Henkei Shoujo - Cute girls doing.....wait...what!?

Nopeee, don't believe anyone who says that to justify it. The camera is consistently on the character's ass/tits most of the time. There's no woman empowerment or trope aversion/parody in that show.

Yeah. Some people mistake "subverting a trope" and having twice as much fanservice as your usual anime.

This is some wacky weirdness.

Aeromorph....

Im serious

google if you dare....

Oh yeah, it's pretty bizarre. Although since all the basic aeromorph designs are built on aquatic bases, they look like cyber sharks/dolphins that are trying too hard. It's kinda embarrassing.

Edit: also hey, for the sake of civility, could we not do the whole "identify as" thing? Furries don't identify as animals, those are otherkin, and people generally don't identify as machinery, that's a mean-spirited joke making fun of trans people.

This isn't even that bad compared to Transformers:Kiss Players which is an official part of Japanese transformers continuity.

Not SFL, google at your on risk.

And that was what? At least over a decade ago right?

This kind of stuff still surprises people?

Those who only know of a few series but generally unaware of how encompassing anime can be, both good, bad, bizarre, strange and everything else in between.

And to think Japan broke me with live action rather than anime. Nothing that country does surprises me anymore so I'm immune to stuff like this.

I see there is some debate on whether its satire or not. I don't think it is because the title is a play on kanji meanings. We all know Hentai (変態)、which is for Japanese anime adult content. Hentai can also be written like this (変体) to mean change ones bodily form. However since the girls turn from humans to machines they seems to switch out (体) for (形) which is used for when something looks like something else (inanimate). Also the adverts after each episode.

As far as I know Japanese never use the word "hentai" for their adult content, is either ero-game, ero-anime, etc, etc.
