Endgame spoilers:
It just showed to me that fake Igor was an even better planner than I thought. Still made Akechi scum and for a game that shows how we hate all these other scumbag, I didn't feel any different with him.

Well, yeah, I mean. The
Fool arcana is about the unexpected, not taking authority for granted and crafting your own way even if it means other people will, well, consider you a fool. So Akechi should have been able to break off the chains of "fate" in the same way the MC did. In the end, it's him who made those decisions.

Lmao. That's great. xD

*faceplants book*

Yakuza 0 is a great soft landing after P5. It's weirdly complimentary because all the side mission game are so pick up and play. P4G definitely takes a lot of investment but at least you can carry it with you if you play on Vita,
Yeah, I have both a Vita and a Vita TV, but I'm thinking it might not be wise going straight into another Persona game. I think I'll end up just comparing the two too much, and that's never a good thing. So Yakuza might be the choice indeed.

All Mementos missions done.
Persona Compendium done.

All I need to do is continue on until all confidants are maxed out and then restart a new game and try to get the stupid goddamn hostage situation to occur.

As advice, anybody who is looking for the last 2 treasure demons, this method works 100%

Yeah that's the method I used yesterday to get the last two treasure demons.

Looks good in the promo pics.
Probably won't get it though since it's exclusive (immediate payment required) + not sold on manufacturer (Amakuni)

Futaba Figure by Phat Company

I just ordered Ann from tokyo otaku mode for $160 (they are consistently sketchy as fuck, especially with their premium signups being automatically checked, but they always get to products out.). Ordered Joker from Amiami. Will get Futaba from Amiami as well once available for order.

Using electric chair only once a day is fucking BS.

Same thing with strengthening a persona.

What's the point?

I like it that way. If it werent for the one day strengthen limit it would be too easy to overlevel persona. As it stands now, gallows is mostly just a way to either transfer a skill (critical for Warden requests) or for a quick level up.

And you can bypass the one day gallows limit anyway. Strengthen your persona with gallows, register it, delete it, summon it again, and you can strengthen it again. If you are willing to spend the money there is effectively no daily limit.

I'm just using the final days in game to go to hang out spots with random people. Glad there is at least a small reason to hang out with people who you maxed out.

Dang, that is some outlay right there lol.

I never tried it on level 99 persona. If it works on level 99 personas then yeah I can see them being ridiculously OP and you will have a point there.

However, I still don't see the point in limiting the electric chair usage.

Did anyone else feel like the
beach
part was just a watered down version of p3's?

But I still liked the end with
Futaba officially joining the team.

I have and it's been fantastic. The challenge is just right and the combat realizes its full potential thanks to it.

The fact that a modern Persona game has better challenge than SMT4 and Apocalypse is just hilarious too, but I'm so thankful!

Is that right? I see no reason to not do nocturne and smt4 on hard in that case, nice.

she joins for her own reasons.

Fuse better personas
Upgrade your armor at the shop (armor is always higher priority then weapons)

Unless you're on hard if you fought most things on the way to the boss your level shouldn't be an issue

Thanks. Beat him first time after going back a week.

Best weapons and armour, Slime (physical resist) and levelling up everyone to 11 did the trick. Level 11 gave heal all party and headbutt which were very useful. I didn't have decrease enemy attack which I forgot to unlock before heading back in, but I didn't need it in the end.

I killed the reaper two times via despair and was already bored. It only gave me a few levels at most (I was pretty high level at the time anyway, in the 70s). Plus you can run into it like 10 odd times before it'll actually have depair on it.

I just fused high level Personas and killed the NG+ boss with that instead of grinding levels. It cost me quite a pretty penny, about 2mil or something due to my level. Far more fun though....

It's absolutely frustrating when discovering weaknesses of mini bosses is not recorded when encountering them regularly and I have to experiment again if I can't remember (which happens a lot).

So. Late game. Flu Season...went into Mementos...

Holy shit does getting despair on the Reaper break the game. I went from level 52 to 60 in one fell swoop. I can't believe that worked. I feel so cheap.

Can someone explain this to me?
I haven't even seen the Reaper yet, deep on my second playthrough though. Would be great to grind it out so I can start getting high level Personas out on the compendium

Exactly what he said.
When it's Flu season go into Mementos, stand around till Reaper appears, if it has Despair, just wait 3 turns and it dies. Easiest way to grind. And it does help for getting high level personas.

Took me like 5 (real life) days to slog through the 7th palace. Not a bad one, but just... long, man. Too long. Like almost all of them.

It feels like the palaces are made to be done in more than one sitting but the game absolutely requires you to make the most efficient use of your time (this is the essence of the non-palace gameplay) so you feel railroaded into doing them at once and it can burn you out.

I also wiped to (random persona/enemy spoiler in palace 7)
King Frost
a couple of times which cost me an hour or more because the safe rooms are horribly placed in thatdungeon. But at least at this stage of the game almost all of the enemy encounters have been carefully designed to at least make you think a bit. Screw one up and you're in danger of wiping - and it actually being your fault, rather than one-hit-kill nonsense. The battle gameplay which can be so braindead for the first 30/40 hours really starts to hit its groove at this point. Which is good.

Unfortunately, having done this palace I'm way, way down on the writing now. Same old shitty tropes and clichés undercutting anything that might be interesting. In particular (major palace 7 end spoilers)
turning Akechi from this sharp, composed but overly ambitious and blatantly deceptive character to your standard out-of-control-raging lunatic seen in every other JRPG was just nonsense. Even worse is your parties 'power-of-friendship' speech back to him. There must have been a way to localise this to make it feel less like a Saturday morning special for 8 year olds, because the way it was done was both nonsensical from the thieves' point of view (seriously, why empathise with him) and utterly cringeworthy. Why games like this feel so married to these shitty tropes rather than trying to write something interesting is beyond me.

Also, why was the Yakuza boss so much harder than Akechi? What a strange design decision that was.

Oh well, must nearly be at the end by now. It'll be a relief. I don't think I'll remember this story with anything like the fondness I do P4, even though the core cast of characters is far superior.

Awesome, sounds great. In September right now so I guess I gotta wait a bit but I'll definitely do this

Go into Mementos during the 4 days of flu season, 2 days in November and 2 days in December. Loiter around for 5 minutes or so, until you hear the sound of chains. Engage the Reaper. During flu season, Reapers have high chances of contracting Despair, (because of the flu), and all you need to do is wait it out for three turns until he kills himself with Despair. If the Reaper isn't Despaired, run away from the battle. Hifumi Togo's Confidant skill of immediate escape from battle is useful here. On first playthrough I only managed to get Rank 5 on her, that means I can use Kakoi Kuzushi skill to escape while surrounded, so i usually left my back turned away from the Reaper to allow myself to be ambushed to use this skill. Rank 9 skill Touryou allows instant escape.

How long does it take for
reaper
to show up? I'd rather not burn in my oled tv by standing still for 10 minutes

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.

This is ridiculous. I love it.

Well, you don't have to stand still. You can move around and he'll still appear eventually.

At least it gave us the gem that is Yusuke's response to the MC saying (after dungeon 2 spoilers)
"There's too many dudes..." when he first joins the group. His response was to dress up as a woman.... lol....

Oh Yusuke.....

I'm still trying to force a hostage situation to happen by letting myself get ambushed a ton in the final dungeon

This game really hates me for this one goddamn thing.

?? It's Ryuji, Ann, Yusuke, Makoto and so on...That's like proper alternating between guys and girls. Beside Ann and Ryuji join around the same time. As for Morgana well, it's a cat !

Lol. Happened with me with a couple people. It took me a while to realize they dont record your findings from the mini boss

I can help Kawakami, but I will return to Mementos when I have more cases. By the way, how it works the Fortune Level 7 benefit? It should help me to guarantee to increase the Confidant level the next time I pass time with such person, not matter if I screw in my answers?

I'm actually interested in this as well - I paid for the benefit but on the map screen nothing changed and when I talked to the person it still said the relationship wouldn't level up if I hung out with them.

It doesn't work like that.

There is an EXP cap. Lets say one note = 1 EXP.

You hang out with a person. You have 3 questions. You get 8 EXP points out of it.

In order to get to the next level, however, you'll need to reach 12 EXP points.

So you need to either hang out an extra day with said Confidant, or spent use the Fortune perk 1-2 days in order to get to the cap.

This is the impression I've got after playing this games. I don't think if the extra points you get carry onto the next level in cases like the following one:

You have 8 EXP, you need 12. You hangout with a Confidant and giver him/her a gift. You get 6 EXP points (3 for answer, 3 for gift). I'm not sure if those 2 extra points are counted for the next level.

nOoblet16

Extra points definitely do carry over to the next "rank" in my experience.
This is true, it's why sometimes you can rank up back to back even without fortune perk. If it wasn't true then you would never be able to rank up back to back without using that perk.

And yes, extra points stack, which is great for limited response confidants.

It's basically the same as going to the shire to pray without spending time. You get 1 (maybe 2?) points toward a confidant, which can sometime helps in pushing over to the next level. I think they do limit some of the female confidant replies to force you to spend money on gifts and spend time with them outside of leveling up every time. I would have loved to have this ability with early game Sojiro since it can take forever to clear 3 and 4.

TokyoOtaku the only place selling Ann? I love the figure's design. Such a shame it's some exclusive thing.
