Which will you play more online? Because there your loading times will be limited by the slowest person in your match. So even if you load a map quickly you'll be waiting around anyway.

I'd probably go MK8 internal, splatoon SD

Mmm.. no, TCRM found a file in the game's data with Kamek's emblem on it.

An unused emblem for either Kamek or a generic Magikoopa. Neither appears as a playable character in the finished game or DLC packs, so he was probably scrapped during development. Kamek also appeared in prerelease screenshots of Mario Kart 64 (then called "Mario Kart R").

It's such a shame that digital releases are faster than carts, but I just like cartridges too much.
It's also too bad that you can't install games from carts, but I guess that would mean some kind of shitty DRM to prevent you from installing the game on multiple systems, plus you know some publishers would force mandatory installs on some games as a result.

You can actually save your partner's VR progress on the original/Wii U Mario Kart 8 if you create their own user account via system menu. After that and then selecting "Online - Two Players", choose the Mii(s) with the 1000 (VR at the far right) under "User Mii". From there your partner's VR progress will be saved under that system user. If that doesn't work, you may need to create that user's MK8 save data by booting the game under its name and/or create its own NNID.
Seeing that the Switch offers individual user accounts just like the Wii U, I'll assume the one I just mentioned will also work in MK8 Deluxe splitscreen online.
