wwe loses tv deal due to low ratings -> network subs, social media numbers and youtube views nosedive -> death

OR vince dies/someone else takes his place

what's more realistic
1.WWE isn't going to lose it's tv deal anything soon.
2. Network subs nor YouTube views will nosedive

WCW 1998 lost a shit ton of money which wwe hasn't done.

I thought WWEs shit ratings were the best ratings USA got.

It's still far and away the most watched thing on USA and routinely the highest rated or top five or six most watched show on cable on Monday and Tuesday nights, so yeah. Still the question remains how much can the ratings drop until they decide it just isn't worth the price tag.

When it comes to your posts about ratings then none of it is realistic.

Quiet Vince.

Yes, but they're steadily going down year over year. People have been saying "This is rock bottom for the ratings" for 3 years, and yet it keeps on still going down. So I don't think there's any reason to believe they won't be lower this year. And even lower than that next year.

That's what we call a worrying trend! Unless some changes are made. And we know damn well changes aren't going to be made.

WWE already told shareholders before their last TV deal was inked that they expected a much bigger TV deal than their last one, and pointed to their ratings.

In the end, no one wanted to pay carny fake sports the big bucks, so they ended up getting the same TV deal they had before, money-wise.

Now ratings continue to go down. If they're averaging mid 1s by 2019, they're going to make less on their next TV deal. That's 1996 levels of viewership, and they were on the verge of death then.

That's losing money.

Reminder two months in they were already noticeably disappointed with SD, and that was getting higher ratings then than it is now

Everything falls eventually

Losing money and going out of business are two different things, Like WWE is going to go out of business anytime soon. Like they will make money on thier nect tv deal , will it be more than the current probably not but it won't make them go out of business.

I do think it would be the start of a super downwards trend, though.

If their TV deal goes down, maybe they can't afford to pay Brock and Goldberg the big bucks anymore. Maybe they can't afford that set at Wrestlemania anymore.

Basically, I don't know how they sustain everything they currently have set up with a substantially lower TV deal.

John Cena would be forced to go to Japan and work strong style.

Brock's deal is done next Mania

You guys do realize USA has better ratings than CBS and FOX on Mondays, right? That deal ain't going away anytime soon. A live show is still more valuable than scripted TV and that difference is only going to increase in the next few years.

At this point I can't imagine them bringing him back. He's not a TV draw from what I can tell, and in the Network era you don't need PPV draws.

He'll do the J O B to Roman and finally be done with this carny ass company.

Until he wants money again and goes to work strong style in Japan.

Probably making a fair bit if cash from the UK as well.

He is getting slapped by Roman.

You think New Japan would pay him what WWE will after he quit on company in the past while champion?

I know you like to insult folks who like WWE around here because it's unfathomable to you that someone can enjoy something you don't but can you not associate folks like me with a Trump slogan?

Didn't he go to New Japan after he left the company? I think he just gets bored. Clearly he's not hurting for money. Sometimes he escapes to the Saskatchewan wilderness and hunts some bucks with Sable, other times he wants to fake/real fight.

Anthony still saying ridiculous shit?

Anthony, what's your address so I can beat your ass.

No negotiating will work this time, you've backed yourself into a shoot!

You think he will just retire then or do something else?
He's going to keep coming back and getting paid. Damn. You guys don't understand this shit? Brock likes money. These are easy paydays. Just because dick harry and joe thinks he isn't coming back, what do they know? Arm chair analysts should stay in their arm chairs.

In my case, I'm staying in bed.

How are they becoming a gobal streaming service when they been one for years?
They'll have actual local talent and local shows for other countries. Even TNA has been trying this in India for years, because US TV ratings won't mean shit soon. (Cable TV is dying... I think some people in here haven't noticed.)

Wrestlemania was the first WM streamed live as it happened with Japanese commentary in Japan. We're getting there! Excited for NXT China, India, and UK.
