Because exactly they're a "soft boy" who can use that to their advantage. Soft boy doesn't denote a man's morality. Just like how "nice guy" was dismantled to be anything but, so the same will happen to "soft boy".

Phrases like "sweet boy" "soft boy" "good good wrestle boy" show up in pretty much everything the Mcelroy brothers do, and this includes the series that Robinson was a part of. Because of that its sort of become a joke to refer to them as "soft boys" or "good good video game boys", which is what I was referencing. I'm actually surprised there are people who use the term seriously lol

For reference: Every time they say "boy" on Monster Factory https://youtube.com/watch?v=zYZl_YOMg7E

What makes Total Biscuit a milkshake duck?
only seen a few of his vids
He hasn't completely gone off the deep end yet - he's still quite left, pro LGBT, anti trump etc etc - but his irrational hatred of traditional news media has put him on the wrong side of history many times, with him siding with GG being his most notable fuckup.

Pretty much. He's not in bed with them, but still willing for a one night stand if the occasion arises, to extend the metaphor a bit.

-- my first real NOOOO was Michael Jackson being a pedo.

-- Michael Richards being a militant racist shocked me.

-- it was obvious in retrospect but Dave Mustaine from Megadeth. I was at Ozzfest 98-99 and he was the biggest cunt on stage. That changed my fandom a lot. THEN it turns out he's some typical Arizona crypto fascist.

-- I only learned about A m i r 0 x from this very thread. I wasn't a fan so much as someone who saw him over the years. Literally WTF.

-- not quite on the same spectrum here but Michael Jordan apparently being the biggest asshole of all time (the whole "I'm not your daddy" thing) really upset me. Of course he's a huge asshole but damn man.

-- Jaimee Foxx roasting that comedian while he was performing ruined everything he's ever done for me.

Calling Amir0x a milkshake duck is a bit of a stretch. Nobody expected him to be pedophile obviously, but I don't recall him having that good of a reputation beforehand.

This one i still dont QUITE get the hate. A lot of sci fi generally takes an idea, good or bad, and stretches ot to the extreme. Dunno why extreme progressivism should be off the plate. Demolition Man did a similiar thing in the 90s. Unless there is some aspect to this im missing havent followed it too much.

H.P. Lovecraft...
I guess every HPL fan has that moment when he/she discovers his ideas

to be frank, even considering it's not milkshake duck if the guy's racism has been known for decades, I think it's particular since his works would probably be different if he wasn't... well, highly paranoid.

Not to excuse the fact that he was certainly more racist than the average in his time. But he's all about the fear of the unknown, so you can guess where it comes from.

it's cuz the creator/designer actually wholeheatedly BELIEVES that stuff will happen, or at least believes there's a likelihood that progressivism will lead into a dystopia. when a creator holds some views you don't agree with, politically, some argue that "you can remove the work from the creator" but when the work thoroughly reflects all of those controversial opinions at its very core, you really can't.

This is a good first post. SP was amazing back in the 90s during Saimese Dream/Melancholy even Adore era. The ballad alt-rock emo band all teens could relate to. Tons and tons of songs released and unreleased and Corgan could fucking shred on the guitar. Live shows deviated into epic 10+ min jams, basically SP was amazing.

Then 2000s come and everyone finds out old creepy Corgan is wtfffffffffffff and new SP is making songs for car commercials -_-

This one sucked.
...especially for all those guys and gals who got SP heart tattoos :X

It absolutely sucks and I hate it... but at the same time I have never been surprised by it.

He spent his entire career being an underdog and believing himself to be persecuted in his hometown, in the alternative scene, by critics, etc. This was only gonna end one of two ways: he either makes peace with the world or the persecution widens until it's the kids and sjws who won't let him say what he wants to say.

JonTron is probably the biggest for me. I fell in love with GameGrumps early on, and it helped me explore some of the other YTers like PBG or ProJared. During the whole GamerGate thing, I stopped following Jon because he was saying some stuff I didn't agree with. I'd still watch his videos every once in a while. But since his whole racist tirade, I'm 100% done with him.

Quite literally Nick Robinson, as I was just starting to work through Polygon's video backlog when the news about him dropped.

One less thing to slog through, I suppose.

JonTron for me. Unsubscribed and me and my friends stopped quoting his one-liners once we found out what he really thinks of black people. Only silver lining is that it gives original Game Grumps a whole new context.

Nick Robinson being a milkshake duck is one that kinda hurts a lot at the moment. Like, stuff he's created with Griffin McElroy over the last year or two has been really important for me and has brought me so much joy, to find out that he's been using that public persona, that wholesome, inclusive image of himself that he'd created and the fanbase he's helped build up for that work to give himself power over people, to (by all accounts) be a gross dehumanizing horny creepo and harass people and know that there's nothing his victims are able to do about it because of the power people like me gave him, shit man.

Hell, I modelled my fucking hair after him. Christ.

Poor hair. Do you think you could model your hair after Max Landis?

As long as they're not actively engaging in murder, rape, pedophilia, confirmed sexual harassment, unjustified assault, or robbery, I'm ok with celebrities.

Billy Corgan being a wacko

Dammit that was mine. Always knew he was a weirdo which I was cool with. The last several years he's really shown to be straight bonkers. Mega out of touch with what fan base he has left and just hoarding material and refusing to release it.

Mike has made fun of trump a lot openly, so it seems like that is safe.

Mike and Rich in particular say some pretty weird stuff, but most of it seems to be either sarcastic or just clueless at worst.

That said, Rich does seem to have a bit of a bootstrap mentality from growing up poor and has a tendency to double down on things when presented with opposing opinions.

Dude is a gamergater and then made a game about a dystopia if the socialists win and everyone gets universal income. What's not to get about this? Gamergaters should never get a free pass on any of their work for the rest of their lives.

I guess I would say peyton manning.

He started doing those ads with papa john who is not a good guy. Plus apparently he has went golfing with trump and supports him. I loved warching him as a qb and thought he always seemed really cool, plus the funny commercials.

I'm surprised I even know names like TotalBiscuit and JonTron. I've never followed streamers whatsoever but I've heard about their, uh... turn-arounds? So-to-speak?

Or... wait. I've heard of JonTron's, at least.

I guess the guy might be a dick, but I don't think the topic is a bad one for a game..... did he have some horrid tweets or something? Outside of the context of the guy being a jerk I think its a neat concept for a scifi game

I'd take what Mike and rich say as just give no fucks older man from Central US.

Theyre just massive older trolls who likely believe these things aren't bad to say and are all around in a political spectrum. They might not be gaf friendly but at least to the general internet standard they aren't alt right or extremely offensive, just hack fraud assholes.
