuz you hit the guy with, uh, 4 feet with 20 toes. Totally not a reference."

Also - speaking on Alvarez being so appaled by Jinder vs Orton because its the WWE Championship...

Does he not realize that the belt does not mean a fucking thing anymore? Ever since Wyatt got it, its been dead in the water.

Ambrose has excited me more in matches on occasion. The only time Orton has ever gotten pops out of me are for his RKO spots. The RKO carries him quite a bit.

Orton is boring, but has quite a few good matches under his belt and is still able to move just as well as he did back then, aside bad shoulders. I'm way more excited for any storyline involving Orton than Dean, and, believe me, I don't get very excited for stuff involving Orton.

But Ambrose's mic work is a million times better.

I agree, even though I don't like Dean's goofy gimmick. But Orton's work is not bad.

Neither men are great workers considering the current roster.

Orton can be a great worker and has matches to prove that, the flow is backed by his performance as a wrestler, not just character. He is very talented.

Anyone see the "rumor" of Alistair Black going to Cruiserweights/205 Live when he comes up?

I feel like (a) he doesn't fit in that category at all and (b) will completely kill any chance he has in the trainwreck that is 205Live (IMHO).

There's no "rumor" of that.

What's happening is he's working with Aries and Neville on the European Tour. So people extrapolated that to say he'll be a CW when he's called up, which, while not exactly a leap of logic, is no confirmation of anything. Could just be that they want to fit him on the cards and that's the spot they have open.

I'm down with the ridiculousness of the mountain.

Famous story time: reportedly, "The Clique" (Shawn, Diesel, Razor, Helmsley, & Kid) met with Vince McMahon while out on the road for some house shows and the purpose of the meeting was for Vince and the Kliq to evaluate everyone on the roster, one-by-one, and discuss whether they should be moved up or down the card or what should be done with them. Word is that some of the guys the Kliq liked were still doing jobs, while someone they thought was useless (Bob Backlund, for instance) was getting a renewed push so it's not looking like they had a whole lot of influence on Vince's decision making. Anyway, you can just imagine how happy everyone else in the locker room is about this.

Fucking lol.

I definitely feel like these elaborate stage sets from WWE are doing more to hurt the appearance of wrestling being a sport vs entertainment. Even in 1999 they're not using a massive giant ramp for Mania and it just helps sell the "here comes the fighter" feel so much more.

The last Orton march I fully enjoyed was his triple threat at WM30.

I agree with that. After WM30 he had a few decent and a lot that were just boring. Still very talented and with a good enough tracking record to avoid being called out for his laziness.

She's a way bigger name than Ellering and has never been in NXT in any way, unlike Ellering who has shown up as a jobber before. She wouldn't be there for a one-off. Especially with that tournament coming up they are signing people for.

I mean you can believe it's a one-off if you want, but the chances of that are incredibly low given all the context.

She'll likely be in the tournament, and may even be signed if she impresses, but this "context" is all in your imagination. They needed bodies, she was available and local.

Who exactly has NXT signed and debuted without even a single word leaking? Some of the TNA signings debuted straight on TV, but they were all heavily rumoured beforehand. But now somehow they have gone to all the trouble of keeping this a secret, and pushed her straight to TV. All so that she could be a jobber in a Battle Royal?

is juice robinson getting a push because people like him ironically?

I don't think he's very good either but it's nice to see somehow work hard and get over with the crowd, and accordingly, get rewarded for it. If he stayed in NXT he'd either still be there jobbing to the next new signing every few months, Curt Hawkins status on the main roster, or released.

Ah, cool, thanks for the clarification.

Orton has the most over finisher in the company, maybe of all time. As long as he has that he's pretty much set.

Except he has like zero 5 star matches.

Has Jinder actually got over with live audiences, or is it all internet fans? Legit question, haven't been watching.

Not sure how true it is but people are speculating its because WWE is catering to its new audiences in India. Heard that on a podcast this week. Hence why the Bollywood boys are also with him. Either way, im cool with it. Its a fresh new heel that they can push a little bit. They need new top heels and Jinder is a scary looking mother fucker, so it works IMO.

People didn't make a lot of noise at first. His reactions were a bit less than Mojo's, as far as I remember, but he got some serious heat on Tuesday. Some will say it's real heat, I wouldn't.

Internet fans. Up until his win on Smackdown, I don't remember any large reactions for him from the crowd, just everyone here and other places commenting on how jacked the dude was. When he won, he got huge boos for his post match promo.

Jinder Mahal has been getting over with crowds? Maybe in India.

Khali winning the title is the 4th most popular video on WWE's youtube. His debut is the 7th most popular. India is a huge fucking market that WWE has neglected for years despite how popular they are over there.

How often do they have live shows in India?

Wait what?

When Bray got it he was pretty hot. Both the EC and the triple threat were great. People were into Bray... I'd say Orton killed it not Bray.

They had a chance to do something really interesting with Wyatt after Orton burned down the compound but then they fucked it up and Orton's phoned it in ever since

She wasn't a "jobber" in the Battle Royal though. She was brought out as a surprise, got a reaction, and was eliminated by one of the biggest women's acts on the show.

Plus, Meltzer has made it known that there won't be unsigned women doing anything significant in this tournament, as they don't want another Ibushi or Sabre situation where people get over then leave.

She's too big a name to throw out and never use again, and if they are using her in the tournament it's because she signed with them.

Like you really think they would have waited all this time to bring her in as a jobber if she was local and available? NXT has shot out of the same place for five years now and Gargano has been there for almost two. They've even done battle royals where they needed bodies before. Why now of all times if it's just random?
