Meh, as a Midwesterner, I'd take Culver's over In-N-Out any day:

web-butter-burger-deluxe-double-bacon.jpg

I mean yeah dude, my wife swears by them and their concretes

Yep. Culver's > Five guys or In N' Out.
Culver's has a veggie burger that is damned good. As a vegetarian, I still don't understand why most of the biurger chains haven't tried to tap into that market. Burger King has been selling a veggie burger for over a decade now.

Also, they sell delicious deep fried cheese curds. How can anyone compete with that?!

If you're not ordering the fries to be "well done" at In-N-Out, then you're doing it wrong

So much better than just ordering their fries as they are

Toasted buns is also a must

RBH knows what's what. Well done fries, and toasted buns - everytime. Don't forget animal style burger.

Five Guys and Shake Shack are everywhere because they like money

In-N-Out stays where they're at because they A: know they can't compete and B: realize you West Coast hipster goof bastards will take up arms for them along with quinoa and free-range chicken farms

I'm coming for you motherfuckerrrrr

Best coast has five guys seemingly every where now. dont care for it, you guys can have it back. but ill trade you half of our coasts in n out locations for a quarter of your shake shack locations =/ shake shack > in n out

sincerely, lifetime socal resident.

If you're going to criticize In N Out, at least try their burgers ANIMAL STYLE next time. It's much better.

Also, it's a freaking $3 burger. Don't compare it to $10 burgers at five guys.

Theirs fries are indefensible though.

I get mad whenever I see rumors of them coming to Colorado, I know it's always a hoax and not true at all, but it always gets my hopes up.

Five guys is trash, I make better burgers at home. most of the food I make at home is better than most food I get at restaurants.

=/

curious to try in and out when im on the west coast

Had it in Vegas. Animal style and all that. Was fine. Thought Whataburger was better honestly.

That isn't saying I would not still go there. But, oh well.

Habit is better anyway

Habit is like literally 3 times more expensive. The appeal of In n Out isn't that it's, like, on a cosmic scale the best food ever made and you'd pick it over anything. It's that for $3 a burger or whatever it beats the everloving shit out of McDonald's and similar crap. Habit is closer to competing with, say, 5 Guys in terms of price, and I'd give it to 5 Guys over Habit.

[And yes, In n Out's fries are not great, but you can mitigate the badness by getting well done fries]

Mcdouble is cheaper, even with added toppings like lettuce tomato.

... the comparison to a Double Double is somewhere around a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese.

A couple years go my wife & I were eating at a Portillos in the Chicago suburbs. This pompous guy at the next table was going on and on about how bad it was and that the In-N-Out Burger was the superior burger.

It became a in joke for us.

A few months ago we went back to California for vacation and with much anticipation ate at In-N-Out.

It's OK. But it's not a God tier burger or anything.

I do not get Californians that hold this place in so high regard.

The bible references don't help. Very unprofessional.

Texas wins at food again and always. Especially fast food. It's amazing that we get In-N-Out, Shake Shack, Five Guys, Chick-Fil-A, Cane's, Chicken Express, Popeye's, KFC, AND Whataburger.

You are forgetting Culvers, We have lots of Culvers in Dallas :D

The Habit and it's offshoot The Hook are legit, but jesus fuck it's super expensive compared to In and Out or literally any other burger joint. The Hook especially. That's basically a sit down burger joint.

Bible references?

All their cups and wrappers have a bible verse's number listed on them. That's it.

This motherfucker just compared a McDouble to an In N Out burger.

Triggered.

If you can't tell the difference between a reheated frozen burger that's been sitting around for 10 min before you even order it, and a fresh in n out burger that's made to order, there is no hope for you.

I have had In-N-Out many times in my trips to LA.

Wendys and 5 Guys are both better, by some margin. We'll be fine Cali thanks tho.

You do realize everyone, including the majority of foreign countries, has KFC, right?

Like, they aren't a regional chain that somehow snuck into Texas.

I've eaten KFC in Iraq.

See. For me this is a plus. I only eat at these places irregularly since they're so bad for you. It works out for me! I love the higher end burger chain concept.
