This is a GAFfer-made game.I am the level designer for the game so I guess I know a couple of things.
We've rewritten the entire code for movement control so that it should feel a lot better as well as work much better with controllers this time for our console release.
I've done a passover on all levels and done improvements on them, even scrapped one or two that didn't feel right and rebuild them from the ground up. Also improved the graphical assets of the levels to make them look better and more distinct.
We have now a whole new way of selecting levels instead of through a menu that should feel more atmospheric.
Added new options for less hardcore players so that more people can play through the game.
And a bunch of other things, it's not a completely new game, but it is an improvement on the original based on feedback we got and wanted to address.

It's an interesting market, that's for sure. I like to think of games like this as Empathy Simulators, titles that expose us to challenging & tragic real-world experiences we might otherwise have a blind spot for.
Papers Please, That Dragon Cancer, Cart Life, Papa & Yo, Sunset, This War of Mine, etc. Plus a host of itch.io titles like Real Lives, Against All Odds, Darfur is Dying.
Decades of slaying dragons and shooting space aliens in games can start to feel rote after a while. Games that explore real-world people living real-world lives is a refreshing frontier for me personally. It's what made Gone Home such a landmark experience for me some time back.
I'll still be first in line for the next Fallout game or whatever, but it's nice to have some tonal variety in the market with titles that dig a little deeper than Summer Blockbuster fare.

Yeah, I don't know if I'd have finished the game on consoles. Being able to get rid of the motherbase grinding and timers was a god-sent.
I've started playing Darksiders two days ago and it's pretty neat. It felt very shallow at first but you get new stuff every once in a while and have diversified segments in regards to gameplay/approach so that's nice. PC version of the remaster is great too, it seamlessly adopts to aspect ratio and runs very well aside from occassional loading stutter.

It's always amazes me how some people can pronounce such easy word as Prey in wrong way.
Proposal:
Make it an RPG with a spell cast failure mechanic. Akko has a .1% chance of succesfully casting spells. Gameplay will be sitting in lessons and having to keep Akko awake, as well as casting the same spell over and over again until it's successful in order to pass subjects. There is no progression.
There will also be various boss-fights or events where you have to use the Shiny Rod. Those are quicktime events.

Here's hoping for Strongbad and Monkey Island as the 2nd week extras in the Telltale bundle. Will totally be Wolf, Back to the Future and Jurassic Park though.

Nah Tales is fine. IMHO it's an overall solid PnC, but some don't like the early episodes as much as the last ones.
