Zero:

Buster cancel off uppercut causes a downward Ice Stab. This allows you to combo off the uppercut easy.

Update:

When you buster cancel his diving sword normal he dashes forward with an ice shoulder tackle. You can combo off it.

fHK is some weird ass ghetto flash kick.

Level 3 Buster in addition to being slow also has shit durability now.

Strider:

Yes both Eagle & Tiger a now fHP & fHK. They are both though, suprise slow as fuck. Can't really be used to control neutral.

His 4th teleport teleports him to the wall behind him. Odd.

I was wrong about not being able to throw out raw launchers. You totally can. They are cancelable now though like TVC.

Did I mention gem activation guard cancels? It does just like x factor.

I wonder if it's Trump being an ass too with all these banning and such. Maybe International pot monsters are like screw that.

Damn near every pro has said the game isnt that good, and they need to fix the randomness.

I wouldn't say every pro. Tokido, Fuudo, Sako, Momochi, Eita etc have all expressed they they like the game and even prefer it to SF4 but that of course doesn't mean it can't be improved. I think that's what happens when every title in the game plays differently from each other - it creates this sort of divide. The main issue right now is the game not having enough defensive options which they definitely can improve on.

Also, anyone watching DreamHack? Yukadon's Ibuki is crazy good.

Everything is down by a big amount, and there are still a couple of weeks left for people to register. While I don't doubt that final numbers will be lower for SFV, compared to the launch year, I wouldn't be surprised if last-minute registrations account for a big chunk of the total numbers in all games.

Can any TOs comment on that?

It's not a surprise at all that it's dropping off. It's pretty unlikely that last minute registrations will make up the lost ground either.

As a few folks pointed out in the thread already, it's really a combination of things going on. Problems at Evo and events in general, SFV cooling down, happenings in the country this year, lots of new games coming out to the public, more circuits for individual games, missteps by the game companies themselves and a bunch of other small things.

Even putting all that stuff aside, maintaining that sort of momentum is tough and sometimes it just doesn't keep despite one's best efforts.

Pretty sure the EVO numbers last year for SFV were because the game just launched last year, and a lot of entrants were from people who figured hey why not.

Maybe. Still a huge drop.

same people winning = random. same shit said when marvel was young and xfactor can legit lead to some really wacking shit but it was always the same heads. That's a bad word, you can do better

I bitched about it at first, but Injustice 2 is a legit fighter. Easily NRS best competitive game ever, leagues ahead of MKX. Very fun to watch and play. I'm glad it's getting a fair shake from folks too.

maintaining the momentum of 5000 for sfv was basically impossible lol

I was kind of thinking the general growth over the last few years but yeah, 5000 is kinda impossible. =P

Ayeeee more zero moves let's get it!!!

Me being unemployed most of the year is what's keeping me from going to EVO, but even if I had the money I still wouldn't pay that ridiculous finals fee.

Those Evo numbers are rough. I'm sure everyone expected a pretty big drop in SFV, but I'm really shocked that everything else is THAT much lower. Probably a combination of:

-SFV hasn't exactly has a great post-launch success story so that drop isn't a surprise. Maybe people who were primarily SF players were also entering other games because they were there but aren't going this year affecting the other games a bit?

-Didn't really hear much good at all about how Evo was run last year on top of the logistics/layout. Like NWS mentioned earlier it's gone from being a fun game convention thing into being spread out with an additional venue fee for finals day that's also off the strip. Except for one person I know that's a local literally every single person I know that went last year isn't going this year primarily for this reason ("Finals day in the Mandalay Bay was cool but doesn't make up for everything else")

-Trump. This maybe sounds a bit silly but I'm sure that's having some sort of at least small impact with internationals; Evo was announced/tickets on sale right around when he took office and all of the Muslim ban stuff, and I sure as hell know if I lived outside the US I would be wary of visiting for a number of reasons.

I wonder if this will be an "off" year, or if they're going to regret how hard they've now expanded.

He seems like he could be fun. The new shit looks cool at least. Favorite one is defintely the explosion cancel from fireball. Great zoning tool.

I'm playing maverick hunters all day regardless if they're ass or not.

TEAM MMX ALL DAY ERRRDAY NIGGA.

I was hoping X would be a keepaway/Zoner type and Zero was my rushdown but if they both play like zoners, I'll make it work.

These Megaman fanboys better be day 1 to buying Marvel Infinite.

If this game fails we are all just going to blame the MM fanboys.

Anecdotally, all 3 of these points sounds about right. Smash people from this part of Mexico at least aren't going because of how it was handled last year and would rather go to other Smash-centric events. Then the Trump thing fucks everyone over here. Not even because of the racism stuff, Trump's mere existence fucked up our exchange rate and increased the price of going quite a bit during the time that most would be making preparations to go. Hell, even recently I asked people that had been going frequently and I always got an answer of "I don't know if I'll go/I haven't made any preparations"

I'd like to hear the guy winning every tournament (Punk right now obv) say the game is too random. And then explain how he gets so darn lucky in every match

And not the products presentation to the public?
That aside I preordered the super guapo luxury statue edition thing the moment it went up.

I then cancelled that the moment Dragonball Fighter Z gameplay footage and details went up and downgraded to normal edition+ season pass even though I could afford both :p

Voting with my wallet. Worth owning and supporting but with strong alternatives to it so close on the horizon I want them to get the feeling that if they want me to spend more then they should work harder to keep up with the alternatives on the market and what they have to offer. I like what they got but its lacking enough that I wont go all in on it and will definitely play the field on them.

I'm unsure if I can make it to Evo. I already reserved a hotel and put my spot in the games, but I might cancel the hotel reservation. There is a work conflict, but maybe I can talk to my boss to work it out. But even then I'm unsure, because of so many things that is happening in my life, I have to admit I feel a sense of ennui with my current path in life and do want to do something else. I thought of making Vegas a trip to just ease my mind and play games I like but maybe I need to do something else. It's something I need to think on.

I'm actually amazed that MvC3 -> MvCi, despite halving the roster, is just as appealing to me if the leaks are accurate.
The gameplay being pretty damn Marvel and active switching + stones filling the hole that assists left (and perhaps refurnishing the X-Factor hole) pretty well is what's surprising me most. I'm watching this Justin/FChamp set now and this game looks fun as fuck despite on paper seeming like it's a huge step back in terms of teamwork.

Sixfortyfive

He who pursues two rabbits gets two rabbits.

I was hyped for Hsien-ko in the run-up to MvC3.

I'm keeping expectations low.

Tbh, a really dope version of Jedah is just about the only thing I can think of that would actually get me to buy this game at launch at this point.
