On a positive note, I'm pulling shore patrol in Halifax this week and it is amazing. People are super nice, a lot of cool eateries with water views. Though a Canadian dude did try to hit on me by explaining to me how the Canadian $20 bill proves that Queen Elizabeth was responsible for 9/11 and the Canadians are Americans' only true friends, lol.

I actually came across something weird today:

It was a hot summer day. I was riding my bike down a street and had stopped for a second to adjust my bag. When I looked up I saw some middle-age white man sitting on his porch with his grotesque belly hanging out. I waved to him in courteous gesture and he waved back. At this point I was deciding to hop back on my bike and keep going, but I decided, "Hey it wouldn't hurt to ask him, would it?".

I called out to him.

"Hey, are you interested in art by any chance?"

"A little. Why?" he responded.

"I'm an artist and trying to sell some of my art so I can get a car and won't have to ride this bike anymore."

I got off my bike and walked towards him taking out a few pieces of my art from my bag. I noticed the edges of his eyes were abnormally red. He looked at my art and made such compliments as "This is really good" and "You have talent." He also asked how much they were and I said "Twenty a piece."

"Do you stay around here?"

"Yeah, I'm down the highway," I lied.

"Cool. I used to draw a bit myself and would hit you up later you got a card or something?"

I pulled out my business card and handed it to him. He took it.

"So you're trying to save up for a car?"

"Yeah, trying to make money anyway I can."

"Cool. I just wanted to let you know my wife loves fucking black men. You can make some money that way."

"Ugh, no I'm fine. And I'm actually a woman."

"Oh my bad, I was just throwing that out there."

"Have a good day," I turned around got on my back and got the hell out of there.

I'd launch into a rant about my previous doctor sucking (who was my GP as well as a gyno) but I don't have the energy for that rant today:p

I've heard several women tell me they preferred having a male gyn because they were more gentle with the equipment, whereas their female gyns were just merciless

My mother's second marriage was with a doctor. His gyn friends were either super gay or super "fuck yeah pussy". I don't think I will trust a male gyn ever again

I would have at least appreciated some notice about that thread. I know everybody means well but it's not going to go well unless it's well moderated from the start. There's a reason why this sort of thing has been discouraged before and it has nothing to do with anybody on staff hating women, as much as the legend seems to be.

Oh :( I've never heard of that legend lol, if anything I heard that staff can be lenient on women because they don't want to scare them away.

Of course I doubt either is true :p

Anyone who stops to think about it knows there's inevitably going to be some level of shitposting. I'm morbidly curious to keep an eye on it, but, wow.

Lack of heads-up aside, I'm puzzled by the idea of having a panel when there are myriad other women here who I'm sure would like to participate. Why is it limited to just a handful of arbitrarily chosen posters?

Exactly my thoughts, especially presenting it as a GirlGAF thread when literally it's the first time I'm hearing it. Just feels like my actual opinion is going to be generalized by the answers of panelists who don't actually represent me.

I stopped posting in the dating threads after being part of PXG's OT2 until Septimius' OT5. And you are right, there are few responses from women, but there are a few here who have posted in older dating threads and some even got marriage proposals and stuff out of nowhere.

I found them to be something akin to encircling the woman and just firing posts at her to overwhelm her.

Hopefully there will be less of... Nice Guy™ type of posts in the thread you made.
