Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

LOL

Yeah, the resurgence of a 5 year old game has nothing to do with BC that came out at the same time of the said resurgence.

Come on my Chitown brother...

honestly I wasn't sure of the population. But old COD games seem to hold people more than others anyway.

Give me Radiant Silvergun, or give me death!

So do all BC games perform better or basically the same as on 360? There's no random issues like with the OG Xbox BC?
Looking forward to it when I eventually get an X1.
Oddly enough, the four Gears games run pretty poorly on X1. Judgment being the worst of the bunch.

Yeah Rs is my most wanted game by far. I had to sell my Saturn copy and I also traded in all my 360 to Gamestop so I am without it for far to long now.

I'd love to see Settlers of Catan, Geometry Wars 2, Lost Cities, and Game Room on BC. The first two I'm hopeful for, the last two I think are pure wishful thinking. =(

it's a joke, but also note that the 143K played BLOPS2 might also just still be on X360.

It was averaging around 40K peak prior to becoming BC. The majority are on xb1. Over 65K at least because that's what the second most played game on Xbox is doing and we know blops 2 is first.

I'd say the majority are the same or better but some have issues.

I think Deus Ex: Human Revolution has some framerate issues which might be related to the CPU issues but these may have been updated since.

Halo Reach had issues at launch but it's since been updated.

I think Gears of War Judgement might have issues too but could now be updated.

Alan Wake also seemed a lot darker on the Xbox One.

Alan Wake was fixed. I'm pretty sure all the Gears games were as well. I think Gears 1 was the most problematic. It's fine now.

Lol people still bringing up the thread title

Hope the second topic gets a similar title when this one hits 400 pages

150K on BO2 is good, not really surprising though it is the best CoD

Capcom. We really only got Vanilla SF4 from them

Capcom has actually been delivering. Using this link as a reference, I count 14 titles total, several of which I own and break out occasionally.

  1. Age of Booty
  2. Bionic Commando Rearmed 2
  3. Capcom Arcade Cabinet
  4. Dark Void
  5. de Blob 2
  6. Dead Rising 2: Case West
  7. Dead Rising 2: Case Zero
  8. Ducktales Remastered
  9. Dungons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara
  10. Final Fight: Double Impact
  11. Flock!
  12. Mega Man 9
  13. Mega Man 10
  14. Street Fighter IV

I would be surprised if Capcom haven't given Microsoft carte blanche to bring pretty much everything over. At this point it's not really in their hands, so we just have to wait it out. They'll all come eventually.

I don't think I've seen a DF comparison video where it doesn't run better on X1.

In the "early days" there were several titles which run worst or introduced input lag and so on.

But since mid 2016 bascially every game runs the same or better (and they also patched many older games).

So I guess their emulator is now "finished" :)

I would just like to note that Gears of War the original runs online somewhat differently on the Xbox one...its not something easily noticed and I'm not sure weather it is the Xbox one controller that changes it but the movement with the sticks is actually offset compared to the 360 controllers sticks..which is why I choose to play gears1 on my 360 * this is including the elite controllers

Could Today be the day for AVP and Aliens colonial marines? since tomorrow is alien day?
They have done similar things for Star Wars day (Force Unleashed 1&2), so that would be rad.

Last week was 5 Arcade titles, and before that only had BLOPS for almost 2 weeks, so maybe they have been working on some larger titles

I think we have a better chance with ACM than AVP. AVP is rebellion and havent seen any rebellion games BC. ACM is Gearbox and SEGA so its should be a shoe in.

Don't play with my heart like that. AvP is one of my favorites.
Hell, when I first got my 360 I got Left 4 Dead 2, CoD: Black Ops, and AvP..... I really hope it comes someday.

Speak for yourself. I don't have a PC to play games, I would love Vanquish on BC.

I will: I'd gladly see the people nervously clutching their 360 copies of Vanquish get trampled by all the stuff I want: Ace Combat 6, Amped 3, Armored Core 4A... god, I haven't even left 'A' yet.

I want a whole bunch of early-gen cross-gen stuff to be BC:

AC4 Black Flag
Watch Dogs 1
Dragon Age Inquisition
Forza Horizon 2
Forza Horizon Fast and Furious Edition
Destiny
Black Ops 3

Etc...

Does anyone know if the Ultimate Edition of Dragon Age Origins works on the Xbox One? I got the original during the sale along with the DLC but then I found out that there is a lot more DLC then I rememebered. It would be cheaper buying the Ultimate Edition than the rest of the DLC separately.

Also does it have to be a new copy or can a used one work?

Because he owns the older gen versions and doesn't want to rebuy?

Actually no I don't own those games heh (other than the free Forza Fast and Furious game on 360). I just like the idea or the statement it makes about BC in general.

I hate the idea of publishers holding BC games hostage for greedy / anti-consumer reasons. I.E. "We won't make this particular game BC because we want to sell the new-gen version". Making those kinds of games BC will let everyone know that that kind of mindset won't be a hurdle preventing games from becoming BC.

Microsoft has been really good about this with their own 1st-party games. All Gears games are BC even though there is a Gears 1 remaster on Xbox One.

Microsoft should make every single one of their 1st-party cross-gen games BC, from their Halo games to Forza Horizon 2.

Question: my profile has 200/200 achievements from Golf: Tee It Up, back when it was on 360. It was an xbox live game, meaning I downloaded it digitally. It is not showing up in my "Ready To Install" or "Installed" lists despite hitting backwards compatibility last week. Any suggestions?

Edit. Or do 360 games need to be searched for and downloaded/don't auto show up?

Does xbox.com show it as purchased on your GT?
Could you have bought it on a different GT that you played it on?

Skyrim & Assassin's Creed III. Once (if?) those hit I will be all set. I honestly do not have any interest in starting Skyrim over with the remaster when I have a 200+ hour save on my 360...

I hope this is a troll post.
On a consumer standpoint I agree with him that it would be good for people who bought those on 360 to have them available for "free"

On a BC time/preservation standpoint, I would personally rather them spend time bringing over games you can not buy organically on XB1 store, that should be brought forward and "preserved" on a modern platform

I get what you are saying, though I really don't agree with it. The publishers owe us jack shit with regards to making their games available on Xbone. Also, outside of some people who already own a last gen version, why would someone with an Xbone want to play a last gen version of a cross gen game.
