Pokemon GO Fest's livestream is absolutely must-see

No reason keeping a bunch of hot, angry people around.

It's only going to get worse... disband them.

I'd be terrified that doing so would create a riot with tensions as they are. All I can imagine is that they are going to be overly generous with the "rewards".

Or else PokéRiot 2017

I bitched about UK's event today being a walk around a historic town, but hey, they end up having a more pleasant and wholesome time. Eating crow.

I don't understanding people wanting someone to a "funny" video about this, there's nothing funning about it.
Hope TPC takes an atitude.

The worst thing that was said to you were that your claims were bullshit. Given how you said...

...in response to somebody who claimed that spoofers were prevalent... yeah. Yeah it was a totally accurate and proportionate response to the nonsense you were peddling.

Feel free to continue playing the victim however. Like I said earlier, it's cute.

I was over-exaggerating, to be honest. I just didn't think it was worth saying anything else beyond that when all I got was "you're wrong you're wrong" and "it's funny that you think it's dead".

Is it really nonsense to believe that I think that a lot of people play at home than physically walk still? I don't doubt that hardcore raid groups exist, as they totally do. But apparently my idea was absolutely absurd. I still play by walking too, almost every single day.

Apparently they have just increased the radius of spawn points up to 2 miles from the park and extended it til Monday. At least the people stuck in line aren't completely fucked.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in Niantic HQ right now.

Despicable. Shut this down now, won't get any better now that they've lost the crowd. Seeing that makes me really fucking angry.

As for comparisons to DashCon and FyreFest, the level of idiocy isn't as big, but this feels worse because it's a major company and brand fucking up in a way these big companies just don't and can't fuck up.

FyreFest was a scam by known scammer Billy McFarland. Wasn't like some awesome company that screwed shit up. It was an outright/borderline scam, really. Read the Vanity Fair article about it.

DashCon was a bunch of amateurs that had no idea what they were doing and ran into all the problems you'd expect a bunch of amateurs with no business / management experience to run into.

This is fucking Pokemon inviting 20,000 people in Chicago. This is amazing to me that this has happened in a way that the other two didn't surprise me at all.

Starting to assault an innocent host is insane. I understand being angry,as this entirely on Niantic, but that's just too much.

They should shut this down and reimburse everyone, before something really bad happens.

I just don't understand why they didn't do some amazing one week long global event through the game instead of a one day event that they knew they weren't prepared for.

And not just a box of goodies you buy or a Pikachu with a hat. Like prepare an update with new features. Each day everyone works on a goal and the next day you receive a bonus for achieving said goal and you work on another one. Just something would have been better

Mind you, the one guy that threw the bottle might have been getting shit from people next to him for it. It sounds like we didn't hear people cheering on the bottle throw, or any others following the example.

Not just a small ass developer, but a small ass developer with previous history of server issues. T

And on that note, why is it still seemingly a small development team with all the investment opportunities? Or maybe it isn't at this point.
But with so many other 'gacha' games actively pissing out new, quality content, it seemingly takes Niantic a long time to balance and add moves to 3DS models...?

End this event now. TPC is already going to ream Niantic. The damage had been done to the fans that are there. The spectacle has already been mad eon the internet. Now end it. The bottle throwing opens the door for far worse smh...

It's a shame about the fest. I wish nintendo could spare a team and give GO the FFXIV treatment but That'll never happen.

When you use hyperbole, don't be shocked if people call you out for being inaccurate.

That said, yes, yes it is nonsense to believe more people play from home than actually play the game the conventional way. As somebody who regularly raids by myself, I can always depend on multiple people showing up for Machamps or Tyranitars. "Invisible" trainers are relatively rare.
Your question isn't really well worded so I'm not 100% sure what you were asking. Apologies if I misinterpreted.

I can't help but feel that would make the situation far worse.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
I don't know if I will continue playing this game after what has happened. It's clear this game will still have major issues for a long time.

They totally botched this event.

That being said the for the rest of the world not at this event Poke Go is the same today as it was yesterday. It's not like it suddenly got worse for everyone else.

That being said I'll be interesting to see how they handle legendaries going forward.

This is the most fair response. I do think a lot of it can be anecdotal on both sides. Lots of people say they raid or they know a few guys that still play, but for myself, I have yet to see any of that activity. I have never actually seen anyone stand/park anywhere near a gym while a raid has been going, and that includes Tyrannitars, Snorlaxes etc. It's been a VERY long time since I have physically seen another person play, and this is in heavily populated places. The game still makes money, for sure, as there are still the hardcores. But, I know people that got fed up with Niantic and just started spoofing to get the region exclusives, which is still a pain for people who don't travel to Florida etc.

It's a shame when technology doesn't cooperate. Quite a few big games had server issues that screwed over people from playing their game(Driveclub and MCC being two huge ones). It's not like Niantic is deliberately fucking up the servers. Sometimes shit happens. It still sucks for those that traveled far for this event, though.

Fyre Festival was worse since it seems the event planners knew about the shit beforehand.

As for shutting the event down now, that might create more tensions, unless Niantic somehow compensates players with free legendaries. If they can't/don't, that bottle throwing could be tame compared to what might happen, since apparently not everyone there is mature enough.
