The phone looks ridiculously similar to the iPhone to say the least

Wow, it looks like an iPhone lol.

I didn't realize they were already 5 phones in either.

Technically this is the 4th iteration, but they skipped the number 4 and went straight to 5 because in Chinese, the word for 4 basically means death and they're super superstitious like that.

OnePlus One (2014)
OnePlus 2 (2015)
OnePlus X (2015)
OnePlus 3 (2016)
OnePlus 3T (2016)
OnePlus 5 (2017)

So 6?

Can't get any worse than Street Fighter numbering, so it's not that bad

wow, way to be blatant about stealing a design. Is that why it's cheaper then other phones, because they save so much on designers?

I'd actually like an iPhone copy, I just hope it was more like the iPhone 8.

I'll probably buy it before the lawsuit. I have the X.

That name is horrible. I thought it was a math equation but now I get it. The last number is the version of the OnePlus.

Phones look pretty much the same nowadays anyway. Don´t give a shit if they stole the design from apple.

Glass-touchscreen front, back with flash and camera(s). Boom, every phone today. Will probably upgrade from my OnePlus One.

I don't think that level of similarity is even legal. Didn't Apple sue Samsung for less?

Nah, even within the smartphone design paradigm this is a pretty blatant ripoff.

Huge bezel, non uniform thickness and a ~3000mAh battery for the sake of thinness, and if the Indian prices are to be believed, ~$550-600? Pass.

Still rocking the One Plus X, love it because of the smaller size. Wish they (or some other company that makes decent quality phones for cheap prices) would put out some smaller phones again.

Yeah, I'm beginning to regret not splashing the cash on a 3T before it was delisted.

Meh, I'm also still rocking an OG one but I am getting kinda sick and tired of the size. I just think I look like a major dork with the phablet poking out of my pants pockets all the time ugh. Thinking of going iphone this next time around and will probably give the one to my brother as it's an upgrade to his current phone.

The iPhone One Plus.

How can they claim the design was five years in the making when they just copied the iPhone 7 Plus released nine months ago?

The creative bankruptcy on display here is too much. Which is a shame, as I was a skip away from buying the OnePlus 3 over my ZTE Axon 7. Glad I didn't. This is a wholly uninspiring phone.

Man that price point would be a damn shame, the whole point of these phones is the same or stronger hardware for a lot less.

Yeah, I'm beginning to regret not splashing the cash on a 3T before it was delisted.

The gunmetal is still available on their website, unfortunately it's the 64GB model.

Loving my OnePlus 3 which will last me another year or two so I see no need for an upgrade now.

Same. Been really happy with it for the last 11 months and have absolutely no reason to upgrade within the next year or so. Especially since they have promised to provide an official Android O update for it (and I'd be more than fine without it too).

LOL, that's reeeally stretching.

That's like if a manufacturer released a car that looked 90% identical to, say, a BMW 3 Series and the response was just "Cards look pretty much the same nowadays anyway. Glass windscreen front, back with boot door and lights. Boom. Every car today."

Wait, rumored price is 500+......

Yeah, looking elsewhere. Was expecting maybe ~400 like the previous ones. Good bye.
They need to fire the designer that told them that OnePlus customers really wanted an appreciably more expensive handset that took great pictures and looked like an iPhone when they've built their customer-base off being a smartphone killer offering comparable horsepower at a fraction of the price of their competitors.

They also need to fire the guy that told them to pull the rest of their phones off the market so they've got no parachute in case the OP5 flops at its high ticket price.

I may just take the plunge on that today before the last of their stock dries up. Shame none of the Midnight Blacks are available.

Yeah, sure. I just really do not care if they rip each others barely different designs off of each other. It´s phones, it doesn´t matter to me.
