Ok, long story short. I've had a ps4 since launch but the Xbox one was my primary console because I thought with all my friends on live ( they all eventually stopped playing as we all became fathers and such) and the library of over 1,000 movie titles it would always be my main.

I had the ps4 for the exclusives it would get and I've played through all the Uncharted games but for some reason, o wait I know, I was addicted too Destiny from day 1 and let so many games slide on by as not to take away from my 12 hour days in crucible. F ing pathetic I know.

Fast forward to now, and I just got a 4k, hdr, Dolby vision set and I thought well, time for the ps4 pro. I thought it would be a little stupid to get a xone s when I'll be getting a x1x in nov.

So I grab the pro, Uncharted, ratchet, and infamous.

I have no prior idea what this Uncharted is about, didn't read a single review and holy shit the opening was the most intense so far this gen. Not only that but it was absolutely beautiful in hdr. Then the scene with Nates new mundane job and the transition from the water to working class america, f ing extremely well executed. I just sat there with a smile in my face like , g damn naughty dog really is a step above the majority of the industry.

I feel like a kid again playing this game, I actually want to get all my daddy duties done today fast so I have more time tonight to play, o by the way how long of a game is it?

I'm just so glad I decided to buy it as in all honesty it took over my game of then with the first 5 chapters.

About 12 hours IIRC.

Completely agree with the praise, it's a phenomenal game. It took a while but it gradually became my favourite of the series. I know people have problems with the pacing but it was perfect for me, it earned it's slower moments.

What you wrote sounds like you didn't see that e3 setpiece two years ago. If this is correct, then oh boy, you're in for a treat!

Yeah, it's got some pretty spectacular set pieces, that's for sure. There is a certain chase sequence that really is pure wizardry on ND's part.

As a big fan of the series, I decided to go blackout on it after the PSX reveal in Dec 14.

I didn't know a single thing about it when I was playing thru it, was amazing.

Loved it and it was the first Uncharted game I finished rather than quitting 3/4 way through. But I play it so damn slowly. I'm always walking slow and take in the sights. The eye candy in this game blows me away.

Same, I'm a photographer in rl as my profession, so like I said I try to force first person perspectives with the geometry to take screen shots lmao. My wife is like wtf are you doing?

I couldn't help but think last night, in bizzaro world, what if naughty dog was given the next Zelda to develop. Hear me out though Nintendo dudes, I grew up in the 80s and Zelda is what hooked me into gaming. Zelda the original was the first game I really felt part of the world, an adventure and I still think Nintendo makes great games. Botw though, something felt off for me, I wasn't connected.

Then playing this last night, I'm saying to myself, fuck, this is how you make a game, hook the player, the sense of adventure, presence in the world, and of course the amazing technical wizardry going on.

I bought the Uncharted 4 bundle a while ago and have yet to dive in. Hearing your impressions makes me think putting it off is a big mistake lol

Incredible game, I do agree the pacing was a bit off and a bit too much slow sections not quite enough combat, but still a great experience.

Horizon is better though imo.

Yeah, this is how you make a game, focus on everything but the actual playing part. Loved those frequent stretches of mechanically barren traversal. No problem solving or challenge on the players end, just a pretty view to look at as you press x.

Its so nice naughty dog included an aim assist mode where you barely have to aim at anyone and can go through the game with no skill. Beat it in 8 hours I think.

It's honestly nuts how good it looks sometimes. There are scenes out in the wilderness that are just...whew. Incredible level of detail.

Everything.
Can't accept other opinions?

It seems like I misread "have". I thought he wrote "haven't".

We're human, we make mistakes, calm down.

It's the best actually. This is fact :p
He doesn't use have or haven't in his statement about playing the games. Just admit you didn't read and want to shit post.

It's just an opinion bro amirite

Dude visually you haven't seen a thing, the opening is pretty tame even, you are not gonna believe how stunning it looks the more you progress.

I wanna reply it again just to go through all of those views and environments again.

Op, took me about 17hs the first time on hard, it should be around 15hs average. It's a blast, best of the series for me but it's among the best at least, especially if you loved the first moments!
