Sorry for the late reply, but yes that's the normal price. Plus I have a discount card so I got it for 36, result.

sweet. though my local tesco (the full on supermarket, not the express ones) has no switch stuff at all so I'll have to pop off to the superstore next week unless someone else price-matches

Any deals on the download code for Splatoon? I have Mario kart glued into the cart slot

Edit: actually its Zelda so I could go physical, but download is preferred

That's what I did with Atelier. Found it for 19,99€ at Gamestop and added a price match request at Amazon for it. First time it worked for my, maybe they wanted to price match it anyway, because they did it for almost all other games from the games on Sale at Gamestop.

Would it work with games that are already out of stock on Gamestop? Say, Attack on Titan?

No stock in my local Tesco. Annoyingly they kept the cases on the shelf which gave me hope, then shot me down at the till when they said they'd sold out.

Non gaming deal but I thought some of you cheap-ass gaffers could benefit from this...

I signed up to this £4 online course last week. Once you've purchased and registered for the course, you become eligible for NUS membership. An NUS card costs £12 for 1 year (or £32 for 3 years). Once you have your NUS membership you can sign up for Amazon Student which gets you 6 months free Amazon Prime and half price Prime once that runs out (£39 per year). You can also get half price Spotify, 10% off at Co-Op, 10% off Apple products and tonnes of other NUS discounts.

Full details are in this HUKD thread

The first Splatoon didnt have any voicechat at all, plus you can just use Discord rather than the app, so as rubbish as the app is i see no reason why it would put anyone off buying the entire game lol

The impression that I got was that the app was required for multiplayer? I.e. to join a multiplayer game you had to use the app to search for it? Is that wrong?

EDIT: oh well looks like I missed out on the best deal for that anyway :(

For those in Italy, Mediaworld has a "No Tax Weekend" where everything is has 22% IVA (VAT) removed (Equal to 18.04% discount).

Mediaworld.it

I'm going to the store later to check if there is anything interesting, but the website also has the discounts

Nintendo Switch would be 270 EUR (not available online)

Yes. That is 100% wrong. I've played 20h of multiplayer already and never used the App for that.

Multiplayer generally works like it does in the first game. Didn't you play the Splatfest last week?

Amazon seems to have Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia limited edition in stock if anyone's interested.

As much as I love this LE, they made way too many of them.

Which would have been fine, reall, had it not then made Nintendo vastly, VASTLY underestimate the demand for the new Metroid LE.

They determined that by looking at the past sales of FE titles and Metroid titles.

https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B06XSGFB42/ €70 in Spain. Has been available for that price for over a month.

I paid 20€ more than that before release (amazon.de) because I was afraid it would be another FE Fates LE sort of deal. I feel like a chump.

On the other hand, remember that Mafia 3 LE deal I listed a week or two ago? Mine came in and the thing is gorgeous. It's exactly what I would imagine a collector item being like.

The SoV limited edition was sold out in the UK on launch, but yeah seems like everywhere else in Europe it was readily available.

speaking of Nintendo LEs,

I don't think I ever witnessed a rarer LE by nintendo here in Europe than the original Hyrule Warriors for WiiU with scarf

2 or 3 months after release, I checked amazon.de and there were like 7 listings by third parties and all of them above 150 euro.

(this one: Hyrule Warriors LE)

is there a website similar to camelcamel that will price track and send you emails on price drops on websites that aren't amazon?

A couple of decent prices from Grainger Games:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt GotY Edition (PS4/Xbox One) - £17.99 new / £14.99 used

Yeah, that one was a pain to track down at a reasonable price. I think I got my copy for around £80 from eBay a couple of years ago, but that took some doing.

The Link Between Worlds CE is another scarce one, possibly more so: https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/PC-Video-Games/Zelda-Link-Between-Worlds-Collectors/9724034399/

So a strange thing has been going on. I purchased Elite Dangerous last week from a store in the UK using a prepaid credit card, transaction went through fine, then 5 days later it was refunded. I then ordered Final Fantasy 15 and just now that's been refunded too, what should I do?

A) Tell them
B) Order a Switch

So tried speaking with them via Twitter and they are refusing to believe they are being credited... Saying that the transactions are showing fine their end with no refunds processed.

GTA V (PS4)... in 6 years, when it finally hits 15 or 20 € i'm going to get it. 30 € is still too much since i already played through it on PS3.

Talk to your card company, they can take the transactions back and chase you like it's a debt if they do take them fully.

Who is good for reward points on game purchases? Looking at where I might try for a Switch. Cash back all seems to be in the 1% region. Argos' £10 gift card seems to be time limited.

Disappointing that some retailers have jacked the price up to £20-40 above RRP.

It's pretty disgusting really. You'll pay £30-40 more for a used Switch at Cex than you will a brand new one in some places. An extra £30-40 for a Switch that smells like old balls.

I'm gonna go option B, you've done your bit...
