ARMS Global Testpunch Thread: Let's see if this has LEGS

It's really polished but yeah, I don't know if it has LEGS.

There doesn't seem to be a ton of strategy to playing it. That could develop once people gain experience though.

I dislike the whole party feel, I want to fight 1 on 1 not a three FFA or volleyball, after this hour is up I doubt i'll play the other tests over the weekend.

The game is fun, just feels like a party game somewhat to me.

Go back to the main menu and look at the name of the mode that is available.

You guys need to stop making definitive statements based in your first time playing the game. It's embarrassing. We can't say anything about long term viability of any of the characters or control schemes after fucking 35 mins

Just gave the game a good 30 minutes play, finished on a perfect win for that high note.

I can get behind this, I would've liked to try motion controls but I'm using the console in handheld mode as opposed to boiling up in my room throwing fists.
Really seems to have a solid basic formula down, a fighter that takes a more direct route at its core to just land your blows with the gimmicks coming into play on a simpler but much more variable scale.
Gave every character a go, the arms themselves seem like the greater variables but I may be wrong.

After Mario Kart's online being a bit of a jumble I was really surprised by how fluid the party lobby idea was in getting you in to the action with no fuss.
Volleyball had more to it than I expected, it's a nice diversion from the fights but even so, it can't come close to a hard fought matchup.

I'm impressed... enjoying the game much more than I thought I would. There's some interesting stuff to be had. I don't think it's shallow at all actually as far as 1v1 goes. I'm intrigued enough to pre-order.

Yeah, after testing both motion control and pro controller for a few matches I gotta go with the pro controller being way more comfortable for me to control.

The modes that rely on objects like Volleyball are really bad when it lags. I don't know if it looked like this to my opponent but they were just standing back pretty much doing nothing and the ball was just flying to my side of the court and would explode mid-flight, giving them a point.

I PERFECT someone.

Yeah, I've got a couple perfects now. Game's new and I feel a lot of people don't grasp the concept of each action being a counter (grab beats block/whiff, etc.) so a lot of the players are really easy to abuse lol.

This game is really confusing to play and 3 player is hella dumb.

Also volleyball????? Wtf was that?

Man idk how can this even be played competitively? Will people be consistent? There's too little options.

For some reason, my right joycon just stopped interacting with the system. It was still on and had a good charge, but none of the inputs worked.

I beat someone using just my left fist.

I like it a lot more than I thought I would. Will play tomorrow and Sunday for sure. It's fun and you can easily take advantage of everyone just tossing out punches haphazardly.

I'd have to spend an hour plus in training mode or could just redo the tutorial over and over right now because I can't get movement down and everyone I've played online has destroyed me.

Okay, is there some kind of trickery to moving properly with motion controls? I can't actually move for crap unless it clicks into non-motion and lets me use the stick. Really wish that it would just let me use the sticks and motion controls together... then again, maybe I'm doing it wrong? Same for "guard" seemingly launching grabs 90% of the time. I'm sure I'm doing something horribly off, as this doesn't feel right at all...

Don't really like switching the targets in the three way fights and the 2v2 fights are just way to chaotic. Really enjoying the 1v1 and the V-ball fights though. I haven't found motion to be a problem at all in the 1v1 fights. Going to try the controller soon though.

My brain is still trying to process all the information it is receiving lol. I find myself trying to move the camera somehow and turning to move my character, I'm sure it'll be much better once I'm past that. So far I like it but I don't see it being that much of a competitive game, great for mad fun though.

One thing is you need to use the joy cons vertically.

Grabs are annoying, it's very hard to react like wtf

I can only see this being exercise for me to be honest

2 questions

1. How do you switch targets?

2. How do you fast drop as Ribbon Girl?

Thanks!

EDIT: Found the answers in game, sorry.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
So I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious but cannot figure out to move to save my life. Playing motion controls.
