EDIT: it's a new internal division

Also their Twitter: https://twitter.com/MSStudiosBlog

Hopefully something to do with their Japan visit?

Microsoft has been pretty bad with naming lately. There's been:

Microsoft Fluent Design Language
Xbox Design Lab
Microsoft Studios Global Publishing

None of those names inspire me to the same extent as "Metro", "Moto Maker", or...well, to be fair, it's just a publisher label.

Looks like somebody quickly put two different logos together in MS Paint. But it's not really different now: this MS Global Publishing was previously responsible for working with external companies, and thus responsible for Quantum Break, Recore, or Ori. They simply didn't appear as a public brand

Microsoft Studios in general were also responsible for Halo, Kinect Sports, and other games created by first party studios. Those weren't from Microsoft Studios Global Publishing. It's still weird that those games don't seem to appear on a separate Microsoft Studios website now.

Design Lab is really neat tho.

If I remember correctly there is also a new Microsoft studios website being built, who knows what changes or information we will get from that. Its probably to coincide with this rebrand, I would also point out that this is probably two different logos. Microsoft studios logo would pop up on the title screen if it was a internal first party game, were as if it was a first party publishing deal like Quantum Break it would pop up with the Ms studios logo first then the Global publishing logo. They are probably just trying to fit it into one image.

Edit: oh shit the new websites up didn't expect that, actually it seems that global publishing has taken over the website completely with Microsoft studios publishing completely missing. They must be trying to make them two separate publishing labels.

Under games, none of those studios' titles are listed anymore.

Yup you're right, the games of the main studios (Halo, Gears, Forza, Sea of Thieves) are not on this website. I don't understand why they would create two separate brand, one for the main internal studios and one for the external projects like Ori and State of Decay.

I don't understand why they don't create a new website/URL for those and keep the Microsoft Studios website to 1st party studios then. Now it's a bit confusing if all communication for those is only handled through the studios themselves.

What's wrong with Xbox Design Lab? Lol

Guessing that they might have some Japanese games and rather than having a whole entity just for a few games they'd rather extend what they have to cover it.

That logo is atrocious.
