So Sega decided against making Alien Isolation 2 because the first game didn't sell well enough.
The rumor says they're considering making another Alien game, presumably dependent on if Microsoft wants Halo Wars 3.
However, another Alien game doesn't necessarily imply Alien Isolation 2.
To the contrary, given Sega didn't want to make Alien Isolation 2 in the first place, starting it now targeting cross-gen PS4/PS5 or whatever seems even more improbable.
I think you would be most likely to see a different game with the Alien IP were this to happen.

Imagine them taking a swing at a Aliens game. playing as a Colonial Marine against multiple xenos like the one in the first game. Multiple Tough nemesis style enemies instead of one invulnerable nemesis style enemy.

That would be awesome but I think I would still rather have another Alien game versus Aliens.
The first game is perfect, a challenging survival Horror themed Thief 2 in the alien verse that scott created with a bunch of other people like Roger Cobb, Giger, etc.
No garbage, lengthy 15-20 hour campaign.
Those super engineering androids in the core can get fucked though.

I'm just down for whatever CA does with the license, they've earned my trust from Alien: Isolation and it seems with Halo Wars 2 that this team is good at making games in general.

I hope they will also make a Terminator 1 game with that engine. Where the Terminator chases you in a 80s setting of the first Terminator movie, while you are playing with a helpless Sarah Connor.

This is an exciting development.
Man, I really don't want that. Alien: Isolation distancing itself entirely from Cameron's Aliens was what made it special. It felt like a gift from an alternate dimension where the Alien "mythology" was never diluted by its sequels. It's even more precious now that Ridley Scott became so dedicated to turning it into the schlockiest cinematic universe.

Alien: Isolation was just an utterly fantastic game, and a near perfect adaption of the experience of the original movie in video game form. It's also my favorite licensed/movie game ever pretty much, and just an excellent all around Survival Horror game. It's easily one of the most tense and frightening games I've ever played. I realize I'm just heaping effusive praise on A:I, but I mean, the game deserves it. I also think a sequel is justified so that
