WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is expected to make an announcement in the coming days on whether any recordings exist of his private conversations with former FBI Director James Comey, potentially bringing to an end one of the central mysteries of the ongoing probe that has consumed his White House.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Tuesday that he expects an announcement “this week” on the possibility of tapes. The president fired Comey in May and then tweeted that the lawman, who was overseeing the investigation into possible contacts between Trump’s campaign and Russian officials, “better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press.”

This feels like a teaser trailer to a trailer that is going to be for a shitty movie.

I do not believe these tapes exist, and even if they did they wouldn't be favourable to Trump and they won't be released.

If they existed and were positive, they would already be out. They jumped at the inauguration crowd bullshit within 24 hours.

I wouldn't be surprised for them to come out and say they don't exist.

Then 3 days later Trump tweets about how he had them erased, and legal teams scramble to figure out how they can twist that to mean hypothetically.

They don't exist, or they did and he found a way to dispose of the tapes without leaving traces.

Either way, don't get your hopes up.

I cant stop getting the mental image of them releasing "the tapes" only for them to be Trump playing both himself and Comey having a conversation but not actually changing his voice much when he impersonates Comey.
