There might be a new Jay-Z album on the way.

Bear with me, but there's some credence to what this topic is about.

1) So, very recently, sites like The Fader and Hypebeast have had this image pop up in their ad space.
08923c26-25b7-41ce-9914-a9cabb0be899

Now, when you look at the source code of the sites hosting the ad, you see it's titled "Tidal 4:44 1280x720", at least it does on The FADER.

2) Someone on Twitter remarked that this same ad popped up on the Jay St. subway station in New York. Said station is in Brooklyn. Also, in Times Square this popped up,

3) Jay's playing some festivals toward the end of summer. He's playing Made in America (his own festival), the Meadows, and Austin City Limits. This is in addition to his 10-year touring exclusivity deal with Live Nation. This suggests that something is on the horizon that he intends on touring.

Now, of course, this can just be complete nonsense and this isn't really for Jay at all, but I like my random music conspiracy theories, so I guess let's wait and see.

I would have been excited in 2002 but now I don't really care. Aside from Oceans his last album was mediocre at best.

On the basis of his last 2 albums, Jay-Z doesn't have it anymore. He should stop putting out trash and quit tarnishing his legacy.

I liked Magna Carter Holy Trail and BP3... but my fucking goodness JayZ's flow is garbage. Those two albums have great production in certain spots that a hungrier MC would kill.

If you take his whole catalog he has an insane amount of sick tracks...then the second half matched it in meh and wack shit.

I went to a show on the Magna Carta tour. The amount of hits in that catalog is exhausting. 2nd half of the career fell off, but can't debate the hits.

he should have retired with the black album [you know, like he wouldn't shut up about at the time].

better to leave on an incredible album, than all the drivel we've gotten since.

Stop this nonsense.
One, his Pound Cake verse is good, that's not a bad sequence there and even if it is the rest of the track is quality, like did you miss the closing lines?

Also this feature narrative is ridiculous, let's really pretend like these aren't some of the best verses Jay's ever spit, brehs would be ejaculating in their pants if these were Andre 3000 features, we're not even going to count pre-2010:

So Appalled.

Etc etc etc.

Let's not even talk Watch The Throne verses or a few of his great ones on MCHG.

American Gangster is his best album lyrically as far as I'm concerned, and Blueprint 3 is quality and fairly adventurous from Jay.

If American Gangster came out pre-Black Album it would be just as hailed, maybe even more.
And why when people trash Jay's post Black Album output why don't they point out that Blueprint 2 was hot garbage and that it came out pre-Black Album or that The Dynasty while good wasn't much special at all?

Looking forward to this new effort. Let's see what the old man has left in the tank. His last 2 releases have been shit, at least to me. Tbh everything after Black Album (American Gangster being the lone exception) has been shit as well. Kingdom Come grew on me after awhile but still.
