Any of you want to play now? I'm dying for some action since my group didn't show up yesterday and today. 2 days without Siege is like eternity !

Yea the one on club house is a good example.

You can just Chuck a impact grenade and get the thermite charge
If I'm in a room and a Thermite charge is going off on non-reinforced wall or floor, I'm going to shoot it every time and neither the hatch nor the floor would get blown open.

But most of the time it seems people either don't know you can do that or don't care, so this is worth trying in spots.
I was using non reinforced hatches as an example because I was alone in the game. It'll work on reinforced hatches as well and you can't really tell if it's on the reinforced hatch or on soft floor when you do what I showed there, certainly not in the heat of the moment. People are conditioned to move away whenever they see a Thermite charge on reinforced hatch. Not many people know this can be done so they will just assume that it's on the hatch and it's about to blow up and take cover accordingly instead of figuring it out by carefully looking at the placement and then shooting it.

I can guarantee you that it'll work everytime, there is a reason people use it in Pro league ;)

I mean in club house the hatch above the basement where one of the bombs are is a soft floor.

If you try you to thermite the reinforced hatch using that method, a defender from below can toss a impact nade and get the thermite.

Yes but it's not exclusive to clubhouse, they can do it anywhere the attacker tries to do this method (meaning anywhere with a soft floor next to it).

The important thing to realise is that for a defender to be able to do that they have to be able to tell if it's on a the hatch or to the side, it's not that easy to tell because it's so close to the hatch it's more than likely that defenders will not think about shooting it and take cover instead as that's how most people react when they see exo charge near the hatch. And they will certainly not pay careful attention to it to figure out where the charge is if it's done during a multidirectional push which is how I like to open my hatches.

Yeah I understand your test, I just meant the floor itself not the hatch specifically. If the thermite breach is lighting up over the soft floor, which it would be even with a reinforcement on the hatch, you shoot it. I don't think it's as hard to tell where they are being placed as you, but I'm also usually playing the objective more than roaming. I try to call out where the breaches are being planted before are before they are triggered, so I'm typically looking in that direction already.

Using this trick as part of a coordinated push could be very effective though.

Matchmaking has been near instantaneous on PS4 (Oceania) since the patch that changed how Casual matchmaking works, and we haven't even gotten the 1-Step update yet. I hope that doesn't somehow increase the time. Also I played about ~15 matches yesterday with a friend and we didn't lose a single one because we kept being matched against scrubs despite having okay rank.

I've seen some people playing for hours on the TTS and the matchmaking was pretty much instantaneous. Which isn't bad considering how few people are on it, I'm sure.

But we'll see once it's out for real.

I'm not the best thread maker, was mainly curious to see if anybody watched it since the finals are on today/tomorrow.

I'll be watching it on the side. I enjoy the Pro League stuff but the spectator tools (& camera work) need a lot of work before it becomes something truly exciting to watch.

Missing half the kills in a round is just blah.

Too true, but you gotta love it when the spectator cam bugs and you see a Valkyrie clutch the round out with her camera in hand.

Ha, the invis guns and casters ignoring the visual glitches are great.

Hopefully Ubi takes some notes from popular MOBAs and Counter Strike on some spectator features that are sorely needed. Stuff like grenade trails and a minimap would be great. And just generally more usage of the static camera in bigger fights combined with less flickering through different view points in short succession could really elevate the viewing experience.

My favourite was seeing a Pulse knife an Ash through a wall after seeing her on the heartbeat scanner and the casters were both dumbfoundedly trying to rationalise how it happened for a solid minute 😂

Oh I remember that one. Club house basement right? That was hilarious. They flick to his camera and he's in a completely different place.

Can the 8 operators from the year one season pass that come with the Complete Edition be acquired in game or is that bundle the only method?

Really shafted myself by buying the starter edition but I suppose the upside is there's some operators I just have no interest in playing.

I don't see the year one pass on sale anywhere.
I'm guessing it's different for the starter edition since on Xbox it's there when you go to the operators tab

They removed the smoked from ash and thermite lol

Yeah trying to nerf Glaz some. They moved the smokes to Jackal and Fuze. Trying to make those characters more useful and bring the pick rate down a little on Ash and Thermite, and boost Jackal and Fuze.

Also making it from 2 body shots to down with Glaz to 3, and making recoil a bit more. This Brazilian team in the finals is really good, but Penta is too.

Penta showed some true dominance in the finals. They seemed a lot smarter with the map bans too which was really in their favour.

They'd been in the pro league before but they didn't make it last season and played their way in this time from the Go4 matches.
They been in it since Y1S1, won it in the very first season too but I think Pengu is the only original member of the team.

Edit: I'm not sure on most of their members, but I know Falko used to play for Yunktis. They won in season 2, then disbanded in season 3 due to not qualifying for LAN.

On PC with a decent opponent the peeker's advantage is super obnoxious. God help you if they are playing Glaz and have an idea where you are. Casual should maybe have a headshot multiplier instead of insta-dead. DMRs would be enough to one bang but smaller calibers wouldn't. Too late for that now I suppose.

Remembering to counter-peek is a big skill that I thin separates average from good. That and patience.

Still not keen on the vague timeline for Operation Health. I mean, at least they've sort of defined the three months now.

But I'm pretty apprehensive with the TTS > PC > Consoles workflow. I'm not criticising its logic, it's probably the best way to test patches but it really doesn't give console players an idea of when they're going to get these fixes.

Think the lead time is around a week for the platform holders to review something, isn't it? I think they'll have a better idea for the timetable after the first rollout.

They did say that the back end is moving to faster, more robust servers. I think that's the first step if I read the timeline correctly.

I hear you. FWIW every game has it, it's just more noticeable in this game because a single headshot kills you or only a few body shots. Overwatch can get away more because each enemy takes many shots to take down (though I do like the game).

Can't wait till que times actually reflect this

Number of players doesn't always have shorter queue times.

League of Legends is one of the biggest games in the world and most queues for that take 2-5 min, especially in ranked if your not at the bottom of the ladder.

Ubi needs to fix the consistency of the matchmaking, not really work on the times imo. A 2-3 minute search for a good quality game would be optimal.

If consoles want faster updates then they need to unshackle patches from the certification process. EA uses the same thing for Battlefield, where they can rapidly iterate on the PC test version. Worked great for BF4.

It's more the staggering of the patches and what happens at the (seemingly inevitable) moment when Ubisoft are having trouble with a patch on TTS? I just think if they set a strict deadline for each fix etc. , the healthy game state on all systems would seem tangible.

This may be a minor thing but not making noise separates the average from the good. I've had too many times where I was able to take out a guy easily because I heard him or her slightly moving around in a corner. Maybe this isn't a thing in ranked (I wouldn't know since I've just started playing the game) but this seems to be a thing in casual. With good headphones, you can literally hear everything around you and if the enemy improperly moves near you, you will know basically where they are.

I don't think you are. The only thing that implies any chronology is the 2.1 and 2.2 patches, and those are arranged left-to-right unlike the back-end stuff.

Since they said one-step matchmaking is going to go into another week of TTS, I'm not sure what the fuck to even expect on Wednesday. I'm kind of expecting nothing. Like a new title screen and that's it? Who knows.

I think the most important fix they've promised is the 100% client-server services. The current system is probably quadrupling queue times. So many games that just don't get started because 1 player doesn't make it to the final lobby.

The way I read that panel is that not only was a lot of this health stuff that they promised not ready to roll out in last season like originally planned, but they're behind getting it out on this season.

Maybe Wednesday will prove me wrong but I've got a bad feeling about this.
