Just checked there and nearly got a heart attack when I saw their 9999kr price: https://www.webhallen.com/se-sv/spe...et-snes_classic_mini_edition&atcl=search:live

I don't read Swedish so maybe I'm missing something about a placeholder price or something? Otherwise I'd be happy to import one from Sweden if that guarantees me one.

Yeah, it's a placeholder. No official Swedish price yet. Webhallen's policy is that the price you preorder at is the highest you'll pay (so if the final price is higher you'll still pay what you preordered at), but if the final price is lower you'll pay that. So they set the placeholder price at something ridiculous so that the final price is guaranteed to be lower.

Preorder been up for almost 12 hrs here in Australia and they're still in stock. I'm surprised. This didn't happen with the NES from what I recall.

Guys, only a couple of UK retailers sold out their online pre-orders. There are others like the Nintendo UK Store that haven't started taking them yet. Not sure why everyone is saying the UK pre-orders are completely sold out lol.

Do we know which version of FF6 this is?

We never got it in EU and I never played the GBA port because I heard they took stuff out or something (someone gets slapped was one of them I think?).

Alright time to call it a night. Will wake up at 8:30 but I told my friends that have to be up at 6 to hammer my phone and get me awake if it goes live before that.

Thanks for buying tips everyone. I think the great thing about this all is it shows that there is still an appreciation for the classic experiences. Sure there is the nostalgia of having an a modernised old favourite in front of the TV, but also many of these games are still playable and enjoyable today.

I've always wondered if there could be more cases like this on NES or SNES where they almost finished a game but then pulled the plug. Could there in other words be more "Star Fox 2's" that we don't know about?

There are plenty. There's Return of Donkey Kong (NES) that was supposed to be Donkey Kong 4 and you were going to play as Kong according to Nintendo Power.

There's Metroid 2 DX for the GBC, there's a Castlevania 2 for the GBC too, but no one knows if it meant the NES or GB version since no screenshots were ever shown. There's also the Megaman Gameboy Collection.

Yeah, the SNES is the oldest generation that is still very playable IMO. Excellent games with sprite-based 2D graphics that still look great. The NES, with some exceptions, is pretty eeeeh to go back to now. I'm much more excited for this than I was for the NES Classic (which I never made much of an effort to get).

First image I've seen of the controller door open, don't really like how it looks:

Ruins the clean look a bit. I would have preferred if they had gone the NES Classic route with exposed ports.

I wish it had Lufia 2 on it. SE owns the license... but I guess thet didn't want to load it with RPGs which is fair.

Yeah Lufia II is superb and still very playable, one of the most underrated soundtracks on the system. Great dungeon design as well with Zelda-esque puzzles.

Lufia 2 was kinda glitchy too

I believe the PAL version fixed at least some of the notable glitches, one off the top of my head being a dungeon floor with a garbled tile set.

Thankfully it looks like bugfixes were applied to the NTSC verison via a fan patch

They didn't publish the NA version, though.

It's better this way than if they had the ports visible at all times. It was okay on the NES Classic since its original ports looked kinda similar, but with the SNES it would look off.

Yeah with the flap it'll look much better on display now.

I have a feeling it will go live in the US sometime early afternoon while I am asleep, as I am on a graveyard shift at the hospital and come back tonight for another. Cant stay up trying for it without a specific time. If anyone in the US gets a second one I would pay a finders fee plus shipping. I only want one, to keep. PM me if you nab a second and arent a scalper.

I got my thing pre ordered from Amazon uk

Worried they might cancel it.

I def want the super famicom

People say pre order culture is horrible in the video game industry and this is a good example of it.

GameStop says pre order so you're guaranteed copy. I usually laugh and go to like toys r us and they usually have what I want. This limited edition thing is almost warranted/necessary for a pre order

So when and how will you know if your pre-order is fine? I have it ordered at amazon UK and Webhallen.

Being swedish, I'm hoping for Webhallen.

I managed to preorder one from Game last night and I'm crossing my fingers that they won't do anything stupid like cancel it.
When I woke up this morning, they had sold out on their website.

Agreed, doesn't look that hot, but still, it's really cute. AND with the controller slot closed it's a faithful replica of a SNES on a smaller scale.

Also.. that is the actual cable length, isn't it, Nintendo?

Seeing all these Japanese SFC boxes and being able to open them into separate tabs drives me mad. The size of the logos, the top/bottom bars are different for each game :|

It should be version 1.1 of the US SNES version. So same as what is on Wii VC so I believe what you are referring to is a scene where Celes is chained up and beaten (which should still be present as it was removed form the GBA version and beyond due to an age rating related issue in Japan), blind status and physical evade should still do nothing but other localisation censorship of the pubs are Cafes, Holy is called Pearl (Woolsey was asked about this and he was playing it safe with the Nintendo guidelines...I guess the animation makes more sense than calling it white as had been done previously) and some battle sprites edited remain as they were in the US SNES release.

Ordered a 2 pack of controller extension cables to go with my PAL Super NES mini.

Should have got them already for my NES mini really, but ended up playing my Analogue NT instead, so never bothered. Getting them today, so will need to whip out the NES mini now.

Potentially daft question but I haven't seen it confirmed - is the SNES mini definitely using these same connectors?

If so I'm going to pick these up in advance - I typically sit about 10 feet from my TV so will definitely need an extender!

EDIT - Just seem the pic above which appears to answer my question! Ordered.

TheOnlyOneHeEverFeared - my order is confirmed, big thanks!

Thanks! Managed to get one

Ends up at £90 after delivery charges :/

Feel bad taking one that should be going to someone in Ireland, but kind of forced into it by so many UK ones being taken by everyone else!

Don't fear bad, a consumer is a consumer. Also, GameStopUK has been almalgamated into GameStop IE who purposefully serve both Ireland and the U.K.!

Might be a dumb question, but will the italian SNES Classic have an english option?

Edit: Oh, rip I just got to entering my address. Gamestop.it doesn't ship worldwide does it?

With NES Classic I didn't mind the short cables since I had the console right next to me for reset button save states. No good reason this time though as SNES games don't require anywhere near as much save stating, even for us less skilled players.
