US PSN Golden Week sale 5/2-5/8

Am I the only one that purchased the Agarest games? I played the demo a long time ago and really liked the gameplay.

Finally a sale for Steins;Gate for me to purchase! Question though: is it recommended to watch the anime before playing the game? Or it doesn't matter?

Skip the anime if you plan on playing the game. You can watch it afterwards for a condensed less good experience.

i want to hit $5 for sony minimum charge reasons

i'm buying suikoden 2 for $3, that's for sure

misadventures of tron bonne worth it at $2.39?

Sure...though one could argue almost any game is worth a couple of bucks.

Now I gotta buy a PS Vita

Legends 1 and Tron Bonne but no Legends 2

I know PSN sales have been doing shit like this for a while but it is still very odd to me.

It's the most engaging visual novel you'll ever play. Fantastic story start to finish. You won't be disappointed if you like a strong story.

Edit: it's also on PC

I'd argue that Danganronpa is more engaging, but by the final third and it's different endings Steins Gate is amazing.

Pretty sure Berseria had a permanent price drop to 39.99 recently, which makes pretty sad that all they did was knock a dollar off the new price. xD

I don't think so unless you're outside the US? I looked this weekend as I was looking to buy something and it was still 59.99, glad I waited until today.

I saw a Wario64 tweet, I think the price drop started yesterday maybe? Hopefully someone else can confirm that, though!

I have a physical version of persona 4 golden but I would like to transfer into a digital version. Can I do that and not lose my saved data? If so, how?

You're right just went thru his Twitter and it was dropped to 39.99 on Amazon and Best Buy. I haven't bought a physical copy of any game this gen since PS4 launch so I would've never found out otherwise.

Is this as low as it's gotten for P4 Dancing All Night? I may pick it up if this is a decent sale price. I skipped it in the past, but kind of want to give it a shot after seeing some footage.(Plus dat Meguro music.)

Any change I'd like Dragon Quest Builders if I'm not into 'building' games?
Depends on why you aren't into them. It's basically minecraft with direction. If a lack of direction, and not the actual building gameplay, is what turns you off, then it's worth a shot. It has exploration that gives a reasonably genuine sense of adventure, characters, combat, a story, goals, progression etc, but the majority of the gameplay still comes down to gathering materials and building. It's just you are building toward a goal instead of pure self-direction.

Got Suikoden 2 for my PS TV. Almost got Ys Celceta, or whatever, but still have P4G and Breath of Fire 4 to get through.

Never mind my PS3 backlog, and Titanfall 2, and Bloodborne DLC, and Sleeping Dogs DLC, and goddamn it, maybe I will just watch Netflix instead.

I got grudge sucked!
Whats the deal with Senran Kagura? From the preview video it looks like a fan service musou type game. Is it one of those where you just fight enemies in an arena type environment or does it have a more traditional map

Be sure to stick with it! It's a very slow start and you'll likely hate the main character but it gets so, so much better.

It's mission-based and sends you into both smaller arenas and larger fields depending on the mission. Sometimes you fight hundreds of enemies, sometimes just one boss after a few enemies.

How's the Digimon game? Interested but would like to see what people think.

Which one? If you're looking at Cybersleuth then yeah it's amazing. Actually my personal GOTY for last year. If you like turn-based RPG action and a great story, you'll enjoy this game.

How is Steins;Gate 0 compared to the original? (I've only played an hour or so, but I like it)

I ended up loving it more than the original, which I didn't think possible. 0 holds you and doesn't let go for most of the game, it was a great experience. Plus Maho.

Cyber Sleuth is an amazing RPG that shares some similarities with Shin Megami Tensei games.

Digimon World is more focused on monster raising. So you're training stats and stuff and don't have control over battles. I liked it but they're very different.

What's the appeal of Steins;gate?
I played it for an hour and was extremely bored of the very VERY slow progression and having to skip through so much text that doesn't at all add to the story. The images of the girls were extremely embarrassing to watch (I was on a plane mind you and am in my 30s), and from my recollection they grunted/gasped ALL the time.

Nier: Automata is the only thing I want, but I also just have too many other games to play. Good to see it hitting $40 already. Hopefully it'll be closer to $20 by the time I'm ready to play it.

Ah ok, I haven't played it yet, but I heard it was a good one, but not as good as Cybersleuth.

Awesome! Looks like both are on sale actually. Big fan of turn based RPGs.

Thanks 🤓
