Logan was the most tryhard shit I've seen in a long while lol

NAH I know it ain't a popular opinion by any means.

But nothing about that is anything I would want to see in Star Wars.

I don't think that Lucasfilm is going to venture into R rated Star Wars films tbh
At least not for a long time

Yeah but one can dream,

I remember the cantina scene from ANH disturbing me as a young lad when that dudes arm is chopped off and theres blood everywhere.

That was before they committed to what light sabers do, lmao

I think he might be a sham in that he's not so great and powerful anymore, just wants to see his version of the Empire completely succeed (getting rid of the Republic and Luke). My gut says Ben will kill him in a fit of rage.

But I never thought about that. Former teacher training someone powerful with Anakin's lightsaber...he is going to be pure rage lol.
It's already established that he's a force user and very powerful though, as he is able to sense awakenings in the force.. Something the emperor was able to do.

He's the real deal

my god LMAO

Obi Wan was a morbid fuck

He could have just talked him down

Kylo won't touch snoke.
This is what Han says to Kylo Ren
"Snoke is using you for your power. When he gets what he wants, he'll crush you."
―Kylo Ren and Han Solo, about Snoke
Snoke is in a whole other league

Star Wars has always been pretty violent. There were a large number of decapitations even in The Clone Wars show. But I don't think they'll take it to an R level.

Lucas always saw it explicitly as a family brand and Disney bought it as one. I'd say it's virtually impossible for it to happen.

If the anthology films rake in money and there's a demand for it, I think something like a Boba Fett film could push the boundaries of Star Wars violence.

I know. :p I was just stating the prior part as why I like the latter justification. Makes more sense to me than each Sith blade being the result of them nicking a Jedi crystal, screaming "YOU'RE MINE DAMMIT" and then it cries red.

But it's so much more magicky and Star Wars this way! Just like the Death Star is way cooler being a big ass lightsaber than your run of the mill superweapon.

There's also the fact that Snoke is about to compete Ren's training, suggesting he trained him before and is about to finish it up

Well I actually like that one lol. I mean, it's not a giant lightsaber anyway. It's just a different weapon with the same power source.

By crush, it doesn't have to be super literal. After all, a bunch of clone troopers with lasers took out Jedi. After Snoke uses him to kill Luke, he distracts him then has him killed by his army etc.

If Kylo Ren gets another power up then I doubt blaster bolts will stop him
In addition to that The First Order is pretty loyal to Ren too, so I'm sure they'd have some reservations. If anything I'd imagine the troopers wouldn't do shit out of fear then Snoke says "Fine, I'll do it myself"

I meant before he disappeared.
We don't know what happened, he probably was concentrated on seducing Kylo, and their plan was to kill Luke along with all the other students. But Luke probably escaped or wasn't around when they attacked. I think he wanted Kylo on his side before he tried to kill Luke.

Maybe he felt like he needed the help of a powerful apprentice to do it.

How could the new scar position on kylo not be considered cliche?

a scar right across the center of the face is fucking badass. I actually loved the way that looks. Also that it starts at his arm

Snoke has been skulking around Kylo long before the academy it seems.

If Anakin had the greatest potential of any force user ever, and Luke has the same potential, then even if Snoke is more powerful than Palpatine, in theory he shouldn't stand a chance against Luke. Which seems to be the case, because he seems pretty damn scared of him coming back.

Kylo probably has the same potential, but Luke's had decades to study and learn, so right now he alone still wouldn't be close.

If you dont think this looks cool, you're actually lying
Rian Johnson liar confirmed
Episode 8 full remake of episode 5 confirmed
Real title is"The Jedi strikes back"

I'm feeling similarly.
But Snoke specifically picked Kylo because he's balanced in the force. Equally parts Vader and Luke.

Kylo is supposed to be further on the dark side than Vader was. That's basically what Snoke means when he says he'll complete his training, and what Kylo meant when he said he'd succeed where Vader failed. So presumably in VIII Kylo would be more powerful than Vader was, and be able to do some other stuff presumably, wouldn't be just the same as he was before but simply better with a light saber. Kylo had to kill his father to lose all attachment to the light side, Snoke says so, and he succeeded, which Vader hadn't been able to do.

I wouldn't say Kylo is anywhere near Vader. Vader was the most powerful known force user. Rey tells Kylo Ren when she's in his mind that he's afraid that he'll never be as powerful as Vader. I think it runs deeper than just him not being able to sever his attachment.

IMO I think that's going to be his whole character ark, trying his best to be what he cannot and that will cause him even more frustration and anger.

the media focusing on how Mark Hamill didn't agree with the story direction and im sitting here sweating because the director gave Kylo the generic bad guy eyebrow scar

Wow, Im actually sitting here marveling over how angry this logic makes me

Honestly, though, I think that was a good call by Rian. The wound placement in TFA is a bit awkwArd

I don't think so, that's way too typical and would make him really annoying. VII spelled clearly what his issue was: he felt both the light and darkness, tried to suppress the dark side, but never could and probably shouldn't have. That was Luke's failure, he didn't understand the light and dark side could be balanced, and by trying to suppress the dark side in Kylo it just ate away at Kylo, and eventually he was convinced by Snoke that the solution was to completely embrace the dark side. He completes this by killing Han, achieving what he believes Vader couldn't, and Snoke says he's now ready to finish his training.

Luke left to figure things out, realizes one should master both the light and dark side, teaches Rey as much, Rey mastering both and she or her and Luke will use that to try and make Kylo realize that he doesn't have to suppress his dark side and can come back. In VIII I would expect him to be full on evil, which would be Rey's challenge as she would wonder if Snoke or Luke is right. In IX, maybe she succeeds.

I agree that he's gunna be evil in EP8 but EP7 wasn't about suppressing the dark side at all. It was about eradicating his weakness.. The light

old v revision

I wonder if they'll try and explain how it went from a deep scar from forehead to shoulder into a minor facial scar.

Dark syde healing powerz, bacta creme, or director retcon powers?

I don't really care about the scar positioning change, but I do think it would've been fine. He just killed Han fucking Solo so even if he looked silly whatever, dude's an asshole.

I'm sure it came down to camera testing and such though. That's fine.
