Guys.

Taking Garland off the D.C. Circuit Court is a terrible idea.

Stop supporting yet another Republican plot to use Trump to seize control of the judiciary.

It's so weird and bullshit too. Oh that guy Obama nominated for the Supreme Court that we didn't even let have a hearing? Yeah he would be perfect to be in charge of the FBI.

There is historical precedent for him to take a leave of absence for the position.

Mensch and Taylor co-published:

Separate sources with links to the intelligence and justice communities have stated that a sealed indictment has been granted against Donald Trump.
While it is understood that the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution means that, until Mr. Trump is impeached, he cannot be prosecuted, sources say that the indictment is intended by the FBI and prosecutors in the Justice Department to form the basis of Mr. Trump’s impeachment. The indictment is, perhaps uniquely, not intended or expected to be used for prosecution, sources say, because of the constitutional position of the President.

Also relevant for people's insanity.

Top Democrats say they won't vote on a new FBI director until a special prosecutor is appointed: http://www.businessinsider.com/demo...director-special-prosecutor-appointed-2017-5?

What this means is if we can get a couple GOP senators to hold out on the vote, we can delay Trump's puppet FBI director.

Which is not going to happen because Turtle gonna Turtle, of course.

Though a confirmation vote split along party lines would send a very bad sign in this case; afaik, most (all?) previous FBI directors were pretty much confirmed unanimously.

great, another Mensch rumor... How about no?

Taylor's sources have corroborated the same information. Or should he be disregarded as well after breaking the Grand Juries story a week before MSM. And also breaking the FBI being granted and executing warrants to raid the GOP consulting firm in Annapolis.

We went through this yesterday. It's bullshit until proven otherwise.

Well it'll atleast test McCain and Graham's resolve. If they are really as concerned about Russia as they say they are, they won't allow Trump to put in the puppet. So that's 2 votes possibly. One more and we have a stalemate.

K. So FISA, Grand Juries, and Warrants out of EVDA is proven. So we shouldn't consider their reporting at all? Even though some of it has been proven, and none of it has been disproven?

They are broken clocks. The sooner people understand this the better.

Yeh cause it must have been just random guessing to report on a FISA warrant and stand by it while NYT and WaPo denied it for months. And just randomly guessing the existence of Grand Jurie subpoenas and warrants executed on the exact day predicted.

I just want to see from ONE Mensch/Taylor detractor a list of all the things they got wrong. Still haven't seen it. Would like to though, I'd rather know the truth then just blindly following or blindly deriding citizen journalists.

Do we trust Breitbart? No, we don't. Because it's mostly made up bullshit that targets what their audience wants to hear. Mensch is the exact same.

But I did enjoy when Chaffetz resig...wait, that didn't happen.

We don't trust Breitbart. Mensch/Taylor cannot be seen as the same when they continue to break stories that MSM corroborates after the fact.

No Chaffetz resignation didn't happen. But him saying he's leaving office early, not going for re-election, and now possibly looking for a new job with FOX news points to Mensch's source being correct in that he's inexpicably and unpredictably leaving early at some point. Sorry Mensch's source couldn't read Chaffetz's mind on the exact process of leaving, but I still mark that one a WIN for Mensch.

Got any more examples of why we should disregard all of Mensch/Taylor's reporting?

You seem to be convinced they are right. Ok. We've litigated this every single time someone posts what they tweet. You can go back and look at those arguments. Repeating those isn't really something I take great interest in.

Getting the FBI search scoop right on the exact day was a pretty big win for them.

Reminds me of drudge on the other side of the isle, back when he was still relatively small time, reporting on the existence of Monica's dress and sticking with it months before anyone else was willing to admit it. Obvi much lower stakes an affair vs potential Russian interference.

Sometimes these low traffic sites get things right and are willing to report on things that other more established news sources won't.

I have no idea of the rest of what they say is right.

But it makes sense that if the FBI has the evidence then this is the way they would carry it out.

I want truth. I beleive what the evidence points to. And from everything I've seen/read on either Mensch detracting or Mensch boasting sides, the Mensch detracting side doesn't have a good argument. I can point to many Mensch/Taylor reports that have been proven true. Detractors seemingly can't point to Mensch/Tayor reports that have been disproven. And any and all attacks on Mensch/Taylor resort to only ad-hominem attacks that don't address their actual reporting.

And this search for a viable countering to Mensch/Taylor spans Reddit and NeoGaf. So again, I ask you, what have they gotten wrong?

I kinda thought that too. They take him off the court then fire him when he's head of FBI. No more Garland.

Yeah, this can't be ignored. It's more likely they have many sources, most of which are not vetted and give bullshit. They don't have much of vested interest in vetting in the first place leading to the current situation.

If they want to be taken seriously, they NEED to do more vetting. You need to be right more often than wrong or you will be mostly ignored except by the fringe. That does not mean we should ignore them, but a caveat should be included whenever information from them is posted.

What they do, and how they do it, make it almost impossible to do what you ask. They "report" in such a way that there are only two real outcomes: it happens, or it hasn't happened yet. Not one of us here have any hooks into the IC, so there's no way to prove anything incorrect except when they claim definitive time frames. And then, if it doesn't happen, they leave themselves outs. They've found themselves an audience that are very eager for their hopes and dreams to come true that they feed into it.

If you are legitimately looking for truth, you need to look at people who have better consistency on what they report, and not such outlandish claims. My favorite baseball player can have a .300 batting average, not reporters.

Yeah, Palos Verdes is where my aunt and uncle live (both super elite doctors) and yes, I can confirm that's an amazingly gorgeous city. Hate to see fucks like Trump sully such an otherwise wonderful location.

Louise Mensch is the L Ron Hubbard of Conservative talking heads.

She's as much of a schill as anyone, the only outstanding question at this point is what right wing outlet is she schilling for.

I cvan say for certain that mensch got wrong a conspiracy theory about Spicer tweeting out bitcoin verifications and calling them accidentally tweeting his password.

It was ether misleading or didn't quite understand what they were looking at.

Nah. It goes like this with their reports:
1) It Happens
2) It Hasn't Happened Yet
3) Something factual happens that disproves the report.

Number 3, doesn't happen. But very well could and all their credibility would be out the door. Find me examples of Number 3.

On Number 1, it happens. It's happened enough times that to think she or Taylor don't have legitimate sources is just plain hating for the sake of hating. If she predicts things with exactr time frames and it comes true why shouldn't she be given credit? You used the Broken Clock analogy earlier. Well a broken clock is right 2 times a day, and wrong the other 22 hours. So where's the over 90% of wrongful reporting you purport they have?

She tweeted that Spicer tweeted out a Bitcoin address and not a password. I don't remember the associated conspiracy theory though.

She tweeted that Spicer tweeted out a Bitcoin address and not a password. I don't remember the associated conspiracy theory though.
Her grasp of computery things is in the enthusiastic beginner category. She also doesn't let facts get in the way of a fabulous theory for instance she was convinced she found evidence of FAA tail number tampering that proved Cohen snuck over to Prague on someone's private jet (I can't be assed to look up the exact conspiracy) and a pilot who knows how these things worked was posting "can someone tell Louise she made an big error in how this all works because she isn't listening to me". But it was clear her mind had already moved on to other stuff.

If someone wanted to demoralize with disinformation she would be a most obvious target to pick. Full timer, big following, enthusiastic ready publish aim attitude, no direct knowledge of arcane legal proceedings, naive with computer info.

I pointed out in a mild way skepticism was warranted and one of her supporters selected two tweets of mine out of thousands to prove I was clearly part of the Russian disinformation campaign. By driving away anyone saying "but..", her hardcore becomes as rigid and blind as an infowars message board.

If she turns out to be right about hidden machinery chewing up trump, I will be happy for her though!

I'm definitely in the wait-and-see mode for these people's rumors. But I would draw a distinction between Mensch and Taylor/Schindler, only because the former was always a crazy person as best I can tell and the latter have histories that suggest they could actually have sources or insight into the inner workings here. They also seem less prone to source-less conspiracy theories, which Mensch seems to like. Although I'd also probably distinguish those kinds of stories from the ones she claims to have sources for.

"deep state" = liberals and big government. Too bad they don't care about people taking advantage of the country for their coffers and those people making the US a worse place.

IC and FBI aren't too worried about Trump's dumb fanbase. They don't have to answer to Trump's fanbase.

Any reason they can come up with to help them sleep at night and continue thinking their Furher can do no wrong.

Would've thought he would just drain the swamp on day one, but what do I know I'm not the extremely intelligent master chess player President.

I'm personally of the opinion we should only use well vetted, mainstream sources for this whole investigation. I don't trust Mensch or Taylor to properly vet their sources or ensure their information is correct, only to make sure it's good enough that it won't be blatantly be shown to be wrong.

Posting information from sources like them only serves to be dramatic about the whole affair, which is the last thing that we need. There's plenty of time to freak out over reporting by CNN, The NY Times, WaPo, etc. without having to go the extremes to find out our information.

Well a quick google search reveals tht Daily Kos says Claude Taylor was a volunteer for Clinton during 1993. Doesn't sound like he was an important Clinton employee at all.

Why do y'all keep posting rumors from garbage sources?

We all know Mensch has the credibility of Cernovich, it's better to leave the breaking news to actual journalists.

There is something very "off" about this whole 110 day experience that doesn't square with what we know for sure in the reliable media.

If there are no sharks circling under trump and - crucially - if he knows he has nothing to fear - he would not behave the way he has been. He would not be incriminating himself, he wouldn't need to fire obama appointees or the head of the FBI. He wouldn't need to suck up to Russians and inflame the state department, the CIA, and half of the conservative talking heads, he wouldn't need to put the whole press offside, and clapper wouldn't be on tv saying the USA is under attack by its own president.

I don't know what's going on, but if nothing is going on, and nothing is going to ever appear that explains these many crazy events, then I am a monkeys uncle. it's just a matter of time. A month. A year. Not four or eight. It's going to be a crazy story but by the end, it will mostly make sense. A huge, oh I see, moment, where things from then on snap back into some normality.

Watching posters in these threads keep wading into that circle jerk is really annoying. Especially hearing "Well they were right about two out of the five million allegations they've thrown out, so maybe...!" The clock on my wall has needed its battery replaced for a couple months now but it's still right more often than these dingbats. Still not a good way to tell the time.

I'm sure its still going to be about this. If Trump thought this would go away by firing Comey, think again.

You mean the letter about the one or two things that may look odd on his taxes wasn't enough either?

Its not going to go anywhere especially since the dumbfuck has to get a new director through. How they handle this will be the first and last question with anyone he appoints.

I wonder what Trump expected to happen, the FBI will just stop investigating his administration etc. Even if he puts a puppet at the top, the people there right now must be ready for it and if the boss oversteps, people will surely hear about it.

We're near the tipping point where, if he gets any more unpopular, the GOP will immediately turn on him. Another idiotic move or some more damaging leaks could put the issue over the edge.

I think the tipping point is still 3 months or so away. Trump will overhaul his staff and the GOP will give him plenty of time to try to right things.

I don't see the Republicans turning on him immediately. Theyd use whatever means they have try to talk him back to a position they find acceptable. Maybe get Justin Trudeau or Xi Jinping to work some president whisperer magic on him if need be. But they'll jump ship only when it's obvious theyve lost complete control and the Pence fallback is no longer viable.

You misread Republicans. They can plug their ears and drown out the noise well after it's obvious to everyone else.
