speaking of the black order, when I was rewatching Avengers recently I noticed the chitauri dude that was mouthing off to Loki looked a hell of a lot like Corvus (I hadnt read the comics back when I firt watched the movie), they never said his name but is that who he was supposed to be and they were teasing the Black Order all the way back then?

The Black Order didn't exist back then. That character is nobody.

Weren't the Black Order created very recently (like, post-Avengers 1 recently)?

youre right actually, Hickman's Infinity was in 2013 and Avengers was in 2012. I think Infinity is the first time the Black Order shows up but I might be wrong. Probably am.

That's what I just said.

That Other character was just there to give Loki somebody to talk to so they could save Thanos for the surprise ending.

And with all of these news and reports trucking along, I see there's also been news out of Disney Animation and Pixar. I almost can't keep up with all of this goodness.

It's good to be a Disney fan!

I always assumed that Ebony Maw was kinda-sorta-vaguely supposed to be the Other, by virtue of being a sniveling mouthpiece for Thanos, but the Other ended up being a nobody that got ganked in his second appearance so I guess not.

Apologies for the Instagram and phone UI. These are from Marvel Studios' Instagram stories.

More and more liking BP's new suit but agree about the new helmet/mask. Old one was a lot better. New suit with old helmet, replacing silver for gold accents, and maybe a cape? That'd be perfect.

Not feeling the new BP suit. The mask takes it a little too far in to cat territory and the pattern on the suit isn't as interesting. They pretty much nailed it in Civil War. Only tweak I'd make is changing the accents to gold and giving him an optional cape.

EDIT: lol ^^

I think this is the first time where a new version of a suit looks worse than the previous one. It's usually always better, or pretty much the same so it's not much of a change, but here? Big disappointment.

It's something everyone can agree on!

I don't mind the new BP mask, but the Civil War one was definitely better.

Thor's new helmet looks cool. Would've liked to see the one he wore in the first movie too though.

Nah, we won't get a Infinity War trailer until Thor Ragnarok hits that's what Feige at least said.

Yeah, but then again, this is the last D23 / SDCC before it releases, so the attendees might get a first look. I surely expect to hear descriptions of some Infinity War footage.

Some first loo/special footage sure, but I wouldn't think they would show a trailer.

Is my post not obviously sarcasm? 'Cus I felt like I laid it on pretty thick.

Yes (especially FF), but that doesn't mean we can't talk about it actually happening/not happening.

They showed a proper full trailer for GotG2 last year at SDCC, and that movie was as far out from release as IW is now. Heck, they put together a teaser trailer for Spider-Man Homecoming and that movie had only been filming for some weeks at that point. A trailer is certainly possible. I'd expect a decent amount of footage for it either way.

Fuck companies that have panels and don't live stream them. I'm fucking sorry that I couldn't fly across the country and then camp out for a whole day for movie news.

Not to mention if you live on another continent. It's just so disappointing. I get that it is all part of their grand marketing/PR strategy, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Reading this Infinity event got me thinking what elements they'll bring over to the MCU, cause I know it'll be based on the comic book but not be a 1:1 adaptation right. I'm only up to Infinity book #2 but there don't seem to be that many Avengers or heroes so far, which will probably change the further into the book I delve, but it can definitely work with what we got in the MCU.

[Speculation as to what they can bring from the comic book to the movie:]
I wonder if we will see the Avengers travel out into space, if they'll invade the Titan planet, if they'll meet up with a Galactic Councel and leaders of other galaxies. If we will see the Builders, the Engineers, the Gardeners. If we will see our heroes fight off huge cockroaches or if we will see giant entities with squary heads of four faces. A creature I really wanna see is the Outriders. I can imagine them having a very alien and Hunter kind of growl.

If they will go all out there. We don't have S.W.O.R.D. either or the Skrulls but we got so much else. I can see Captain Universe not being a part of Infinity War at all. The Inhumans won't be there either probably. Which saddens we, as I like us to have the more societies and governments in the MCU as possible. And so far we only really got the US government, Sokovia, the UN and Wakanda.

Another thing I'm now speculating on is the new heroes who was said to be introduced (I'm trying to find the quote now) in Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2 (when they were called that), and how the script has 64 characters and one scene has 30 people in the frame. But we haven't heard of any castings for new heroes and filming wrapped on Infinity War yesterday. So if this means we will see new heroes in Avengers 4? Maybe Hercules, Namor l, Hyperion, Starbrand whoever.

Anyway, I'll continue my read and see if more interesting things pop up during Infinity.

Not to be a dick or a party pooper, but even if they pull the Black Order from that recent event (if only as fodder for each cast member to have someone to fight), why on earth would you think the movie would be based on a mid-level arc part of the bigger Secret Wars arc, and not based on...you know, Infinity Gauntlet, the most famous Thanos story and where the whole Gauntlet with Infinity Stones came from.
