Played through the story until you get your first arsenal, it's still just as awesome as I remember it. Game looks great considering how old it is. Kind of disappointed that there is still frame rate drops in the xbox version but the PC version has been running great so far.

Can't wait to dive deeper into this tomorrow.

Anyone have luck finding a multiplayer match?

Played a few matches earlier. Quickmatch couldn't find anything but I was able to find games in the optimatch search.

First boot greeted with a strange pop up.

"Phantom Dust needs your permission to: sign in to Xbox live and access xbox live abs partner services on your behalf"

Anyone else have it, seen it before with other games?

I just sorta blindly said 'yeah' but I was wondering the same thing...

Game's just as fun as I remember it.

I played a few quick matches online. For beginners, quick is a game mode that lets every player use a random deck out of a prebuilt pool of them. Lots of fun to jump in if you are starting to understand all the terminology. I played a handful of matches and had absolutely 0 lag. At least nothing even close to the standard delay baked into every cast I remember from back in the day.

Welp I already have 6 hours put into the MP of the game haha. God damn this was such a good game, we really need another one with maybe a 3v3 mode

Just got a little bit into chapter two. I'm starting to get the flow of certain ability combos. Like a levetate combined with a laser is pretty slick as a basic combo, but stacking a heat with an ice or fire shot (the single-use ones) is worth the temporary slower aura recovery if you get that hit in.

The setting is cooler than I expected just based on seeing the cover art years back, but it makes sense with the game director's other stuff (which I've liked right along). So far I've only played on PC, which has gone off without a hitch.

Haven't touched the multiplayer yet, and just finished Chapter 2 of the campaign. Goddamn this game is a lot more complex than I thought! Still wrapping my head around the (currently small) amount of skills I have.

Random question about mp: Can you and a friend be in a duo and matchmake against other duos? I saw a "tag-team" option, but I think that matchmakes a buddy for you.

I sold my XB1 a while ago, but I'm almost definitely buying a Scorpio when that hits, and I'm stoked as hell to play this. I really knew nothing about it till just now. Looks really rad. And it's by the Panzer Dragoon guy!

Man, it's really hard finding a match in this game. I wanna try out the multiplayer, but I can't if no one's wiling to play. :/

All XBL games do this on PC. They make you grant explicit permission to log into XBL on your account. Probably for privacy or legal reasons but I'm not exactly sure.

Unplugging my 360 controller and starting it fixed the issue. I don't know why I tried it; maybe I'm psychic.

This is just like when you're installing apps on your phone. It needs all kinds of permissions to function properly, in this case it's simply for using the Xbox Live functions of the game (MP, friend lists etc). Nothing to worry about in other words.

Heh, I've completely and utterly refused to ever use the Windows store, despite some of the quality AAA offerings.

I can't believe a Xbox port is the game that makes me break that rule.

Thanks for the advice on getting the game through the Multiplayer Pack everyone, off to work now and really looking forward to trying it out tonight :)

Put a bunch of time into the single player, to the point of having arsenals and all that. Playing the game still feels just like I remembered it. It's really fun. Decking enemies with short-range skills is damn satisfying.

I bought some junk early on, but I almost feel like I shouldn't bother until more of the skills open up.

Damn, the PC port is slick and fast. Feels like a brand new game, so little load time I don't have enough time to read the lore snippets on the loading screen. Very happy.

Every time I click play, it boots up the title logo in a window then crashes.

Same thing is happening to me. :(

It's the first time I've had issues with something like this from the windows store.

Conversely I've had this same problem with several games on steam. It all fixed itself after a week or two though. Must have been a update or something that fixed it. Not saying this is the same cause of course. Hopefully there is an easy fix.

EDIT: You playing on a 21:9 monitor as well?

Same here. I don't have the Creator's Update, though.

No, but I have three monitors. I fixed it though.

Just like with Grabbed By The Ghoulies, these OG Xbox remasters are really slick. I'm playing on PC with an XB1 controller and the game runs like a champ and everything runs without a hitch.

I'm a long time Xbox and PC gamer, but it has been a while since I played a PC game with Xbox Live functionality. I think the last one was Halo: Spartan Strike. The Xbox Live interface and functionality used to be bare bones and kinda clunky. Microsoft has really upped there game here of late though and I actually prefer the Xbox Live interface via the PC now over the XB1. Way more snappier and user friendly.

I have an Xbox One controller on PC so I can easily use that but is there a list of the Mouse and keyboard controls?

The game only has Xbox prompts so.

Holy shit. This game looks still great.

There were a few original Xbox games that looked outright amazing for their time, and would likely hold up today in the same way. Panzer Dragoon Orta immediately comes to mind - it looked better than most 360 games for a good while.

So many fantastic games on OG Xbox, that deserve a new life. PDO is definitely one of them. As well as Otogi, to name one.

Boom. Getting to chapter 2 in 30 mins done. Now I can restart the game and slowly go through it at my own pace. :x I wanted to choose Silver, not "Alpha."

Has anyone gotten their dualshock 4 controller to work? It's working in every other steam game right now, yet Phantom Dust isn't registering any input whatsoever.

Have you tried with ds4windows? It works with FH3 so it theoretically should work with all UWP games.

If you're using the Steam Controller API: That's why. You need to make it a X360 controller with a wrapper.

No, but I have three monitors. I fixed it though.

Not working for me :/

I wouldn't be able to play the game if I disconnected my controller, though.

OK, this solved the issue for me. From Reddit:

i've figured it out boys. go to your speakers and set your format to 24bit 48000 hz (default). have fun. (also deactivated other devices but i think its the format to default that did the trick)

re: instant crashes
This is my first Win10 store "purchase" and it's crashing after the splash for me too. Given that someone mentioned an Xbox Live pop-up, I wonder if it's because I ripped components out of my Win10 OS when installing it? I don't remember if Xbox Live was among them, but if it was possible to remove that it's something I probably would have done. Maybe I did and it's causing the crash now.

I doubt all other crash folk have done that, though, so it's probably not that. Just mentioning for +1.

So far so good on my pc. Easy download, booted right up, and I liked how quick it was to make a gamertag to play online . Can't seem to find a full screen option though.

Edit: just noticed people saying alt +enter . Got me to full screen . Thanks

Alt+Enter. This works for other games as well and has since like... last generation. It's a "universal key-shortcut" now a days for switching between windowed and full-screen in games.
