I just spent a couple hours farming some scraps and the Black Cerberus armor. Then switched to Heavy-duty and sure enough I am absolutely demolishing everything in Area 4 now. I was probably underleveled. Seems level matters a ton in this game.

I wish weapons changed their look when you upgraded them.

You'd think so, but no. The one in the back is easy to miss if you're focused on killing the boss fast. Especially since the legs lose their targeting point when they start spinning so you can only lock on the to the weak point on the underside.

Yeah I didn't lol. I only cut few so we can go to second phase and then straight kill him in a few seconds lol Boss was easy as hell.

I didn't even know about 2.0 weapons. I'll hunt them down in NG+ I guess.

Man, I'm having a blast with the game. Way better than expected.
I didn't like Lords of the Fallen at all, but this one is awesome. Love the movement, dashes, dash attacks, slide attacks etc.

Don't be afraid to check it out, if you only played Lords of the Fallen and didn't liked it.

the only thing level impacts is how much core energy you have (and, consequently, how many implants/what kinda gear you can equip)

what really matters, much like dark souls, is weapon level and fighting strategy.

He's basically saying that some builds aren't viable. You're saying that isn't cheap?

When you're locked in with 14 prof twin rigs and you're late game and you find this shit out... it's insanely tedious to switch to a different setup.

This game is cheap in some poorly designed areas. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional.

i beat the game with twin-rigged and lynx. Was pretty god damn viable throughout the whole game. Found it the easiest way to play by far, in fact.

Only thing i'd call cheap are those damn crystalids that need to be overcharged to be killed. To each his own.

Damn it.
I killed cerberus without chopping his arm. I did blow up the tanks though. Anyway to retry for the V2 wep?

Also, are there no Arm pieces to the Black Cerberus set? I got all the pieces except the arms.

If you
chop his arm, you get arm schematic and weapon V2.0, i mess up once by forget about chopping but i know it could happen so i backup my save just in case and it paid off !

I bought and played for a few hours yesterday. The PC controls are fantastic. Good use of the scroll wheel reminds me of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

I haven't come to the first boss yet. Currently wandering around the dark power plant corridors farming scrap and looking for anything I may have missed.

Loving the fast dodge and attack speeds in the LYNX armour. What armour should I look for later that offers similar benefits?

Unfortunately there aren't many light armor options. You'll probably stick with LYNX for the whole game and switch to heavy near the end.

Ok I'm about ready to throw my controller across the room. The 1st boss isn't going down anywhere close. Any tips? Here's my issue, I'm constantly trying to dodge his attacks because of his huge range of attack and by the time I run up to him I get a few shots in and my stamina is depleted. I have the gist of what I have to do but I can only seem to take a little bit of health away. My gear is about as good as its going to get and I've been grinding too. I'm at level 35.

Those
phalanx
looking bitches man... any way to not get 1 shot by them?
Stay the fuck away. Wait until they swing three times. Get one or two hits in. Get the fuck out.

Try to bait them into their Charging Mah Lazor attack.

They also have some rando 1shot crap that i could never quite see what they do, seems to be ranged.

When it spawns the minor crystalid, focus on that cretin since it can stun you, and the big guy... well, it doesnt fuck around.

they're a pain even with 3 v3-v5 health
---
But really, given how much damage they cause, how dangerous they are, how long it takes to kill them, and their horrible rewards....just run past them. Nearly all are optional.

Ya, I put another health implant in to atleast not get 1 shot. But they're still a bitch to fight. The overcharge prompt is so fucking glitchey too.

Stay behind him as much as possible to avoid the swings. Take one or two hits on his legs and get out.

Alternatively, take one or 2 hits, back out slightly to see what it does. If it raises its leg to stomp, hit the other leg to knock it down. When it's down, hit it in the back or side of the face for massive damage.

You can also knock it down by getting it to hit itself with its own rockets, but you don't get the 2.0 weapon from it if you go this route.

NG+ seems really neat. Although I feel I'll have to stay on top of keeping my armor to the Mk. of the zone, otherwise there's going to be a lot of one shots.

Also, the old Dark Souls exploit of dying > immediately hit PS button > close game > restart at checkpoint before death works as well as it ever has, I won't lie, a few times carrying over 100k+ currency I've abused the fuck outta this.

Oh, and the V.2 Twin-rigged weapon from the second boss is incredibly flashy, it's dope.

I really dislike some of the quest npc placement.

Just fucked up the
robot girl
quest because an enemy aggroed and swung his shit on her

Stay between his legs or behind him so he can't hit you with melee. When he does the special move run out and dodge the rockets so he doesn't hit himself if you want the 2.0 version of his weapon. Resume hitting the legs, when he goes down go to the front, strip off the armor plate and go to town on him.

Oh, snap, selling me on a buy with the bolded alone

Finished the first boss and can travel to the next area with the train.
But there are still 3 closed doors in the first area.
One requires Level 55.
The other can only be opened from the other side.
And the last requires some body / face scan and says something like access denied.

Can i do something there or should I just start the next area for now?

Also found some coin in area one. It was from some kind of mini boss (?). Near the toxic waste place.

That game is great, I dig it.
First area, I now need to head into the underground *gulp* that seems hard.
I kinda like the chainsword altough it's not doing as much dmg.

I'm almost done with zone 4 and the more I play the game the less I like it. Fighting anything more than 2 enemies at the time is a chore. The game simply was't designed for that, even using stuff against the group of enemies isn't great and it's a shame cause I really like combat in this game.
Difficulty is all over the place and even tho I find the game easy I can see people being very frustrated by it. Boss fights are way too easy and zone 4 is just cheap, yep they didn't make it difficult, they just made it cheap.
Levels (game world) are getting boring to tears. I know what they went for with this, but they could have done so much more with it and add a lot more variety.
I can see myself doing a quick NG+ playthrough but not more than that. Kinda makes me sad as I really liked the beginning and I think it was great, but everything is just going downhill now. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good game but it had a potential to be great.

Wait, you sure I need to beat 4th boss?

https://youtu.be/cXLqL8_medk?t=3m28s

He doesn't go through any security door for Jo's third encounter.

Yeah, I *think* you're right. I just got there the long way around and thought it was the only way in there lol

Also, anyone who left Barret alive go back and check him out before you beat the game. True believer, that one :p

I think its after the fourth area, but the story takes you back there so you won't miss them.

I think they respawn again sometime before that? Like in between area 3 and 4? I know I got their gear and weapon + a leftover staff for the sidequest before they became rego enemies after area 4.

Yes. Two will respawn in the Tram station back to Area 1 when you return after finishing area 3.
That was the earliest I saw them as a repeatable fight
Theres also one of the
stronger dog/spider/whatever robot
you see more commonly after area 4 with them so watch out for that

So to clarify, you can only get upgrade materials from the armor you cut off the enemies bodies? Because I can't seem to find any Mk.III anywhere to upgrade further.

Also, that shortcut in the Biolabs is one helluva trek.

Yup and each body part has it's own unique material, so if you need to upgrade your arms, you need to cut arms for example.
