This community can be so toxic at times. My own teammate just cooked his grenade and killed us both with it on purpose for no reason.
That's nothing. When a 12-13 year old sounding kid with "we are MS-13" as his username starts beating and abusing his cat on the mic, telling it, "You're a ni**er, you're a ni**er, you're a ni**er" then you start wondering. I don't know what the PC people are like, but there are some on PS4 I've bumped into that I could see being psychopaths/sociopaths in person.

Maybe this is with other competitive multiplayer shooters, as well? I haven't played enough of them to know, but this community has been the worst/weirdest for me. Love the game, though.

Text chat is pretty bad on PC and is where most nonsense usually occurs. I have mine turned off and it leads to a much better enjoyment of the game, for me. It's just always someone saying after you kill them "Oh bs!" Or "Hax! I'm reporting you!"

Eh, I think it's a trend throughout all online games to be honest. Even going back to playing CoD4 and R6:Vegas on the PS3, there's always been straight up disgusting behaviour from some players.

By far the worst experience I've ever had in a game though is Paragon. Which is a shame because I really like the game, but the community is the absolute worst I've ever experienced.

The PC crowd in almost every game tends to skew older, so it'll be a 30 something yelling at you on the mic. I haven't had many bad experiences with the game besides a few tryhards getting super upset strats aren't 100% on point during casual. Had one guy call me a "fake platinum" and to kill myself because I didn't carry my casual team. People are usually just dumb, not outright hateful. Matches are relatively short so you can always duck out if you want, it's not like visiting a permanent server or community, so that helps cut down on the BS.

Siege has absolutely nothing on MOBAs or CS:GO in terms of toxicity.

People do seem a little shy about using the new "play again as a team" feature. If we're in a groove, why not stay?

I played casual for the first time in a month or two yesterday because I was wanting some practice with an operator I rarely use and it was shocking. Everyone reinforcing inside walls before outside walls secured (which led to an Ash rush). And their aim and game awareness was completely off. It's just a completely different experience.

What's your u-play ID?

It's really a complete shit-show. Or as nooblet calls it, high-level diamond play!

As for toxicity... I'd say it's not as bad as Rocket League. Of course on console I will sit in an empty party if I'm solo queuing just to avoid voice chat. On PC just because muting is slightly more inconvenient I try to communicate, or at least listen. Most people seem to at least be trying but there's the poorly configured mics where people cut in and out and it's frustrating to understand them... then there's the useless callouts such as, "he's in that room to the right!!" Ok... what room? Are you talking to me or one of the other 3 players on your team? Who's in the room?

And then there's always backseat gamer guy who wants to give you voice commands after he dies. Like the guy the other day when I had a 1v2 with 50 seconds left, "YOU'RE OUT OF TIME! YOU GOTTA MOVE!!! PRE-FIRE!!! WALL-BANG!!! WHY DON'T YOU WALLBANG!!!" Hey, bro, either give me information, not commands, or shut the fuck up. Don't worry if I want your opinion on something I'll be sure to ask.

But on Rocket League you got teammates who will put down their controller 20 seconds into the game and leave after one accidental bump that may or may not even be your fault... and the text chat is probably worse than what you get in Siege even though they actually ban people over it.

Honestly I don't see how people play casual. It's great if you want a fake morale boost over how good you are though.

I'm not sure of Packer was being serious about a random person teammate killing him or just being sarcastic and talking about one of the people we usually run with :p

I have been playing a lot of casual lately just because I never group up anymore and just want to chill. I still dont really like the shorter round length of Ranked.

Overall I would say most of my games I find decent teammates or teams to play against.

I didn't like the shorter round length at first but after being used to it, 4 minutes feels like an eternity.

Nah you thinking that casual mode plays no differently from ranked will still be hilarious for at least another week.

That shit cost me a match before. Someone droned Consulate garage stairs, I was playing the white van, his drone suspended in the air, took a shot at it, nothing, took another two quick bursts before deciding that it was glitched and as I went to strafe behind the van to reload in pops Thermite getting me through the van window as I'm going across. Otherwise I had the garage Bandited off. But no, he gets me, shoots the shock wires and hops outside for uncontested breaches, and the rest of our defense crumples. I was absolutely tilted.

Ok, so I'm officially addicted to this game, it's so fucking good I don't even care if I suck at it. I'm already level 45 and just unlocked all original operators. At the beginning it was a but frustrating, but now that I know the maps much better I feel far more comfortable, and I've gone from a 0.6 K/D ratio to 0.9 in a short time

I've been mainly sticking to easy-to-use characters with high armor such as Rook and Fuze, but lately I've been trying some of the operators with high speed (IQ, Bandit) and I love that increased movement speed. I think these kind of characters are meant to roam around the map and flank the enemy, right? Should I wait until I have better map knowledge to use them?

Uk PS4 here, too. I regularly play with beginners/noobs like Primethius & Nooblet so you're welcome to join, as well!

You can contact me and arrange a carrying session via my assistant, CrayToes.

Thanks! I'll probably send you a FR later on

You can roam with anybody but 3 speeds tend to excel at it, yes. Don't feel like you have to roam just because you've got a faster character though. Hell sometimes it's more beneficial to just bunker down on site.

They're putting the window back and putting cover in front of the spawn. Isn't that what most people here wanted?
That's what I think is best, certainly. Removing that window made it too easy for attackers to rappel unchallenged, in my (and in many other people on the internet's) opinion.

I have never played a game with so many dudebros/ganstas on mic in my life (PS4)

On another note oh my god I want a new map it's been so long...

I'm definitely starting to feel this. I'm not bored of the game or anything, the "meta" just feels a little stale. Looking forward to a fresh map and operators, at least the wait for the next set won't be as long.

Yeah they aren't going through with the scrapped map are they? Such a shame, I love ops but maps are equally as important to me when it comes to longevity.

I hope they release more 3 armour operators. The 3 speed meta is kind of boring right now. A couple 3 armour operators would change things up a little I think

I always thought it was weird that Capitao is a three speed. Dude is stacked and carries an LMG lol. Echo meanwhile is a three armour.

Thing is, the speed difference is easy to feel, the armour difference isn't, especially when a headshot with any weapon kills. Did anyone ever put out a video showing the difference it makes in terms of shots to down/kill?

Started playing again. Takes me a couple games to get re-used to a gun that doesn't stick to targets like most console shooters. I think the game has improved my shooting across FPSs though.

Got a Capitao kill shooting the crossbow through a drone vent. I really like the crossbow, it's fun.

It can flat out counter some very common defensive strategies like hiding at the back of the room in master bedroom on House, the roulette table in the casino on Yacht and the sheltered part of the tea room on Skyscraper.

Also great to use it the way you'd use Smoke as a defender, blocking off access routes to a room while securing or once the bomb is planted.

fuck this game has a pretty brutal learning curve on PC, but at least most people I've played with have been not-jackasses

Can someone explain why high level players will randomly self impose chcallenges in a match and team kill others who arent with them?

Or did I answer my own question?

I really would like to see them overhaul the armor/speed rating.

Speed trumps armour all the time, and Im sick of Ash players.

There needs to be a reason to pick 3 armour operators over 1 armour ops

So many people neglect to use any barbed wire, which counters an Ash rush pretty easily. Watch pro league and you'll see them take 3 or more operators with barbed wire.

On the 3 armor front, saw a Mira in pro league clutch a 1 v 3, which is rare in and of itself at that level. Was a great play from them combined with poor play by attackers.

So had a bad game and of course I get a message from someone telling to get outta of the game but what was funny he left as soon as he died. Just love how serious people take this game.

Barbed wire is great, but realistically, you cant expect every operator to carry it.

Its also fairly easy to counter with nades and ash rounds, and it doesnt change other 3 speed operators like the defenders

Game is headshots, so 3 armour really suffers.

Aw man, Continuum vs. Flipside—Bloodbath is the fucking best. I'm so sorry to have ever been annoyed at his mispeaking and screaming. I'm a true believer now. Dude is gold. Definitely recommend giving that match a watch. Great-ass game. Second game on the underplayed, underdeveloped, Coastline... hooooo Billy.

I'm gonna smack that motherfuckin' booty evey day now.

Bloodbath is great. He's a real genuine guy on his streams too.

Was a shame to see cTm not make LAN again, at least it wasn't Elevate knocking them out this time though.

Making the attackers waste grenades on barb wire is the best thing about barb wire though.

The other day he said "later nerd" and chat went crazy. Think it was the same night. He was on fire. And yes, I've disliked his commentating before but that was great.

Up your sensitivity and use longer lines of sight. I think there's some gadgets that can take advantage of them rushing around too. Cleverly placed frost and kapkan traps. Gas canisters, barbed wire too.

Got this game coming over the weekend (base PS4 version). What should I do first? Find some decent people in here to learn from?

Play the situations and watch all the videos to get renown then you'll be able to buy your first operators. Rook is a decent pick for defender since you can put your gadget (armour plates for the team) down right at the start.

If you want to learn the map layout and get used to the weapons and movement (like how to swing through a window while rapelling and using a breach charge) play some terrorist hunt.

The best way is just to play multplayer though, you'll just pick things up as you go, like watching where your teammates barricade first to get a sense of where the enemy is most likely to come from.
