Obamacare is about to get it's death blow by next week, 1/6 of our economy about to be restructured to take from the poor and give to the rich. This will affect all Americans. Premiums will go up, insurance will be dropped, and there isn't even going to be a serious debate about this.

https://twitter.com/AJentleson/status/877993172848300038

Adam Jentleson - Fmr Deputy Chief of Staff, Senator Harry Reid.
"Anyone who thinks there'll be another chance to stop Trumpcare should disabuse themselves of that notion immediately.

There won't be.

If the Senate passes a Trumpcare bill, the House will quickly pass it with no changes and Trump will sign it into law.

Game over.

There won't be a conference committee.

There's no need for a conference if one chamber passes the other chamber's bill with no changes.

The powerful incentive of having the bill signed into law will overwhelm any reservations among House Republicans about the Senate bill.

In short, if the Senate passes Trumpcare, it will be on Trump's desk and signed into law within days.

Not weeks or months.

Days."

All we can do is RAISE AWARENESS of the issue. Forget Comey, Russia, Pelosi, fckn Transformers. Get people upset! There are supposedly republican senators that have doubts and all we can do is flood their phones and offices with our voice.

Call your senators. Don't email. Call.

Information on the Senate bill "Better care" - an Orwellian name for a health bill that is literally designed to lower the quality of insurance provided.

Remember when ACA was being rammed down our throats trying to pass a bill in the through Congress in the dark?

Here's ACA vs Trumpcare timeline:

MzJEOep.png

Here's the republican counterargument: Obamacare is failing. Is it? Well that's certainly debatable, but THAT'S NOT THE POINT! "Failing Obamacare" won't be fixed by tax cuts for the rich and medicaid cuts! That makes no sense!

Trumpcare is just a TAX CUT that is to allow for more TAX CUTS planned later this year!

Here's hoping this reduces my employer offered plan prices - or at least slows the rate in which they have been increasing.
If that happens I'll vote for the guy. If that doesn't happen then I'll feel robbed.

Single payer is the endgame but anything that reduces my burden in the meantime is a-ok.

You must have a bottomless well of compassion from which to draw.

I don't understand how there haven't been massive protests like there were for other issues. This is a life and death issue that directly affects far more people and will hit people's wallets so hard they wont be able to afford to worry about anything else.

This will be a tremendous step backward. Fuck everyone involved. This is so damn unethical. Literally taking from the lower and middle class to fatten up the rich.

Weren't people saying how this would never get passed?

Not saying people shouldn't make noise, but you guys were way too over confident with this stuff.

Everything they say is true of Obamacare's process is actually true of theirs........and I'm not the least bit surprised.....that so many people are okay with this because they buy into Republican lies and fearmongering is so upsetting.

Insurance companies are already planning to raise rates due to all this uncertainty. Way to make it all about you though. Hope you never lose your job.

You guys? Stop trying to blame nameless people and focus on those who actually have the power to stop it.

Im sorry to say this but this shit is over. Americans will suffer. If the ACA survives Trump's presidency, it will be a god damn miracle and I will be trully be shocked.

No if they do repeal and replace, I just fucking hope all the blame goes to republicans. No projecting, no making excuses to divert blame to democrats. What shitfest that will happen must go to one party only.

I guess Dems have some fault for not going out to fucking vote and "fall in line" but this is what the right wants for its citizens so let the whole blame fall on them.

It will reduce your premiums, but at a cost. If you get sick you'll be paying out your ass. It's basically a Bronze plan for everyone. Oh and if you're in a deep red state, no free cancer screening for you.

The most desperate are finally given the means to survive and you cruelly take it from them and expect them to die in obedient silence? Something has to give.

At least you don't hide how much you hate America, your fellow Americans, the poor, the sheer amount of people who will die because of this, etc.

Own that Trump vote, diablos.

I'll most likely lose my health care. It could kill me, along with countless others. How do you even look at yourself in the mirror?

There have been protests, the GOP doesn't care though, you saw how McConnell basically forced the cops to drag out those poor weak people when they tried to protests. Republicans are inhuman monsters.

Senate plan is created such that it's effects wont be felt till 2020. Until then, Trump can ride Obamacare's benefits as "Trumpcare". Plug will finally be pulled by 2020, by when people wont have seen much of Trumpcare's effects.

Worse than the status quo ante because of the hatchet it takes to Medicaid.

Basically going to happen at this point, so buckle up and get people good and angry for 2018, and get anything weird treated *now*.

Wait. Do I get free cancer screenings now? I had to pay over $600 for the last time I had a CT scan of a lump.

Man, I am so thankful Canada doesn't have to deal with these kinds of health/finance issues.

Indirectly it does. Healthcare is getting more expensive as the population ages, there are more elderly, and healthcare gets more advanced and expensive. The system is unlikely to be able to support the cost of public healthcare without large tax increases or serious talks about two-tier.

Republicans have always wanted to get rid of Medicaid.

And yet they continue to win elections. People love their rhetoric.

At least you're consistent in it always being about what you can get regardless of how it fucks over millions of other people.

You guys are arguing against a wall. No amount of beating compassion into Trump voters will change their views. You should instead focus on how it harms him individually.

Seriously people, call your reps. get mad NOW.
You should have been protesting in the streets and boycotting your jobs weeks ago. You should be in the riot stage at this point. The fact that hasn't happened means you're perfectly content to let this play out without getting angry. Republicans have doctored this bill to weather the storm until after Trump's re-election and they have no risk of losing the Senate in 2018. You've all been getting played and sitting idly by waiting for it to happen thanks to the Russian investigation distraction numbing your emotional distress.

Phone calls? Please. None of these reps are answering their phones or checking their voicemail.

You guys? Stop trying to blame nameless people and focus on those who actually have the power to stop it.

Sorry if I didn't write down names. I'm just saying people are way too over confident. I'm not saying you shouldn't fight. There should be noise. I was criticizing it for not being loud enough in the last few months. I know people are fighting.

I've already given up.

America is full of evil people, and it was designed to keep them deluded.

Still going to call my Senator, but we might be getting single payer in Cal soon down the line anyway. Let's save as many as we can.

You don't deserve a goddamn thing more than what you gleefully condemn other people to have.

Pretty goddamn much.

You guys are arguing against a wall. No amount of beating compassion into Drumpf voters will change their views. You should instead focus on how it harms him individually.

I mean, part of me wonders if he would care even then. He'll still try to spin it into a positive rather than admit that the Republicans are a mistake.

If I already live in a sane state that's currently and will be indefinitely represented by Democratic congresspeople, is there any value in my calling them?
