What do you think "von Loathsome" refers to?

The lucky buggers have that BC library though.
Anyday now Fiddy Cent: Breath of the Wild will be confirmed for BC and it'll already be the best gaming system of the gen.
I am deathly serious

I like backwards compatibility as much as anyone, but I keep my old consoles for a reason, people want new games.

honestly with recent developments towars Game as a Service, microtransactions horrible v1.0 versions of games .... i am totally fine with my old games and backlog till pension. Starting to be sick of all these slapdash MP modes and pseudosocial "features", online DRMs even for sp parts and all the lying recently in AAA space

There will ALWAYS be new games, but the 360 had games that still aren't on PC for one thing, and atm it has a nice BC library, and the upcoming Scorpio can make them perform far better than they are now, which has me interested in grabbing one.

We keep saying that one of the benefits of PC gaming is being able to play older games, thanks to the assistance of software such as SCUMMVM and DosBox, and one can enjoy playing new titles as well as experiencing older titles.

Any impressions of Outlast 2 from those who 1) haven't played the first and 2) haven't played many horror games?

Most impressions seem to be either related to the first or from people who are already acclimated to horror, so it might not be as effective to them

Wiztree:

http://antibody-software.com/web/so...using-the-most-disk-space-on-your-hard-drive/

Much faster than Windirstat (although no visualization)

I use TreeSize https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/ , has some nice features , even integrates to popup menu and has various visualization views

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Windirstat was the one I was looking for, as that's the one I've been using a year ago or so.

I've found 15gb of recorded video clips in my Fraps folder apparently, that's quite a lot I can delete. Although, I don't understand why Star Wars: The Old Republic is listed in the "uninstall a program" list when I can't uninstall it (it's probably not installed but strange that it's on this list).

And the Elder Scrolls: Online launcher is downloading a 23gb patch, and I don't think I've even got the game installed. But I'll let it download the whole patch and see if I can uninstall it.

The ladies on the Alienware stream seemed to think it was scary enough. So....much...screaming...

That doesn't neccessarily always translate though. If it's so easy, why aren't they releasing half their games on Xbox? It isn't like Steam has really welcomed them with open arms so it's not even a Bandai Namco situation where they know they have an audience. So there might be something that ends up triggering them to leave eventually, or at least move to the Xbox model where it's just a few notable titles.

Because it's easier to release on Steam. They don't have to go through certification and because it's digital only place, they don't need to print copies, as opposed to Xbox which requires at least 50k prints if you want to release physical copies. There's also the fact you don't need to do rereleases.
Also, despite low numbers, they're still very conservative in term of pricing and some titles have seen growth despite never being discounted more than 50%.

Don't mind me, just dumping some Steam keys from the Make War Not Love promotion that I found in my email inbox:

Mostly everyone on GAF are port beggers. When Danganronpa was announced on PC, people wanted a PS4 version (that they got later).

When some visual novel is announced, some people want a Vita version.

When a PS4/Vita game is announced, people want a PC version.

Indeed, we all want the games we like on our main platform of choice.

I beg for what I want. It's the only way.

I always tip my hat to your strength of will for still campaigning for a Dino Crisis resurgence.

Curiously enough, could KOEI Tecmo not be tried for the performance of their titles on PC based on Europe law? Or am I misunderstanding how that law works :X

Well the audience for their titles is still bigger on PC, and even if they don't exactly sell amazing on release, they are guaranteed some nice sales as sales come and go, while on Xbox it would just drop off.

what law are you referring to? we already can refund those games, that's it.

besides, not like their games are falsely advertised or unplayable, you know what you get into buying their games. You also know they won't be fixed if you do minimal research.

https://isthereanydeal.com has become useless for me.

Don't knwo why, but it barely loads.

I am searching for a game and it says it doesn't exist. Example...Dark Souls returns with no game exists =/

Whyyyyy

___

Decides to work now.

They just updated the site yesterday. The search bar moved right above the lists, since it's just a filter really.

I got results typing in Dark Souls there.

Nah. Trust me, I'm studying law.
And unless they promised something regarding perfomances, you cant.

Sometimes I read comments here like some SteamGAF users knows more about why/why not companies such as Atlus are not releasing games on Steam (until furthe notice) than the companies themself.

There's lots of easy thinking like "Steam audience is bigger", "It will sell like gangbusters", "They're leaving money on the table".

Honestly, I think the companies themself knows about comments like them, but they have a better understand about the situation of like why Persona 5 isn't on Steam, why Halo isn't on Steam, why Nioh isn't on Steam than some users on GAF.

There's a lot of comments about hos Atlus is backwards in Japan because they won't release Persona on PC. Perhaps there's more to it than that?

Peronsa 5 isn't on Steam because Atlus is a company stuck in the 2000s with ass-backwards decision-making. They don't even allow freaking screenshots for P5.
This isn't hard to understand.

Yeah, there's an explanation: Dumb, clueless companies.
I mean, are we still to that point ? Having to discuss the viability of Steam for Japanese games ? It doesn't mean every Japanese game will be a success. But if the PS version sells well, the chances for good sales on Steam are crazy high. People love to take as an exemple games that bombed. if it was a point, KT would stop making games, period.

Btw, last exemple in date: Nier Automata, close to 300k on Steam.

Nope, Atlus is backwards and a dumbass company and they have proven that over and over and over again. That's all there is to it.

like Sega understood why Valkyria Chronicles wouldnt sell on Steam?
like From Software understood, that Dark souls wouldnt sell on Steam?
like Platinum Games understood that bayonetta wouldnt sell on Steam?
like Koei understood that nothing in their portfolio would sell on Steam?
like xseed?
like Capcom?
like NiS?
like...... everyone else?

Sure, there is more to it, either personal dislike or grudge against the platform (probably Atlus) or someone is paying them to not release it elsewhere.

Literally look at all their fucking idiotic decisions. Look at their dumbass attempt to stop people from streaming.
Look at how they literally made the ONE SINGLE REGION LOCKED PS3 GAME
Atlus is a dumb backwards companies still helding onto outdated shitty business practices. This is 100% fact.

I think I've completely lost my desire to play video games. I got almost 1500 games on Steam and I went through the whole list last night, and there's not a single one I want to play. When I then start one up it being Dishonored, Stalker or whatever, I just quit really quick and have no desire to come back to these worlds. I bought Persona 5 on April 4th and have still to open it up. And I've lost an insane amount of money just collecting games, so I think it's actually more of a bad habit of mine collecting, instead of playing these games for entertainment and joy. I might also just go through a dry spell. Maybe I just need to find new hobbies, like photographing or video editing.

At least I'm enjoying Playerunknown's Battlegrounds and Fifa 17. =(

Because they are a dumb backwards company, yes, thanks, that's my exact point.

Perhaps if they saw your comments they would think you are backwards and dumb.

Im not saying Atlus isn't backwards and dumb, they are to me, the amount of money they could make just by releasing P4G would be stunning. However, on 2 sides, both sides would be seeing each other as the same, backwards and dumb.

This has to be the dumbest argument I've seen lately and I've seen many.

Atlus are backwards and dumb, it's a fact, done. What even is the point of this weird ass "well they think you are backwards and dumb too boo hoo"?

The only real excuse a dev has for not releasing their games on PC in this day n age is because they are being paid money not to release it on PC.

If they don't release it on PC for other reasons then they are dumb and backwards as hell imo. Stupid doesn't begin to describe the big facepalm for not porting to PC.
