meh... the streaming numbers for MS were insane, im not sure how well it sells but for the people who care, its there.

unboxing xbox x soon on youtube...

I give it a C which is the same I gave their press conference last year. They didn't have any bad demos like they had last year, but the pacing to start was so bad and it never fully recovered. There was nothing in about the first half of the conference I had any interest in at all. There were a couple indies and Ori in the back half but I'll get them on PC.

Horrendous conference to sell a 499 console.

Nice it was a lot of games, but the pacing and some really drawn out demos badly hurt the pacing. Not to mention there was maybe 5 actual exclusives?

4/10

7/10

- Too much padding
- Too much "Console Launch" exclusives
- Xbox One X wayyyy to much

+ Showed games, not a lot of talking
+ Some games I'm pretty excited about
+ OG Xbox BC is cool.

Probably their best conference pacing wise but they just need more actual exclusives and less timed exclusives. Also the Xbox One X is way to much of an asking price, eapically outside of the US.

Looking forward for Bethesda's conference tonight.

MS should be embarrassed. This was by far the single worst press conference they've put on.

No interesting games, no big reveals, poor messaging, awful demos, misleading exclusivity labelling. Just awful all round.

Giving the conference a 7.5/10.

Really wanted to see a brand new exclusive IP that we never heard of before.

But the X looks gorgeous, Cuphead and Crackdown 3 finally got release dates, and a lot of those indie games look superb.

Ass Crud O's gameplay looked eh, and although Anthem looks gorgeous it looks boring to play.

Wow, Anthem looked amazing. Unfortunately gaming cynicism struck me, and I doubt it's gonna look that good when it actually comes out. Even if it doesn't, that should still be an awesome game. Definitely my biggest take away from that conference. There was some other cool looking games in there, too. Ashen, Ori and Shadow of War piqued my interest the most. Outside of Anthem, that is.

lol, that Scorpio meme's about to go six feet deep after this press conference. They ain't got nothing worth bragging about other than specs, what about the true exclusives huh?... all that bravado for this? hahahaha... oh wow.

Its funny that MS First Party lineup for their new 500 bucks box are a couple delayed games announced years ago minus Scalebound what was the most exciting.

Phil Spencer once again was just all talk.

6/10
Good format, I can see Microsoft followed in Sony's footsteps here (no fanboy shit, this is a good thing). Less cringey staged live presenters is a good thing

Average content. Pirates game looks janky, but it's real gameplay, so huge props. INCREDIBLE indie showing. Ori and that Bladerunner game looks so good. CD3 is incredibly disappointing. Don't give a shit about the EA wall game so far.

It's not nearly enough to sell me on the Xbox X (holy shit this is an annoying game to say out loud), but it's promising for the future I guess.

Hendrick's

If only my penis was as big as my GamerScore!
Really disappointing. I came in ready to be wowed and sold on Scorpio. I left, looking on to the next conference.

Whats happens if:

Sony drops PS4 Pro and PSVR to $350

PS4 to $249

Announces cross platform play

Backwards compatibility for PS1,PS2,PS3(I know...)

Releases a Pro Controller

One X will have some nifty graphics I bet, but where are the games to make me want one? Especially if I already own a PS4 or PC?

And wow, Crackdown 3 does not look good. And no large scale destruction shown this time, has that been scrapped?

Anthem looks amazing. Ori and Metro too.

Where was the first party Microsoft?

That Dwarf game you saw? That was a game Press Play pitched to be one of the three you could vote for. It seems they didn't let go the title at least, I wonder what happened to the people that pitched it.

Even though it was expected I am still surprised, very few big first party games. Some of the indie games looked very cool, particularly The Last Night, but they will pretty much all hit other platforms. I expected at least one or two unexpected announcements, given that MS is struggling with games to differentiate itself...Well Ori looked amazing. Anthem looked impressive visually, reminded me quite a lof of a mix of ME and Avatar.

Xbone X is Ms more powerful Pro obviously. That is fine, but I think on that price it is going to be an uphill struggle.

Overall, I think it was a very average conference, with Ori, TLN and Anthem as the highlights.

It was ok.
Diverse for MS, but that's not saying much.

The staples were uninspiring, I was bored with Forza and Ass Creed.

Some nice looking indies stuff.
They stretched the meaning of 'exclusive' alright.

Anthem looked pretty but I wonder how much of that is scripted smoke and mirrors, also, the gamer chat over it was cringe as fuck, reminiscent of The Division or whatever that pos is called.

499? How much in pounds? Seems expensive.

5/10.

I mean, as a conference, it was really really good. Game after game after game, from indie to AAA. The problem is with everything about microsoft and gaming right now, they simply don't have anything too show.
Metro, Last Night, Anthem, re and would be highlights in any conference, but they're multiplatform games. Microsoft has no exclusives, and that just doesn't cut it when your showing a new console. The only thing they had was Forza, that looks good but it's the 7 installment and looked on par with other car games in the market. Sea of Thieves looked middle to low tier game (even though it's made by Rare). Crackdown...I mean, it was supposed to be this big exclusive and a power showcase, instead it looks generic and downgraded from what was first shown/promised.
By the end, you could see the look of despair in Phil's face while trying to slip the 499€ under the rug.
This is definitely a Sony gen, not only that but it is the biggest difference between the 2 companies since they started going head to head. But mainly because of Microsoft and the choices they've taken.

4/9, no way Im getting Xbox One X at 499, it'll be 399 in three months. Seems they've learnt nothing in terms of price. At 499 it's DOA.

It was a good conference, but question:

Was there even one single game that I needed any version of the Xbox to play? Of any size or calibre?

Solid conference, 8/10. Some iffy pacing, and some games had really poor showings (State of Decay for example). Not a great showing for why one should buy an Xbox One X. Anthem and Sea of Thieves were my clear favorites.

From a 1st party perspective it wasn't great. But from what was actually shown I thought it was a pretty decent show. Lots of games.

I thought it was OK but, as a PS4 guy who doesn't plan to get into 4K for a while, there wasn't much there that made me want to invets in the Xbox One "family of consoles". I think all the games I liked were multiplats anyway. Except maybe Cuphead. Oh and Ori, that looked great.

The only thing that seemed to push the envelope is BC for OG Xbox. I don't thnk I've ever seen the phrase "console LAUNCH exclusive" before this conference... And it was used on nearly every trailer. Microsoft stills seems to be struggling with how to invest in its game's division.

In terms of actual (console) exclusive games it was just the new Ori and Forza 7 that stood out to me.

I have so say this conference was a bit of a slog. There must have been an hour of timed-exclusive indie games...

Xbox X will be a reasonable buy next year when it drops in price, but $499 for a resolution patch is just not good value.

Overall I will say 5/10. My view of Microsoft not being majorly invested in video games did not change by the end of this conference, and I'm disappointed by the lack of any exciting first party game announcements.

All the good games shown aren't exclusives. Only good exclusive shown was Forza 7.
Add 499 price point and this was their worst conference after 2013. I will rate this 4/10
