World of Warcraft |OT9| People still play this? Isn't it from 2004

Which dungeon was it? sounds like Throne of the Tides perhaps. It's not that the older dungeons don't have mechanics, it's that they've been neutered so many times that you just ignore them during levelling, where Cata is....I wouldn't say HARD but it's tuned a little closer to where you can't just act like nothing does anything lol. Most groups should still be totally fine though, since most people levelling already know all of these dungeons, so if you got a bad group I'd consider it the anomaly.

Normal/levelling dungeons should be LARGELY at the point that you can kind of mess a mechanic up and learn from it without dying or wiping, like standing in that poison for a tick won't kill you and then you learned that it could happen and improved etc.

EDIT: Oh I forgot, RIGHT at each level jump it tends to be harder too since people who are getting in at like, 80 for example, don't have higher stats from gear yet most likely, like an 80 tank vs an 81 tank is probably half as survivable unless they've tweaked heirloomks since the last time I levelled.

The gilblins in Throne of the Tides just wreck level 80 and 81 tanks. I recently leveled through there and I had to be more careful on those pulls than in a lot of M+.

The real fun though is people who don't know how to do the forge boss in Blackrock Caverns.

Guess what Dungeon I'm in right now... scratch that, just finished.

So quick question about Dungeon etiquette for BM Hunters. So I am a BM Hunter and I will usually dismiss my pet when we're travelling around to make sure it doesn't pull and then call the pet whenever we're fighting stronger enemies or bosses... obviously as a BM Hunter a lot of my DPS comes from my pet and my focus is generated that way too. But in this Dungeon the Warlock kept walking the wrong way and pulling random mobs so one of the others in the dungeon asked that we dismiss our pets for the entire dungeon - I obliged of course and we got it done but I felt pretty useless. Is this usual? Should I dismiss my pet in every dungeon? (Also a quick heads up to those who may not have seen my previous posts, I'm new to this and currently leveling my first character (since TBC was released) who is now 82) -- Also, I make sure Growl is off auto cast/use for the pet in Dungeons so it doesn't pull agro.

Sounds like the dude was just mad at a bad warlock. Long as you have taunt off and aren't doing what that lock did you're good. I mean your pet is a huge part of your spec. I've actually never seen someone request all pets away for an entire dungeon tbh.

You should always have a pet summoned. Especially as a Beast Master since you can have Exotic Pets with highly useful abilities like Lust and Battle Rez. Just make sure your pets taunt is turned off and you don't make a tab-targeting mistake pulling extra mobs and you should be fine.

The only time you dismiss your pet is when your group is doing a sequence break and jumping off of a ledge. You want to dismiss your pet so it won't path through the part of the dungeon your group just avoided and pull a huge mob train.

Thanks! In dungeons I only ever target and use 'Kill Command' on mobs already pulled by the Tank so it wasn't an issue, I guess it was the lock causing issues and spread to me. I try to be very careful with my pet as I have been in all dungeons - this lock was just all over the place -- the group ended up kicking him after he pulled 5-6 big groups of mobs, 2 of which caused us to wipe.

This is me - level 82:

It's always off in dungeons. I use it Solo obviously but I either turn it off right as I queue if im doing AC stuff or I turn it off before I even move in the Dungeon. Thanks for the tips everyone though, I thought I might have been doing something wrong.

then you are being a good hunter. The dude that asked you to dismiss the pet is insane.

Also, my thoughts from my one timewalking is: "fuck healing timewalking"

Tank just chain pulling everything on shattered halls, almost died like 10 times during the run. Poor healer. I bet he would have screamed at the healer too if he died. And from Lain's post earlier that seems like its how it is most times :/

Don't dismiss your pet unless pathing issues might cause unwanted aggro.
As a BM Hunter your damage mainly comes from your pet. No pet majorly nerfs you.
Good on the growl, but I personally prefer to have a DPS pet and a Tank pet so I can just call the DPS pet when in a dungeon and do not worry about fiddling with growl every time since I always keep growl off on the DPS one.

This game has moved in a weird direction in which people are used to pull the whole dungeon and aoe it to death. Yet there are still some walls here and there, like that Succubus/Felguard room in Arcatraz. To be honest, despite liking getting things done quickly when overgearing content, I wish the game moved back to a slower pace like it had in the beginning, when CC mattered and pulling meant trying to split group, not pulling two rooms, but that's just me.

I've been trying to tame Fenryr for about a week, and I can get him down to like 10% before the adds overwhelm my pet and I. This is so frustrating.

Kinda disappointed in the Legion zones and questing. Feels like a step down from WoD, for me. WoD had a previously visited area, but changed things up enough to keep it fresh, but the zones in Legion feel too similar to existing ones. Feels like Azshara , Felwood, Howling Fjord, etc.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
Man I got blasted by RNG tonight. First nighthold run on my lock since getting to the last part of the Balance of Power questline and I got fucking 6 nightshards. Double digits is the norm.

the fuck at the droprate of these pages for the paladin class order hall quest. What were they thinking?

its 2004 all over again

edit: why the fuck is the warlock mount quest so much harder than any other?

edit: welp I cant do it lol? The other 4 were piss easy, this all of a sudden is wrecking me. I am the same ilvl more or less as the other chars (860+ish) and just no chance.

As Demo, I have no aoe and the imps overwhelm me, plus he goes through my pets super fast anyway. As destro, my dps is much better and I cant aoe the imps, but he is always on my ass and kills me in 4 hits. Either im missing something or this is a ridiculous gear check when the other class mounts (at least so far, monk, hunter, priest and druid) were not in the slightest.

Help? :/

edit: actually pissed off right now, wiped like 10 times, no matter what spec I try. Hey, im all for challenges, but either make all class mounts like this, or make none of them, this is silly compared to the rest. Guess ill try again when im 880 or whatever, because that shows skill I guess? /shrug

I did it as Destruction with a Voidwalker. I found that the Infernal is actually a lot more squishy and for soloing it's better to use the good old reliable blueberry with Grimoire of Service to pull out an imp for burst. Of course Fire and Brimstone to burn down the enemy imps.

As others have said, just turn of Growl and only dismiss your pet when you, for example, jump down a ledge and your pet would run around all the way and pull mobs. Other than that, leave it out there.

I also enjoy reading your posts. Man, what would I give to experience Cata dungeons for the first time again. Those were so good.

you are a life saver. Finally did it using fire and brimstone, that shit melted those imps nicely, thanks!

druid, hunter, monk, priest, lock :D

edit: doing WQs as Destro, melting mobs in seconds isntead of waiting for like 356 years for my Demo casts to go off and then the mobs slowly widdling down...

Thanks. I've only played 2 so far but planning on queuing for more today. I really want to get to Pandaria if I'm honest, I want to start working on rep for the dragon mounts you can get there - I've always had a fascination with Chinese dragons so.

Mythic Blckrock Foundry soloable at what ilvl, more or less?

I NEED that warlock set, like I would play the next xpac exclusively as a Lock just because of that set

The next one is Stonecore, right? Pray that you get a good tank, else you may be brickwalled on the third boss. :p

Correct, I'm queuing for Stonecore and Vortex Pinnacle right now... I remember when queues where only 5-10mins at most at lower levels. I've been queuing for 45mins now... I think its also because of the time of day and being on a low pop server.

hmm I have a Warlock conundrum... I like all the specs. Well, I dont like demo, but im a pet fanboy. I think I like Destro and Affli equally tho. I dunno what spec t open these provision boxes and shit in case a legendary pops out lol >_<

I think Im leaning towards destro, if only because its flashier.

Nah, the server has nothing do to with this since it's crossrealm. The main problem is, the higher you get, the longer the queues for DPS get because less and less tanks and healers are available. This gets a bit better at max level, but yeah, until Legion this can actually tike quite a while.

really liked the black temple timewalk, good difficulty, great loot. I hope there will be more timewalking raids.

Yeah, me too. I do wonder though how they will handle later raids, when we got a real Heroic mode (or in Ulduars case, how they will handle the hardmodes). Will we get 2 versions or only one and if we get one, which one, considering the Time Walking dungeons use the Heroic Version.

What I've been saying all along, is Destruction is amazing in world content because it is so much faster getting to full damage than the other Warlock specs. It's especially noticeable when you don't have gear. But if you get to high gear levels then you can play whatever you want.

Yesterday I did a Lower Kara +10 and I went with Demonology. I destroyed that place and barely needed a healer. Most of the time I was 2 manning with the Vengeance DH while the other 3 were running back. When you have difficult packs like that and you can cycle through the Infernal, cooldown Felguard, and spam Hand of Gul'dan like it's going out of style.. I wouldn't rather be playing ANYTHING else.

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?
Hm....I think the Building Construction is finally slowing down, at least in NA.

Usually the Nether disruptor just flies up, but it's only up ~11% up from yesterday after all the command bonuses are rolling in.

Blizz gonna have to make some adjustments - hopefully more people start flooding it so we can get double chance at loot.

I've got to say, I've really enjoyed Panaria today, I didn't dungeon at all and I only leveled 4 times today which is probably because of that, but I just really enjoyed the quests and world - its so beautiful. There was a total wow (not WoW) moment for me when I was walking through farm land and across these rolling hills and curved bridges - it was amazing. I'm totally blown away by it, I'm going to keep questing tomorrow and then jump into some dungeons after the Destiny 2 Beta on Tuesday. I'm also figuring out what my mounts will be going into the next 2 expansions of content oh and my BM pet... I want a Dino so I'm going to head to the Isle of Giants soon and tame me one.

Any arms warrior folks? Is it correct (Icy Veins) that whirlwind totally replaces slam with fervor of battle taken? Even with the +20% slam damage artifact trait? I've been using WW pretty much exclusively, but I'm curious if that 10 rage cost difference would make a difference.
