Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers |OT| Retro Salt At Twice The Price!

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
So I bought a JPN copy on the eshop because I still had money on that account and I can't seem to download it on my USA account unlike all the other games I've bought on my JPN account.

Sucks.

That's weird. It shouldn't think they're the same game- I just got the cart from Amazon and the system recognizes it as a separate game, unlike some other games I've double-dipped on digitally and physically like Mario Kart.

About to load it up to see if the U.S. version recognizes my ranking or if it treats me as a different player.

The American version doesn't recognize my saved settings and unlocked titles from the Japanese version, but it did sync up and keep my ranking...awesome!

I think I'm going to delete the Japanese version. It defaults my region to Asia, so I'm getting matched up with less players and a lot of people tend to use the same region settings for versus instead of any region.

It works, I just can't download the USA eshop copy of the game with english language instead of japanese.
It's probably related to how crazy the publishing situation is for this game. I would imagine that if the game was released by one publisher in every region, you'd be able to download any region's build.

I just can't bring myself to pay $40 for this when it was originally $15. And Capcom is going to base their support on this game's sales? Well, there goes Capcom out the door(besides Monster Hunter XX).

Who else is avoiding because of the (over) price?

ME.

Because of the price and the stupid motion controlled stuff.

Faced a player from Chile and Canada and everything is smooth on a 5 GHZ Wifi. I'm really enjoying this game

Hey everyone,

Been years since i've seriously played a SF game. Having a lot of trouble with Ryu. My muscle memory has me trying to do the Forward + MP "collar breaker" move to a crouching opponent. I feel like ive done this a TON in the past. Yet in this version, because of the Forward + Punch = throw command, i keep throwing guys im trying to collar break.

Anyone else having this problem?

Fuck me so far USFII is just brilliant! Already managed to make three opponents rage quit online :D Finished Arcade twice and Way of the Hado is actually a lot of fun even though I highly advise everyone to first try the Dojo to study the motion controls. Only one which won't work properly for me is Tatsumaki. It work's fine in Dojo, but not in the actual levels. They should fix that asap, because it adds variety.

Color editor's cursor and brightness moves super slow and thus isn't fun to use. Am I doing something wrong or is it the same for you guys?

Yep, the cursor is very slow. I tried using different stick combinations and holding different buttons but it never sped up. It's easier to use the touch-screen instead.

Rocking between the diagonals is about the best advice I can give. So if you're trying to move right on the grid, rock from up-right to right to down-right and back. Slightly faster than just holding right.

Enjoying this game so far, but dear lord do I need a better pad or stick lol. Keep getting accidental jumps while charging with chun.

Ah man...tempted to grab this after hearing the online is good <_< And I've been having a blast with HD Remix, just wish it was slower and had easier AI...this qualifies for both!

EDIT: Screw it, off to the eshop I go. Damn my weak willed ways ;_;

Hahaha, is "salt" going to be in every Switch game OT?
Can't wait for the OT of a potential Salt & Sanctuary port: Salt & Sanctuary |OT| Salt Salt.

@Topic, I was interested in this game, but I'm not a Fan of the new artwork (and especially the zoomed image with the black border) and also the price is a huge nope for me :|

Technically it was originally $5000...

And then technically $80ish. I was able to get one game as a child every year. This was my first. Used to ride my bike around the neighborhood looking for local kids to demolish. .... maybe that's why I think $40 aint bad.

Even if it's the worst version of SFII possible (some say it might be) I'm still happy I got it on my switch. I'll be good at this wonky unbalanced version too.

This is pretty fucking fun tbh. I played about 10 ranked matches and its bringing back memories. I just wish the game speed was a bit faster.

I need an arcade stick badly even the SNES30 aint cutting it. I'm gonna get blisters lol.

price I get but what's it to you that there's a mode you never even have to look at?!

Just think it was a waste of their time and don't want to encourage this type of stupid gimmicks in future games. And probably outs one of the causes why this game is more expensive than it should be.

Game is tight. Works perfect with the Pro and even quite well with the side-joycon. I suck at playing fighters with analog sticks, bit here I was doing hadokens and shoryukens with ease.

Online worked well, first time online won twice.

Been playing with the remastered visuals and the original sound. Editing colors is cool, Way of the Hado is fun as somnething random, but nothing big.

Got it for half the price though. XD

SF2 The World Warrior was the first game I got with my SNES and playing this game right now on the Switch with the SNES30 pad is bringing back all kinds of feels.

My only wish was that you could go full retro and enable the classic announcer, hud, and ending animations. Otherwise I'm really happy with this port.

EDIT: Kind of messed up that you can pick Evil Ryu/Violent Ken/Akuma in Ranked :\

My biggest complaint.

i also think there is a missed opportunity to see which character your opponent is choosing so you can adjust your strategy accordingly.

As it stands, character select in the middle of a 3 match lobby only opens the window for someone to spam one of these three characters when they're on the losing end.

If they're not going to let you see who the other person is picking, they should probably consider closing character select in matches 2 and 3

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Ranked is fucked eternally due to Akuma/Evil/Violent.

Like did anyone play test this? If so how did they think this was a good idea?

Pretending its an arcade and I've already got my moneys worth (eg: $1 = 1 credit arcade style). Playing it while AI boosting in Injustice. Having so much fun, more fun than Hyper Fighting and HD Remix were on the 360.

Playing with pro controller. Whenever I'm on the right side when I try certain moves like ryu fire ball, I'm hitting off the left stick. Very annoying

Also Where are the bonus rounds?

I'm enjoying it. My thumb is in pain lol but I'm happy with purchasing SF2 again for what must be tye 10th time I think. The non D pad D pad does a pretty admirable job but I'd still like a better controller option. It can definitely get the job done on the go though.

Luckily most people picking Evil Ryu/Ken are garbage and have no idea what they're doing. Gotta love day 1 fighters.

But yea, not looking forward to online devolving into broken characters sooner than later.

Also rolling my eyes pretty hard when the other player counter picks with one of those characters after you beat them the first match.

A. It's $31 on Amazon with Prime

B. This isn't just a port. There's actually a lot of new content that was never in the old versions of HDR. So, that $15 price tag doesn't have anything to do with this game.

This is the top selling game on US Amazon right now. I'm consistently surprised at how well Switch software is moving.

I split this with a friend for $20 and I still feel a bit ripped off lol.

There's not much here and the motion control mode is fun for like 2 minutes. Oh well it'll still do fine for random matches when people are over

I appreciate (and agree with) the concept... But I gotto have mah 6 face buttons. This is a Capcom fighter after all.

That's why I like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters on the SNES. Plays like SF but based on 4 buttons. Doesn't look bad either.

Been playing it quite a bit on my Vita recently. Mortal Kombat too. Bit of a shame there isn't really a good modern controller with 6 buttons these days. I guess you'd just get a fight stick. Probably isn't worth it on a handheld. Really gotta find my fight stick!
