If you own a movie and it's on netflix, where do you watch it?

I watch it on Blu Ray. I don't find any discomfort in putting a disc into my PS4. Right now I'm stuck with an old 2011 720p TV briefly though so I care less. (And the foliage on Dragon Age: Inquisition is hurting my sensitive spoiled eyes a bit, too, but that's neither here nor there.)

Netflix. I hate dealing with discs.

Edit - I will say I don't buy movies anymore. So I don't really have this dilemma.

Mabye it's my connection but I think bkurays tend to look noticeable better than 1080 content on Netflix.

So I got with Blu-ray.

With that said.... I own like, 8 blurays so it's not something that happens often.

Its not your connection.

Netflix Streaming is using lower bitrates to save sizes/bandwith.

Uhh Blu-Ray if I have it..??

In the same time it's not really that much a dilemma on my part.

I've come to love rips/digital storage though, hope it's implemented more often over the years.

I'd be rewatching it at that point, so the slight convenience of not grabbing the disc would probably win out. It's usually a impromptu rewatch anyways.

I have a fairly large bluray collection (about 200 movies), but will usually just watch on Netflix for the convenience and it being on all platforms.

I love director/cast/crew commentaries on movies though, so I so watch all of my blurays at least once for those.

Unless it's something I really love I'd likely go with Netflix. Well less so now as I have data caps on my internet, sadly.

I've thought for a while now Netflix should branch out and let you buy content through Netflix, make it a repository for streaming as well as purchased stuff. Things purchased stay forever and not linked to whether it's available to stream on the service. Would be ideal as Netflix quality is very good to my eyes and it would just streamline everything.

The sound is such shit from streaming compared to BR.

I notice that even more than the crappy quality on fast moving scenes.

Unless it's 4K, I watch the streaming version because who got time to mess with discs? Nobody that's who.

If I'm watching something more for the visuals over the plot/characters, BR easily. The pic quality is noticeably better and apprently Netflix's 4K bitrate is still a bit lower than a BD's lower bit rate.

However on my PC/Phone etc I don't notice the difference too much, but if I actually play things on my TV then the difference between Netflix HD/4K and actual HD/UHD discs is very apparent

Netflix loads in seconds.

PS4 you gotta turn it on, watch some "don't pirate" shit, select watch movie, watch ad.
Fuck that noise

First time is always Blu-ray. What's the point otherwise. The difference in quality is rather pronounced.

Blu-ray @home

Netflix everything/everywhere else.

If I'm in the bedroom I just use Netflix. If I'm in the living/family room I'll probably be lazy and use Netflix. If I'm in the theater room downstairs, blu-ray every time.

Asked a friend this same question a few days ago. He has Flight of the Conchords on DVD plus HBO Go. Just decided to watch it on HBO Go as he didn't have to fiddle with the discs and could watch as many episodes as he wanted back to back.

I chose the casual life and I'm enjoying it.

netflix for everything and fuck my 5.1 sound so what if my tv is just capable of putting 2.1 out there let the machine mix it up mhhh to the sound of wrong channels.

went from nice audio setup to just using spidf from my tv and life has become so much easier. No extra device, just the tv and the audio device.

I've ripped every Blu-Ray I have, loaded them all into Plex, and can watch them wherever I want on whatever I want, including when I'm away from home if the connection is decent.

Once you get over the initial effort hurdle of ripping disks, it's by far the best way to enjoy your movies.

I own so much anime but fuck it, if it's on Funimation, Crunchyroll or Hulu that's where I'm watching it. I'm incredibly lazy.

Never going to take Netflix, if I have the Bl-ray in hand.

I get to lounge on the couch either way, no?

Depends on the movie, for things like comedies I'll happily just stream it, but if I was rewatching a blockbuster I own, or something like Kubo then definitely cracking out the Blu Ray
