I mean I really don't know where MH is headed but I just don't see Sony forking so much money for an exclusive that isn't really going to move hardware much (due to being on a console). Especially since Sony's focus isn't really on Japan lately.

I figured that was the case for it being a console game. I do think it would be a big gamble to spend that much to get it exclusive but I wonder if Sony would be willing to make that gamble.

It's not a gamble that just Sony would take but Capcom as well. While you could argue that SFV horrendous sales could be attributed to its lack of content and horrible launch, it shows that PS4 exclusivity wouldn't grant them instant sales number despite the console being sold like hotcakes worldwide. The further thing about Monster Hunter is that the game fanbase already too cemented on portable platform at this point after six handheld released consecutively (excluding MH3G HD, which basically just a HD port).

They didn't announced any kind of bundles, though maybe they'll save one for later, there's a huge game launching just 2 weeks later.

Would be a good time to launch for Happy Price Selection games too.

Also with that the 3DS is the console with the most iterations, and by a lot.

Guess, thats why Nintendo is being optimistic with their 3DS forecast there.^^

More like, it's a failsafe measure in the case of Switch flopping. When Switch gain success as it is now, the 2DS XL plan is already in motion and it's better to continue than cancel it. I don't particularly optimistic with 2DS XL performance. Looks like the last hurrah for 3DS that meant for people who haven't joined to the party in the past 6 years.

Also remember a lot people's 3ds are old now and many will be breaking, gives them a cheaper replacement option if they want to play their collection

I don't see it as failsafe at all here. I mean, no matter how hard NIntendo do, i can't see 3DS maybe doing as well as before till 2018. Switch is a must success by Nintendo there.

I feel this hardware is just liked the GB Micro iteration there.^^

So why exactly are people so quick to discount the possibility of SF2 doing well?

Old game with crazy pricing? If they release it on 20 bucks i can see it make gang busters there. But at the current price, it is going to be hard sells.(I would laugh like crazy though if it did comparatively well to SFV in Japan lol.^^)

It wouldn't surprise me if it outsold SFV.

We are underestimating the MK8DX number huh.O_O It is going to be huge number lol.

It would be crazy there lol. Cheap effort game with high pricing beat SFV lol.

SFV sold 100K (85K retail, 15K digital). Even given how bad that is for SFV, are people really expecting USF2 to sell 100K?

Well there's the 3DS "price drop".
Yeah, I'm actually thinking they might just eventually discontinue the N3DS models, rather than price drop them. 3D screens are probably still relatively expensive, so this gives Nintendo a high-end model that's still high margin.

We live in a crazy world, anything can happen lol.

Considering we also living in a world where Bomberman R can do 500k in a month.... i kinda agree with u lol.^^

Tbh Switch doesn't need Monster Hunter that much to be successful, but the series would be fucked if it's a ps4 exclusive series

U mean MH is the one who need Switch rather than Switch needing MH now?^^

I'm not a big fan of this change. I occasionally get Fridays off, and that means I am stuck waiting for Yamato or JP to get around to delivering my game all day. If it was Thursday, then I would get home and be pleasantly surprised!

So with the New 2DS LL/XL, the 3DS will possibly be down only slightly from last year? Neat! The 3DS lives on, and that's a good thing! Switch will be fine being the portable Home Console, while 3DS continues to be the only dedicated Handheld device in the market that's relevant.

Poor Vita. :(
