About that BestBuy Switch...

I actually wanted the Switch, so $50 off the next time one pops up is great lol.

Why don't I abuse glitches?? This is why I'm not rich. That, and all of the video games I buy.

I've got a practically brand new one and an 8GB card that's just collecting dust, if you're interested.

Edit: It's white and the OG model, to be clear. Not the newer one. Assassin's Creed ver.

I just bought an Aqua Blue PS Vita with a 16gb memory card from Japan for $340.00.

Thanks anyways though.

Where do I pick up a vita these days? I can't find a new one anywhere.

MTC Factory Outlets sells refurbs, they're pretty good

EDIT: oops too late lol

Ouch! I plan to pick up a spare coloured Vita myself. Not looking forward to paying $300+.

I bought a white OG Vita from MTC for $130 as my second Vita (so I no longer have to swap my two 64GB memory cards on a single system).

PSN store website down for anyone else?

edit: It's not down. Just my Chrome won't let me open a new tab or something in it. Firefox worked.

Mass Effect was on sale on Origin recently. But yeah it seems that physical retail copies rarely go on sale at the same time and discount as the console versions.

I'm hoping we're still getting that anyway.

You guys are getting at least that if not more like free MK. You have a game and no console to play it on, mostly forcing you to return it or keep a "useless" game and you never bought into that. I know we all did it for the glitch, but they have to look at it with a customer satisfaction perspective.

Nothing yet for me. Yours hadn't shipped either though if I remember right?
Yeah, it hadn't shipped when I got the email.

As far as I know, MK was never free for anyone. They were still being charged the $90 for MK. Some were even charged a shipping fee for the amiibo.

They probably dealt with the non-shipped first since they didn't more copies to go out. I guess we'll get an email about what to do tomorrow or the day after regarding those that received a copy.

What's with Amazon selling John Wick 2 4K for $40 and Best Buy not having any stock of it??
I don't know about best buy's stock problems, but is that not the standard price for 4k blurays? Whenever I've gone looking for something it's $35-40 if it's new. $30 if it's old. $15-25 if it's old and on sale.

Edit: Ah, I see. The non-sale price for it at best buy is $33. Yeah, no idea why then.

Hmmm, I thought $29.99 was the MSRP for new 4K releases.
Oh well, $10 more is well worth it for John Wick.

Does the giveaway include a switch? Lul

If you read the terms it says there's 3 prize packs, all include a Switch and the 3 big nintendo summer games (MK/Splat2n/ARMS).

With a generous offering of 3 prize packs though your chances of winning are (realistically) probably marginally better than winning the lottery lol.

It also says Mario and Luigi are pending to scheduling, haha. "Sorry, Mario couldn't be here today..."

Guys, I have a theory that came to mind today, and I need to get it out somewhere. By now, we've all seen that upcoming Switch games like Mario Odyssey are sitting at $99.99 CAD (Placeholder Price) right? This is across the board, EB, Walmart, even Amazon. So my theory, or worry more appropriately, is: what if they're saying it's a placeholder price when in fact the plan is to raise those prices and hope we don't notice?
EB seems to be the only site specifically saying it's a placeholder price, and all the others are continuing on as though that's the price. Part of my fear is the question, why would they ever need $99.99 as a placeholder price when every single new release game has been $79.99? Why not make $79.99 the placeholder? I fear there's something we don't know happening behind the scenes. I'm a HUGE Nintendo fan, but even I'd find $100 games in this modern era more than a little excessive, and dare I say, not worth it. I feel that by this time, if Nintendo knew for sure that these games were going to be $79.99 they'd tell the retailers and they'd get more preorders. But the fact that they're all still saying $100 has me concerned.

Sorry for the ramble and sorry if this has been brought up already.

Placeholder has a very simple explanation: they want to cover their ass if the dollar drops further by year end. I don't think there's any more to it than that. They have been burned in the past when the dollar drop outpaced their set prices.

Notice that it's only applying to farther away titles before they've set a price -- ARMS and Splatoon 2 were not adjusted to $99.

I didn't think of that, that makes sense. I guess I'll have to wait and see (and pray for a strong dollar)

Joke's on them! Watch as our dollar suffers more than they predicted, and the price goes beyond the estimated $99.99.

I hope you all got your pre-orders in at that lower price!
