prestige was great, begins was great, dark knight was good, and from then on he was just okay. I wasn't a big fan of inception or rises, and interstellar and Dunkirk were both not good movies to me. Not outright bad, but not good and not ones I feel happy about spending money on. I doubt I will ever go out of my way to watch one of his movies again. Dude isn't for me. Not sure if I am who you are talking about when it comes to being insecure but I posted my thoughts here because I figured it might help a fellow hockey fan make a decision about going.
Movie has good sound effects and music but the plot is nonexistent, the dialogue (what little dialogue is actually in the movie) is poor, and the actual presentation of the movie and the way it was structured was frustrating. I did not understand why Nolan decided to jump back and forth between the three storylines and time periods for this. I could follow along easily enough but why?
Others evidently enjoy it and that's great. Everybody deserves to see a movie they enjoy. I wanted to post about the movie and maybe have a bit of discussion here. The big Nolan fans are all over the Dunkirk thread and if I would have went there and posted about it they probably would have gotten all pissy. Sorry for raining on your parade, Bask.
