I just came home, and have been out of it for a while, but came across this fan fade drawing of Spider-Man's Avengers suit that he gets and I thought it looked hideous in the movie but I'm really coming around on it looking at this art.

I'd love to see this acted out in the film verbatim to this script.
Hire me, Feige. I will work for $50 and a Spidey suit.
I don't think I've heard the word "twerp" uttered in a film since Matilda.
Tony is a big fan of that film.
Will Bruce Bogtrotter be revealed to have been Doctor Doom in disguise this whole time?
Of course.

As soon as he saw the children rally behind him, he knew it was the right time to step into the spotlight.

Oh jeez, if this is accurate, the suit is worse than I remember!

There's one colour you do not put on a Spider-Man outfit and that is gaudy gold.

Damn thing looks like it was made by Donald Trump.

WILL THE DEFENDERS OR OTHER TV HEROES EVENTUALLY APPEAR IN AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR OR AVENGERS 4?

large.gif

SIGNS THERE IS A CHANCE:

giphy.gif

May 2017, Kevin Feige:

i09 spoke to Feige about this possibility and he was (surprisingly) optimistic about the chances of some level of crossover happening. Specifically, he was asked about the potential for a TV character to appear in the movies, or rather if their presence on the small screen eliminates them from contention to be in the films – and apparently it does not.

Not necessarily. The future's a long time. So, the truth is, I don't really know, but there are a lot of TV shows being made, and hopefully we'll continue to make a lot of movies. At some point, there's going to be a crossover. Crossover, repetition, or something.

October 2016, Kevin Feige:

In a new interview with IGN, Feige said of Avengers: Infinity War and the yet-untitled Avengers 4, ”The fun about those two movies that we're doing essentially at the same time is everybody's there." When IGN asked Feige if ”everybody" included Netflix's Defenders, the studio chief's only reply was ”Spoilers!" Hmmm...
September, 2016: Russo brothers,Toronto Star

And while there are logistical hurdles to getting some of Marvel's TV heroes to cross over into film, the Russos haven't ruled out the possibility of Netflix super-types like Daredevil or Jessica Jones coming to the aid of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

”We do consider everyone," said Anthony Russo. ”We don't want to get too specific about what's going to happen with these movies. We want these movies to be a surprise for audiences."

SIGNS THERE ISN'T A CHANCE:

June, 2017, Kevin Feige (Allocine Interview)

Feige explained that as of right now, there are no plans to have any Marvel TV characters appearing in any of the Marvel Studios movies. He stressed that even though there aren't any plans as of this point, never say never since it's all in the same universe.

Maybe someday. No plans right now. Maybe someday, but we've a lot of characters in the MCU and one of the things that is so special about those characters on the Netflix shows is their dynamic together. They are all combining to become The Defenders later this year and are doing their own thing."

March, 2017, Anthony Mackie (Falcon)

While others have tried to be more conciliatory towards the idea, Mackie's response to the question seems far more like the truth: telling attendees at Wizard World Cleveland (via ScreenGeek), "Different universes, different worlds, different companies, different designs. Kevin Feige is very specific about how he wants the Marvel Universe to be seen in the film world. It wouldn't work. It wouldn't work at all."

October 2016, Mike Colter (Luke Cage)

Cage actor Colter appeared on Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM and was asked about this exciting possibility.

He said: ”What we do is really unique. We're adult kind of oriented. We're not PG-13. We're not really for the mass audiences, crowd pleasing, family oriented. We have sex scenes. We have, you know, adult situations, and while I think it'd be nice to be in the films, I don't know if we want to dilute what we're doing that makes us very unique."

Not exactly a promising answer there from Colter, but he didn't finish there.

The star added: ”That being said, you know Marvel, if they can make it work I'm sure it'd be nice, but it's really scheduling. They schedule movies years in advance, we're shooting TV series year round. It's very tough to just kind of make things just work the way you want to because it's just so much going on."

December 2015, Anthony Russo:

It's complicated. When we start to serialize the telling of stories it's difficult. You have to have a lot of control and focus on the course of history. The films are controlled by a group led by Kevin Feige, so they function as a unit. Other products, even if they are from Marvel, are controlled by others. Then there is the possibility of a crossover, but it's more complicated. It is a smaller scale version of the problem that exists when remembering that Fox holds the rights to some of Marvel's most popular characters, as does Sony and others. As storytellers, we only have control over what happens in Marvel movies, but everything is possible, Spider-Man (whose rights were held by Sony) became possible!

October, 2016, Kevin Feige (Collider Interview)

What do you think of the Netflix MCU and do you think any of those characters are going to make the big screen transition?

KEVIN FEIGE: I think it's extremely impressive what Netflix has done and it will be the same answer I always give, which is, ”It all depends on timing." It all depends on how to do it because I don't think what anybody wants to do is have such important characters show up for one second. Black Panther and Spider-Man to me are the high bar in Civil War of how you can bring in new characters into something. Vision and Ultron, Wanda and Pietro in Ultron. And it takes a lot of screentime, and it takes a lot of work. Infinity War has a lot of people in it already. So it just depends on how we could figure it out.

Huh. Ya know, if you take the massive spider emblem and turn it white, and turn the rest of the suit black..you've got a pretty good looking symbiote suit..

The IW description thread devolved into a Ghost Rider movie vs TV quality argument so I jumped ship on following along. Oh, internet - don't ever change

This was such a delight to watch! Was nice to see the bunch of them.

Here's to another week of excitement in the lead up to SDCC!

Infinity War: Iron-Man's suit might be based on the Model-Prime Armor:
the armor is mostly red and has a modular and rounded look to the design.

Btw, Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie might have just revealed that Avengers: Infinity War will feature a 30-minute battle scene.
"I heard a rumor," Stan revealed, "that there was a half hour battle sequence."
"Probably." Mackie added. "Probably a one-hour battle sequence."

They also reassured that it'll be much bigger in scale than what we saw in the splash page fight in Civil War:
"Somebody asked whether or not it was going to match or be bigger than the airport sequence that we had in Civil War." Stan explained. "Yeah, it will be way better and worse than that."
"Much bigger." Mackie echoed. "Imagine twenty-five airports all put together, with 100 Avengers."

The actors' reactions to the Infinity War teaser and the audience:

Mark Ruffalo:
"It was pretty amazing." Ruffalo revealed. "Just to see ten years of cinematic history converge on one stage, at this moment in time was awe-inspiring."

Sebastian Stan:
"That's the first time we've seen anything," Stan explained, "so [I'm] speechless."

Anthony Mackie:
"It was pretty intense," Mackie added. "Everybody seemed to get way more than they expected."

Karen Gillan:
"It felt so special to have so many of the amazing cast members of Avengers all together. And then there were 7,000 people in the audience, and they were all Marvel fans, and they were all screaming the house down. And it just felt like electricity. I'm just so grateful that I got to experience that. It was just such a high."

Benedict Cumberbatch:
"We're both a bit in shock, still." Cumberbatch explained in a joint interview with fellow costar Tom Holland. "We're both recovering from the full force of seeing something that's taken ten years to get to this point, both of real people's lives and of the characters' stories."
"We were both trying to fight back tears onstage. It's incredibly moving."

Paul Bettany:
"It was one of the maddest things I ever just did." Bettany explained. "Just walking out there and seeing that many people."

Elizabeth Olsen:
"It was a lot of people and a lot of screaming." Olsen added. "It's really exciting to see how people react when they hear or see someone's name or see them onscreen. It's really exciting."

Tom Holland:
"I was nearly crying." Holland explained. "I've been such a huge fan of these franchises since the beginning, and I'm sitting onstage on the floor with the Avengers, watching Avengers that I'm in. I can't believe it, I genuinely nearly cried."

Chadwick Boseman:
"It was just a very wide stage and a wide audience." Boseman explained. "It's massive, it's like a wide ocean of people. And they were so excited for literally every person that came out. You saw how much they love these movies and the assembly of all of us together, it was incredible."

Josh Brolin:
"When you see the actual manifestation, it's fun. I'm still reeling. It's a really good time."
"I remember talking to Mark [Ruffalo] when I first got into it, and I was like 'What's this like?' And he was like 'I'm onstage, and I feel like an idiot, and I don't know what I'm doing.' And then I see the movie and I go 'Oh my god, I'll do anything you want. I'll do it naked, whatever.' What they're able to do, just with this cutting edge technology, is incredible. It makes every fantasy come true."

Damn that made me laugh hard for some reason, the way Cheadle kind of surprised Mark with: "duuude dude, no you can't say that.". I sincerely hope he won't get in trouble for any of this.

I'm assuming they are going to add cgi to BP's mask and suit to get it closer this this?:

If it ends up looking like the above image I would put it above the Civil War suit.

Tom Holland:

You know, I never really thought about it, but... man, Tom Holland probably WAS a fan of the MCU as a kid, wasn't he? I mean dude wasn't even 12 when the first Iron Man came out. He's like a real-life Spider-Man with this thing, jumping up to the big leagues.

I know that's sorta true of a lot of people - I know, like, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega are the new Star Wars leads and they grew up on Star Wars and all that - but it's different getting to join a living, breathing cinematic universe, with the same movie stars you grew up watching, and standing right alongside them. That must be CRAZY. Like, wildest-dreams-come-true stuff.

Yeah, it's a pretty awesome parallel between the characters in the story and the actors in real life.

Also, I kinda wish Tony's "Avengers suit" for Spidey took more of an influence from the Iron Spider suit, ie. changing the color scheme entirely:

iron-spider-armor-mar0vl6r.jpg

The suit in Homecoming just comes off as a... weird bastardized version of Spidey's normal suit. It's not spectacular, it doesn't stand out, it's just kinda ugly.

How cool would it be if Disney and fox actually put their differences aside and at the end of infinity war in the after credits scene and everybody got their ass kicked by Thanos, we see Hugh Jackman walk into avengers tower and the claws come out.

After Logan that sounds pretty lame actually.
