I would love for Yves to assemble a team to extract, overhaul and essentially remake the older titles, and retrofit them with all these gameplay improvements.
AC titles have these amazing locations and settings, and if they could go back, and remaster the visuals, and add all these improvements to the combat, so the games would really be awesome to play moment to moment, it would change everything.
It would be amazing if they could make some sort of Hitman style episodic type thing where they chop up all the old Anvil and AnvilNext game up. Overhaul them and release them into one big continuum. Make them open world, introduce the open world elements, crafting elements and rpg elements.
Make the featuresets work across the game like a meta. buying property(2, 3), controlling your fleet(rogue, blackflag), managing your brotherhood(brotherhood, revelations), customizing your gear(unity).
Unify the UI, the meta gameplay, so its sort of like jumping in and out of every era like you're playing a civilization campaign. They could then release the games as they move forward.
And that would be an excellent opportunity to remix a lot of the worse parts of the story as well as getting the in-your-face desmond real world story out of your gameplay disruption.
If there is a franchise that would benefit from this, it's AC. I'd buy all the games full price if they could remake them and make as impressive looking as this new. And you'd have to imagine, with all the old games running on the same engine and tech, that if they can extract from one game, they can do it for all of them, and perhaps easily transplant it over into Anvil 2.0.
I'd be almost like reimagining AC as a HItman style episodic delivery mechanism. And it's something so crazy, that I think Ubisoft would be the only ones insane enough to try it.
I see so much potential in the older titles, and I've been looking for an excuse to go back. Particularly AC3. With this new combat system it would be really hard not to!
