so... seems like the huge (imo) nerf midas got doesn't really affect the pros huh?
i thought the exp nerf is almost 50% or some shit

one of the casters said that talents are so important that its still worth it which sounds right to me

Ironic RTC is becoming the new Black^, all farm and no impact

ah shit brood picked for faceless

yeah, it was some unfortunate timing for 4 teams to switch names just before the major :/

anyways, here's the changes

Team Random <- ex The Wings Gaming
Thunderbirds <- ex Digital Chaos
Digital Chaos <- ex Onyx
Mousesports <- ex Ad Finem

Esports will never be taken serious as long as this happens regularly.

olympics - steroids
NBA - tanking, abuse
MLB - steroids
NFL - steroids, abuse
soccer - matchfixing

Yeah, like it really matters what the name on the jersey says.

What has cheating to do with a team and history to build you could cheer for and follow?

If the redskins become the giants and the cowboys change 50% of the team every year, not many would care about the nfl that much

And Esports has cheating and matchfixing, too.
That is not something unique, lol.

I don't know what you want then, sorry Dota the game or the esport isn't casual friendly.

Most people follow players not teams and it has worked pretry well.

IG v OG game 2 was insane. It was such a surreal experience. I don't recall ever watching a match where one team was up in kills 20-4, or 25-6, and I just felt at around minute 25 that they lost. Burning had amazing map awareness. They just couldn't catch him. Only 3 times they actually found him, I think, and in two of those he escaped.

On that note, I really hate playing against AM. He's maybe my most hated hero at the moment. He just feels like a hero that once he enters the game, farmed, it's over. I know there are ways to counter him, yeah, but it's just a feeling I can't shake off with this guy, more than any other carry.

On that note, kudos to all of IG for managing to give him so much space. It was such an amazing group effort. And it's not that OG didn't try. What a crazy game.

None of my correct predictions registered in the compendium, do I have to watch the entire match or something?

What do you mean by seriously? If you want old muscleheads sipping beer and yelling at ESPN while watching UFC or Football, that isn't going to happen with esports and no one wants that to happen either. The Dota community seems to be able to follow the scene fine. I'm sure the young'uns of today won't have trouble following the game when they're old, assuming it lasts that long (it won't).

Day 1 Standings

Day 2 Matchups are all interesting except the bottom 4.
The only problem with Swiss is that this garbo teams have 1-2 more series.

Nobodys are. Bugged Compendium. Bugged Fantasy.

edit: Updated - should be fixed

Who do I vote for when NP isn't playing?

I guess by default Thunderbirds since Envy is coaching them?

Also Shira is the thread title a reference to Your Lie In April? :D

I'm baffled how Raven can perform so well with TNC and complete dogshit with Mushi and Fnatic.

They are basically drafting each game around him. Notice the games they won were on the back of strong Raven performances. The one game where he got shut down early (TB vs. TNC game 1 I think) they fell apart.

This has been an issue for a few months.

Yea it's really getting old. I say it's getting to the point where maybe they try switching it up with Universe or Zai drafting. Cr1t has also been playing noticeably worse since taking over drafting and captain responsibilities. He keeps drafting himself heroes that just don't work with their lineup or drafting comfort heroes when he's stumped regardless of how they fit into the lineup--Void last pick when you have 3 other melee heroes and your only ranged hero is damn SS???

Luckily I'll be home in time for Secret vs IG. That should be some good fucking dota. I'm excited to see Secret especially, since I haven't actually seen this iteration of the team play yet.

I remember saying Lycan would need to build attack speed to make up for the nerfs & Feral Impulse change but MP's build is a little much.

Diffusal Lycan makes me physically ill.

Is it bad that after reading hundreds of posts about how amazing TNC is, I'm really happy VP stomped the crap out of them?

Yep feel the same. Most op hero to me. I almost always ban him right away.

Roots and Silences absolutely demolish him now. Heroes like CM and Skywrath. The problem with playing against AM in pubs is to shut him down you need the minimum level of communication which is hard to accomplish when it's just people diving and dying then spamming "WE NEED WARDS".

Nah. I feel the same way about NP.

I also legitimately think TNC is a Tier 2 maybe even Tier 3 team (on the international level). I'll be amazed if they clear the first round of the Main Event, and see almost no way they make it past the second short of some miraculously easy bracket (SG first, Faceless or iG.v second). There's a reason those guys barely qualify and often fail to qualify for events.

Also, I imagine Faceless vs. SG must be depressing to watch...

Man liquid are so fucking bad good lord

Losing to KKona in 2017 smh
Edit:gh needs to go fucking terrible

Edit: im beginning to sound like trump sad!

That moment when you don't know the schedule and you have 4 players from Secret & VP on the fantasy team.

im out of the loop for Dota but just got back in the game. I saw monkey king been release, is there any words on new champion announced? I think monkey king is the first real new character that was not part of dota1 right?

Man, DC is playing way better than I thought they would.

Also it is sooo satisfying to see naga losing, holy shit.

Monkey King was the first hero added to Dota 2 that was not already in Dota 1 yes.
Regarding new releases, they kinda tease something here and there. We know that there's a 4th spirit brother(Earth-, Storm-, and Ember-Spirit) that's not in the game yet.

I'd imagine Valve will reveal the new hero at TI.
