This roster is slowly becoming legit:
They're different characters and Firebrand doubles as a rep for the Gargoyle's Crest series.
Cole and Evil Cole are in their own realm of BS.
My thoughts exactly.

Horrible roster imo. Probably going to be a hard pass unless they end up adding a lot of new things with DLC later.
I like how the Marvel side focuses on current/upcoming movie characters (but like no Panther tho) while most of the Capcom side hasn't had a big game since, like, the Dreamcast days

Honestly in the long term of MvC3 how many characters did we see on the regular? When was the last time you saw Jill, Arthur, Hsien KO, etc. etc. being used.
If all the characters are fun to use and aren't being shoe horned in I'm fine with 28 to start.

He's not happy with the full roster either, especially with no X-Men. He's just happy that he has a team to get excited for, like how everyone is happy Jedah is in it.
We're all desperate to find something in this game to be excited for.

Anybody who thinks the Sony Smash bros rosteris better then this needs to get their head back on straight.
That game got Donte, famous sony character and not xbox Big daddy, RAIDEN over snake, and Zeus over dart and some dead space guy as picks.
The dude from dead space got in over Cloud, Lara Croft, Crash, or Spyro.

Sony had a choice, they could of given super bot their blessing and gotten the rights to these characters, instead they pretty much ignored super bot
Yeah I don't think you know how stuff like this works, it's not that easy securing really popular characters owned by others. Especially for PSBR which was a new IP and getting mostly negative vibes since its reveal and just being called a Smash rip-off.

Sony absolutely had a choice if they wanted to make something to compete with Smash bros. They had to go all in and throw money at these companies to get the characters if they didn't have enough of their own franchises to fall back on. Konami's Smash Brothers game had a better roster than Playstation All Stars. This is of course completely different as Capcom has to follow what Marvel allows/wants them to use.

Surprised by the lack of other Resident Evil characters like Leon and Claire for the upcoming RE2 Remake/Leon just being popular anyway. I mean, Nemesis again? Really? Bizarre choice.
Why put them in now when they can just charge for them down the road closer to RE2 remake's release?

I bitch to everyone about how the MCU has become a monkey's paw wish from my childhood. I just want it all dialled back so that it isn't a severe annoyance. Every time it's the same damn handful of faces popping up constantly because posers are the easiest and quickest way to make a buck, and they only comprehend the most generic things (at least in the minds of the higher-ups).
I used to be excited about this stuff, now it's like a prostate exam. It sucks, it hurts, but you still need to know the end result.

The launch of SFV should have prepared us... But it still sucks to not have him.

The reality is comics don't make money. It's all about the movies. Everything Marvel does from here on out is to expose more people to the MCU.

Yeah, the MCU kind of has a drawback in that stagnates everything else. Like you'll get interesting stories or cool callbacks to old comics in the movies, but in the comics and other adaptations, everything is basically catering to be more like the movies, instead of their own thing.
Anyways, I've cooled off about the roster. I think the Marvel side is more or less fine given Marvel still being petty about the Fox stuff, though the Capcom side is pretty weird overall. One thing I do kind of wonder about people who complain about the Marvel side is what they would have gone with in a situation where you still have to have constraints. Prior to the full leak, I was dreading the idea Jill 3.0 in the form of Black Widow, and Star Lord with space guns, but in the end it was Ant-Man and Gamora who have much more interesting potential for movesets (though I'll also say there are probably better picks than Gamora like Ms. Marvel when it comes to movesets). And to that end, I wonder how people would spread things out if they could only have four newcomers or in the case of the Fox characters, how they would make a roster of 14 Marvel characters with four of them being newcomers. Prooooobably a lot of people axing Hawkeye and Nova.

Also not to single you out but were people actually happy with how Phoenix Wright turned out in UMvC3? I love PW but i'd rahter they don't bother if the end result will be like that again.

My excitement is pretty much gone.

Not all fighters make it to every iteration of a game. Can't wait for this to happen more in Smash Brothers and some of the "clones" can get original moves if they are brought back.
