NBA Offseason 2017 |OT| Only Big Ballers™ Allowed *please pay $495 to be a Big Baller

Off the top of my head:

Nets
Bulls
Suns

Borderline:
76ers
Pacers
Hawks
Hornets
Hornets? They got Monk and Howard, traded some of their worst contracts, and along with the heat were a team with a positive point differential that was way below what they should have won. They got derailed by losing Cody Zeller to injury and then their terrible luck (look at their record in close games and OT games). Hornets make the playoff by default in the east now

Well, word is they didn't negotiate fairly and wanted to give him less.

Dude could have probably made more had he been released to start. Changes my opinion of the deal tbh, yeah he's a weird signing, but on that deal he is still a great asset

I feel like the kings are gonna be worse. They got some decent vets but I can't see them winning more then when they had Boogie.

They almost went high on my list, but tgey are a big variable right now imo.

The Hornets shouldn’t be worse than the Lakers.

Not sure on the Charlotte. I probably am off on them, but even if they aren't there..

Free agent forward Tarik Black has reached agreement to sign with the Houston Rockets, league sources tell The Vertical.

Like this signing for our depth at the 4/5

To review:

Rob Pelinka was Ariza, Harden, and iirc Gordon's agent

Rockets got Lou Williams for the 28th pick and Corey Brewer

Tarik Black went from Houston to LA to Houston

Harden is from LA

We got cp3 from LA (different franchise tbf) and sent back Dekker, Harrell, Beverley, and Lou Williams

Also add the Lin trade

And going way back, the cancelled CP3 trade that would have sent Pau to Houston

Every team looks like they're going to make it and crack through to the playoffs until they dont.

Besides the Magic maybe.

This is definitely the year the Magic make the playoffs because expectations couldn't be lower. East sucks so bad and they've managed to upgrade their roster in some interesting ways. Vogel would never go for it but I'd love to see a Payton / Ross / Simmons / Gordon / Isaac lineup.

Anyway I'm just excited to just never have to see Jeff Green again. Those 70 games he played last year were basically unwatchable.

Feels like Cavs, Celtics, Raptors, Wizards, Bucks are locks in the East. Hornets are probably also locks.

Then the next tier is the Heat (they could end up way higher than this, but also have the possibility of dropping out of the playoffs afterwards) and Pistons, and those 8 teams will probably be heavy favorites.

Magic then have to compete with the Sixers (even if Embiid isn't totally healthy), Pacers, and Knicks with Melo just for the next tier. Hell, Knicks without melo might compete in that same tier

Green going to go from bum to 6th man of year.

He was terrible for the Magic.

Magic easily are worse as well. 76ers and pacers shouldn't be. Hornets aren't even close.

- Jeff Green
- CJ Watson
- Jodie Meeks

+ Jonathan Isaac
+ Jonathon Simmons
+ Shelvin Mack

Dunno how the Magic are worse on paper. Probably marginally better but have a feeling the record will be better than people think when guys like Augustin and Hezonja aren't getting any more PT (if they're even on the roster at all)

Bulls signed both David Nwaba and Antonio Blakeney today. Finally some good moves. That Jordan Bell trade still hurts because they could've had all three.

Edit: Now PLEASE get rid of Cameron Payne.

SA-GAF, was it expected that Simmons would be gone this summer? Maybe I wasn't keeping up, but I was surprised. Feels like it's been a weird off-season for the Spurs.

I like Isaac a lot, but he's young and raw still. Mack and Simmons barely move the needle. They're bottom tier for sure.

And you have to include the fact that Ibaka is gone, he had a pretty good year for them. The Magic are definitely not making the playoffs, they're a team of underachievers.

Magic starters were basically league average once he was gone and Ross was in. Their bench was historically awful though, Hezonja was straight up the worst player in the league last year by RPM, Augustin was the 8th worst. Ibaka wasn't actually any good last year.

I don't know if they'll make the playoffs but I do see them winning 35~ games this year. I guess I'm just hoping so because I'd like to watch some games this year shrug.

I think the Hawks could sneak into the playoffs. They picked up people who know how to play within their roles and a good coach that usually gets his players to overachieve. Only thing is that the Hawks will be one of the worst 3pt teams around.

I totally forgot the Magic were a team. Yay, someone that's going to be as terrible as the Hawks!

The Hawks might have the second worst roster in the NBA this year (the Bulls are also in that conversation ). The East is weak enough for a middling team like the Pistons to sneak into the playoffs. It's not weak enough for a team like the Hawks.

I thought they waived/dismissed him Payne yesterday or 2 ago? He had issues (family I believe) and wasn't playing the remainder of SL after that one poor showing.

Dunn went home due to family issue, not Payne.

They're not cutting Payne when they just traded far too much for him at the deadline.

If Howard stayed, and THJ wasn't offered a crazy contract, I could see it. But Schroder and a crazy year from Prince can't carry you to the playoffs now.

Beautiful. Lonzo Ball is single handedly also killing it in ratings for ESPN. He's already must see tv.

You probably won't get your wish of winning 35 games, but Isaac looked good during summer league so at worst you should have a really fun small ball team that loses most of their games via Shootouts.

The Biggest issue Orlando have is that their PG can't shoot and thats not viable in the modern NBA. Thats probably not going to change this season.

You now belong to FMT.
Look out for my boy Justin Robinson .... he is on the Heat summer league team and tearing it up. Hope they give him a contract.

Lonzo made 2nd team all-NBA on his rookie year in 2K, posting up 17/11ast/8r lol

Sounds about right. 😎

With real NBA talent like he will have this year (Ingram, KCP, Lopez, Randle, etc), he will deliver big time in the assists category. We can debate all we want in the points and rebounds part.

He's already averaging 10 ast with the majority of talent being d-leaguers around him. Can't wait to see him deliver those outlet passes to Nance and Ingram.

only problem is he'll also be facing real NBA defenses too

He's not exactly surrounded by a bunch of studs

Brook Lopez is going to feast this year and the Lakers added a lot of guys who are good in transition. Next season should be fun to watch.

Going against NBA defenses don't faze the Big Baller Brand playa.

Lonzo turns players who go from averaging 10 points, into 18 points. 20 into 25, etc. He has what he needs to transform the team like he does everywhere he goes too playa. It's spoken into existence.

Lonzo having an all star Center that can shoot 3s with him is a huge plus. Those pick and pops are going to be deadly.

Uuuhhh

He's also gonna be facing real NBA defenses...

I have difficulty distinguishing whether Lakers and Celtics fans especially buy into their hype or are fucking around
