MGSV in next Monthly confirmed.

I would maybe buy it, but it's not even available for me on HB site. Can't find it at all. XD

Vazra

irresponsible vagina leak
Finished Shrouded in Sanity and got ending B. So here are basically the pros and cons.

Pros:
Pretty Cool Atmosphere
Combat is pretty satisfying
The boss fights were pretty cool and unique from each other
Soundtrack was pretty memorable.
Easy Upgrade system
Decent enemy variety
Fair challenge
New Game +
Multiple playable characters

Cons:
Inconsistent art on some areas
Atrocious UI
Weird movement in 1 area but its its just that small area.
If you keep an enemy on a door there is no way to get their souls or item drops cause you will be forced to move forward.

Despite the game visually not being the greatest thing the mechanics are there and the game is super satisfying. Buy it on a sale and have some fun with another 2D Soulslike game.

Tunnelbear VPN is not free anymore.
WHAT SHOULD I USE NOW???

It's still free. The first thing you see when you load the website is a button that says "Get started, it's free". ;) But free accounts don't have access to Australian servers and there's a 500MB monthly bandwidth limit.

Edit: Here are some alternatives:
1) Download and install F-Secure Freedome (no hard limits, but the trial period expires after five days), FlyVPN (20-minute session limit), TunnelBear (500MB data limit), VPN Gate (no hard limits) or VyprVPN (no hard limits, but remember to cancel within 72 hours).

There's also Spotflux if all you need is a US IP.

So I think this question has been asked bazillion times in this thread alone, but what's the right order to play Ys games that are on Steam?

Chronologically:
Origins -> I -> II -> Felghana -> Napishtim -> Lacrimosa (not out yet)

I've played them these way, but you can play Origins after Napishtim if you want to play them as they were released.

👍👍
there really isn't one other than playing II after I and maybe Origin after those two

I'd recommend something like I -> II -> Origin -> Felghana -> Napishtim

Lacrimosa of Dana actually takes place between V and VI

Worth nothing that they can be played in any order since they are mostly self-contained and unrelated. That being said, Ys I and II are basically one game split in two and are probably best played first. They are the only ones that might be hard going back to if you play any of the other ones first.

MGSV is the mother of all stealth games. The gameplay is so good you won't experience anything as polished, fun and as brilliant again for decades. Its a masterpiece.

And @ that price its insane value. There is so much content in that game its not even funny.
I endorse this message

I need to replay the game with that mod that makes the entire game OSP, those are the best missions.

so who's making the Morrowind OT? Release is June 6th but pre-orders can start playing May 22nd (tomorow) so it should be up now no?

Probably no one volunteered to make one, or they're running late, or they think to put it up on like June 4th.
If the game is already playable because of early access for preorders and you feel like making one, I'd say go ahead and create a thread for it.

Deadly Premonition is awesome but it is unplayably buggy for me. Even with DPFix.

Making threads is for competent people.

Im too lazy.

I was thinking about booting up the real Morrowind or Oblivion since I haven't played those in a decade, but then I remembered how long they would take to mod.

That's a day of work!

Why the fuck is it numbered VIII then?

I mean the Ys series isn't exactly known for its story and I wouldn't play them in order of story anyways. Playing Napishtim was hard after beating Felghana since Napishtim was made before Felghana and is a rough version of that gameplay style. I know Felghana was a remake of Ys III but yeah, these games should be played in order of gameplay progression.

Gameplay progression makes sense to me.

Would that be I - II - Origin - Napishtim - Felghana?

Origin and Felghana after Napishtim. Napishtim was the first attempt at that 3D style of combat and just the weaker one overall of those. It's up to you which of those two you wanna play after, they're both really good and one game wont ruin the experience of another.

I know this is for Origin but figured you guys might like to know possibly. ME Trilogy on Origin is $5.19 right now on cdkeys.com. Posted it also in the ME thread but wanted to post here as well since I don't think it's worthy of a topic. Not sure I've seen it for cheaper.

If only bioware points went on these kind of sale so that I could also buy the DLC at a good discount.

Renowned Explorers is the daily deal on Steam today.

The reason it caught my attention is because it was discounted about 10 days ago when the new DLC released.

That new DLC that released 10 days ago is also 50% off in this daily deal.

That seems weird. It either sold like shit or this is a price mistake. I thought it might be a precursor to being in a Humble Monthly but that already happened last year.

Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone was interested.

It was a mistake and their other game, Reus, was supposed to be the daily deal.

He's right, though. Peace Walker really isn't worth anyone's time at this point. Its story is entirely skippable and overall it's just not good enough to put up with all of its issues.
It's the only one of the core MGS titles (1-5, PW) that I haven't been able to complete. Put a good amount of hours but eventually I petered off of it even with a co-op partner. The boss fights are especially bad.

eww you guys reminded me that MGSV exists.
I wish I could forget about MGSV.

Just so that I could experience all its greatness for the first time again.

How does it change the HUD?
I turned off all the in-game stuff for full immersion, but I think it was too much, I'm still waiting for an ideal way of playing the game, I'd love to hear about your (and others') thoughts re mods and HUD (I've read the books bar the last one and I had the game pre-ordered at $48)

I use standard configuration. No HUD at all while you are exploring, you can see minimap when you activate Witcher Sense and during combat health bar and consumables are on screen. Also during Witcher Sense you can have 3D marker that shows where is your next objective.

I finished it but I was really disappointed. I played the HD version shortly before Ground Zeroes' release expecting this missing chapter of the MGS saga, something that was at least on the level of a mainline entry storywise, and it really wasn't. The few gameplay improvements it made were really good but it was way too grindy and its DNA as a PSP game made it really hard to look past the design/tech limitations. Anything PW did well is done way better in GZ and TPP.

Logitech G403 ordered, slowly starting to feel that Destiny 2 PC hype, I just wish we'll get the beta next month and it's not delayed or something..
They really can't go now and say there won't be beta for PC as it's bundled with the pre-orders, that would be a scam.. right?

Next up, if something nice for PC announced at E3 might upgrade my GTX 1070 to 1080Ti, if there's beta I'll get to try how D2 runs with this so here's hoping 1440p60 with High settings is doable.

And don't forget if you have it on Steam you can get it free on GOG via GOG Connect

And no POI at all times I presume? Sounds great.

Think they will correct it?

It seems so, but they can't until business hours for Valve on Monday.

You'd Never Believe The Discount Mistake These Devs Made
Perhaps you may have noticed that RE:IS is currently in a Daily Deal along with all its DLC right after the DLC release promotions. The front page always helps this game grow more succesful, which is something we all want, but in this case the discounts were a mistake that is hard to roll back... oops! The stinging part is that the DLC is actually in a deeper discount than with The Emperor's Challenge release. We realize this isn't great news if you just bought the new DLC. Please know that this discount is a mistake and we weren't out to hurt your trust. All we can do now is be transparent. This is the situation:

Our first game, Reus actually got a long-awaited update just now and we coordinated to have it discounted as a Daily Deal right now. But somewhere along the way RE:IS got discounted instead of Reus (might have to do with these names...). Since we can't cancel a discount without help from Valve the current pricing will probably last until somewhere on Monday. We asked for the DLC discounts to be cancelled at the earliest possibility.

Don't feel bad for acting on the current discount. It's there if you want it and welcoming new fans is always a good thing! This message is just because we want loyal fans to know that we weren't intending to drop this discount on you.

Hello, welcome to Valve's daily deal hotline. Please state the name of your game and the discount you want. Don't worry about anything else, we have crowdsourcing for that.

Devs: I want to discount Reus by 50%.

You want to discount your game, RE:IS, by 50%? Please state yes or no to proceed.

Devs: Yes.

Your game, Renowned Explorers: International Society, will be discounted by 50% on May 21st, 2017. For any support inquiries, please ask a Valve HelpBot™ twice and then speak to a customer service representative; there is no service on weekends or holidays. Have a pleasant day.

Devs: It's all my fault!

KenOD

a kinder, gentler sort of Scrooge
So Humble ran out of MGS V keys. This is the best Konami has done outside of Yu-Gi-Oh! in years.

I wish I could make a joke about it without just making me sad about the state of that company as a whole.

Injustice 2 is too much fun. Lots of varied single player content in a fighting game? What a novel concept. Supergirl is bae.

Hope it comes to PC sooner rather than later, I'll set up a SteamGAF guild for it.
