Edit: "Silver and Black"? Ugh.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
October 2018?

This coming out the same year as Venom would be weird enough. But in the same timeframe? Naw. I really hope these are inventive and fresh movies that can stand on their own. I'm skeptical as fuck though.

Is that a prequel to Catwoman?

LOL No, but I wouldn't be surprised if they cast Black Cat as a Black woman like they did Catwoman and use Janet Jackson's song for the trailer and movie. LOL

I was kind of surprised Beyond the Lights was not name dropped as it was fairly recent and decently reviewed.

Beyond the Lights is really good. Yeah, I was confused why they only credited The Secret Life of Bees.

I am trying to think of a reason Black Cat and Silver Sable would spend more than 5 minutes together without Spiderman involved.

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
KIll it, Kaz. Take it round the back and shoot its brains out.

Y'all wanted Marvel to have Spidey back. 💅🏻

As bad as this may seem, I guarantee you Sony's original plans pre Spidey-MCU were WAY worse (Just dig into the Sinister Six movie and their plans to eventually lead into Maximum Carnage and the Clone Saga)

Whenever Spider-man's not on screen all the other characters should be asking "where's Spidey?"

Okay someone needs to explain this to me.

Spider Man himself is locked into this Marvel partnership deal, yes? Sony can't use him in non-MCU films until that deal expires? So we have an absurd universe peopled exclusively by Spider Man's rogues gallery?

Fine, okay. But what's the rule for Spider Man characters appearing in MCU films then? If Sony's still making non-MCU films with these characters, does that mean they aren't included in the deal? Like, Spider Man Homecoming has Vulture, the Shocker. Can those appear in Sony films? Would they need to be recast? Can Tom Hardy Venom appear in an MCU film? If not, can Venom the character appear in an MCU film at all?

God sony is so depserate to have a cinematic universe that they are doing one without the main character...i cant, this might be the most assenine decision ive seen made in hollywood since warner bros thought that king fucking arthur would get them six movies. I hate that everyone is so franchise thirsty now, seriously the block buster movie buisiness is swirling down the drain now and eventually people will get just as fed up as i am with this desperate cash grab run to catch up with marvel.

No one ever said that.

Sony is making a Spider-Man animated movie separate from the MCU as we speak.

To be fair Silver Sable is a Queen, in fact her country is right next door to Latvaria. and she has Sandman and her own black captain america

I can't even begin to imagine how you would create an 24 pages story about Silver Sable and Black Cat, much less an entire movie

Well sure but who cares about that. Live Action Tom Holland Spider Man I mean, I think that's pretty implicit.

Tom Holland's signed up for 3 solo movies with Sony, and we know Sony's deal with Disney is only for two (for now). So that premise is probably not even right.

Sony doesn't seem to get that the whole point of "cinematic universes" (ugh) is that they're comprised of characters that can easily stand on their own as leads of their own franchises. That's where the thrill comes from seeing big characters you love all coming together and interacting with each other. But this thing they've got going on? Venom? Black Cat? Silver Sable? Literally none of these characters can stand on their own without being tethered to Spider-Man in some way or form.
