Don't need to press the panic button.
There will be a lottery this week in Bic Camera, but it will be on Sunday 30th (probably to avoid the DQXI launch and make stores collapse with people lining for DQXI & Switch at the same time).

http://www.biccamera.co.jp/shopguide/news/nintendo_switch/index.html

Depending on the store, it will be the Splatoon Bundle, the Neon, or the gray model.

It looks Nintendo doesn't see Splatoon 2 bundle as a secondary SKU, amazon was the same.

Omiya is getting the grey version, fuck

Hope they will carefully check the numbers this time, and considering they show the results one hour later then the usual, seems like they'll do :D

I mean, is it not possible to render the dual screens on a single setup? Try to find an alternative for them rather then cut them all out together?

DS emulation on Wii U offers a style where you hold the gamepad vertically to show both screens. That would work for Switch even without a smartphone grip. Problem is, both Switch and smartphone screens are capacitive and lack the precision of stylus map drawing. EO style games really suffer on devices other than the DS family.

From the Consumer sub-segment of our core Digital Contents business we launched Ultra Street Fighter II We reduced expenses in this quarter with the aim of profit improvement, which included reviewing and re-evaluating our cost of sales and selling, general and administrative expenses. (For the Nintendo Switch), which gave a favorable starting performance. Additionally, Resident Evil 7 biohazard and Monster Hunter XX (Double Cross) , both released in the previous fiscal year, contributed to profit improvement to a certain degree.

①Digital Contents business
In this business, although the first quarter corresponds to the market’s off-season in terms of the launch cycle for major titles, Ultra Street Fighter II (for Nintendo Switch), which was released in May 2017, made an excellent start and proved to be a smash hit. In addition, Resident Evil 7 biohazard (for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC) and Monster Hunter XX (Double Cross) (for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems) contributed to revenue to a certain extent.

Couldn't find forecasts. Guess that won't be until the next quarter for Capcom.

Of all games to make that threat on. You might as we ask if bears shit in the woods if your going to question the platform that project will end up on.
Why? Persona Q is a good game that received decent reviews. A sequel should theoretically improve over the predecessor and hence should be enjoyable no matter the platform.

You are saying this like I am crying over missing out on Ever Oasis or Hey Pikimin. I don't care about these games or similar mediocre releases still hitting 3DS.

Switch third party support was saved all along.

Now how will we find how many of these 2m RE7 Capcom will ship until the end of March were shipped this quarter.

edit: 200k

1,8m more to go. Bye bye.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
XX is still at 1.7 million? Wow, sales fucking tanked after they announced the Switch version didn't they.

Its actually the opposite...more people picked it up after they were assured that they could play with Switch owners in the future and/or convert their savegame to the Switch version. Retailers just had enough stock of the game so there were no large new shipments.

Capcom can't get any mobile games to stick and none of their new console games are going to meet expectations. Their successes are old games released on newer platforms.

Capcom has absorbed their mobile division.

Capcom Co., Ltd. announces that it has resolved at the Board of Directors meeting on July 28, 2017 to perform an absorption-type merger with its wholly-owned subsidiary, Capcom Mobile, Inc. (the "Merger"), on September 1, 2017. Since the Merger is with a wholly-owned subsidiary, Capcom is omitting some disclosure items and details.

1. Purpose and details of the Merger
Capcom has decided to carry out the Merger with Capcom Mobile in order to increase the competitiveness of the Capcom Group. Capcom believes that integrating its Mobile Contents business will generate operational efficiencies And result in effective use of management resources.

Wow, despite their continued attempts to lower the bar I am still astounded at Capcoms level of incompetence. RE 7 their flagship western franchise on these platforms is still struggling to reach 4 million shipped.

What fucking chance does MHW have of reaching 4.1 million shipped?

Japan will save the west will save monster hunter

edit:
But about MH for real,
It seems they're really going for it with this one.
So if it hits, it might really hit.
If not, oh well

Wait, did Capcom share their expectations for MHW? Can't find them at the moment.

By the look of it, you never played or intended to play PQ, or you wouldn't ask for it to leave 3DS.

Well, that's silly too. The Etrian games aren't great just because of the mapping feature. In fact, many of the games -- PQ included -- already introduced auto-mapping for people who don't want to bother with having to draw in everything by hand.

It will be sad to see the feature gone (will -- because eventually they'll have to leave 3DS behind), but Etrian is a damn fine top of the class dungeon crawler regardless. You can like these games a lot even if you aren't particularly into the mapping aspect of it. That's true for PQ in particular, actually, considering its biggest draw is the fan-service-y nature of it. (Not that I doubt PQ2 will release on 3DS, I don't think Atlus will pass on the chance to squeeze another game out of their 3DS engine).

I haven't seen it yet if they have but 2-3 million would be a failure for the project. There's no doubt about that.
If they have their expectation at 2-3 million and they hit them, it should be fine. Your comment only makes sense if they fail to do so like what happened with RE7.

Last fiscal year:

RE7's goal: 4 million
RE7's actual sales: 3.5 million

This fiscal year:

RE7's goal: 2 million
RE7's progress in the first quarter: 200K

Good luck with that Capcom.

Street Fighter V's history:

March 2016: 1.4 million
June 2016: 1.4 million
September 2016: 1.4 million
December 2016: 1.5 million
March 2017: 1.6 million
June 2017: 1.7 million

Initial target for sales as of March 2016: 2 million

They needed a long time to sell out the initial shipment, but they're moving about 100K every three months now.

It's still pretty pathetic for a game that's getting continual updates and sells for peanuts.

3DS sales in average are 1 million in the west. Combined with the usual 2+ million Japanese sales they can get away with these sales consistently on a yearly basis.

A budget increased MH that takes multiple years to make and are unlikely to sell yearly and only makes 2-3 million is might as well not even bother territory.

Regardless of what Capcom says if I was a share holder and they came back with those results I'd be fricken pissed. I'd assure you they would not be happy with that result. That is a drastic revenue drop.

We've had this before with DQXI but publishers don't increase the budget by a lot for their games and then are "fine" with the same or even less revenue compared to past instalments. SE will not be fine when DQXI sells less than DQIX worldwide even though they put way more money into it. This is a business and the same will apply to MHW.

MHW will assuredly be GaaS or Capcom has completely lost the plot. So the total sales expectations can be lower. The RPP will be higher assuming they can maintain engagement and have a good shop/plan.

That said, their investors will likely *not* be happy to hear about a million+ sales expectations decline entry over entry after this report and the state of RE and SF.

SF cannot be saved at this point.

Apparently Capcom is raising expectations for Monster Hunter World after the E3 show, whatever that means for them.

In addition, at E3, one of the world's largest trade shows for computer and video games, held in the U.S., Monster Hunter: World (for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC), which will be the latest release in the series and one of our major titles for the current fiscal year, drew much attention from show-goers, raising expectations for its release in the second half of the fiscal year.
