Nah, I can't get with this. A good Wonder Woman movie made more money than a middling to bad Superman movie, but that doesn't mean Wonder Woman is a bigger name than Superman in any form of media, including movies. Like, there's an argument to be made that a good Man of Steel 2 could make more money than a good Wonder Woman 2 (I mean, it wouldn't be the greatest argument, but it could be made).

I understand they skipped the origin story. I think people are just tired of Spidey constantly having to start over. (Amazing Spider Man 2 was just awful). There is a certain sameness to most of the of Spider Man movies that can't be avoided. I doubt anyone felt they needed to see this twice, not much in repeat viewings. (I personally thought Homecoming is the most promising of what we will see of Spider Man in the future)
I think people will be more on board for the next movie.
Someone was arguing that Sony funded that study as promo for one of the ASM movies, and much of the licensing for Spidey was due to tie-in stuff. Can't seem to find that post now, though.
Edit: Though, looking at those numbers now, that kind of makes sense. Marvel has much higher numbers because that was back before the DCEU and Teen Titans Go had just hit the scene.

Flawed as it is, it is still leagues better than Man of Steel, BvS, and Suicide Squad. Hell, Green Lantern was better than those films.
It should be a 50 minute film with a 30 minute post credit scene.

Imma check now. Oh, 100 minutes, awesome. I do feel that movies are way too long at 2 hours minimum these days. Good 80's movies that you love are usually just 90 minutes (barely) in the theatrical cuts. One of my reasons to watch a lot of '50s movies this year has been the 70-80 minute runtime, which I can watch without making it an event.
(and as a sidenote: yes, Master and Commander is awesome. I've been meaning to rewatch it for a while, but the ending doesn't anger me, it's the expected result of 'the game' they set up before that, so that fit the narrative as a 'marching on' type ending)

Between the GotG2 and Spider-Man Homecoming credits, Marvel is already over halfway there.
I half expect the Infinity War credits to just be the cast sitting there doing nothing for the entire credits, then the film to end without fanfare.

I'm surprised it doesn't. But the average rating is quite low, a little higher than Man of Steel, Thor 2, and Incredible Hulk.
At the same time I don't know why Iron Man 3's is so low.
